  1. I was a freshman back in 2018. We blew out SMU AND Arkansas that season and I thought "Holy sh*t this school is good!"
  2. Ahhh. The more you know. Back to the drawing board!
  3. I don't see why we couldn't reach out to F.C. Dallas for a match at Apogee. Hell, bring in the Arlington Renegades from the UFL. These seem like some easy marketing wins for UNT and those teams too
  4. That’s some sucky news. Dedicating your life to football just for injuries to take everything away. Hope he’s good in the future. Always stinks seeing that
  5. UNT: ✅Poor ✅Sad ✅Irrelevant SMU: ❌Poor ✅Sad ✅Irrelevant if only we had more money, we could be irrelevant like SMU but maybe with a cooler car😞
  6. We can go to 134 to be exact!
  7. *looks at provided picture* Ahh very interesting. I can confirm that IS a football field, which UNT also happens to have one
  8. UNT going to lose games 77-70 but at least the opposing RB had 2 YPC! (the opposing QB had 500 passing yards)
  9. The UNT practice facility is the new iron dome. Nothing gets in. Nothing gets out
  10. Rico Bussey Jr. 4 times
  11. How did a thread about Memphis' playoff chances turn into a Seth Littrell hate thread lol
  12. If we were only 7-point underdogs against Alabama I think I would ask if this is real life
  13. This is the most logical answer I’ve seen. Morris came in and was as-advertised on the offensive side. We were a top 10 team in terms of yards per game with him, even when we lost a bunch of guys before the year. Idk what it is about UNT, but defense continues to be a struggle no matter who is coaching. UNT losing a lot of players to the portal isn’t on Morris either. That’s just CFB now, it’s not just a UNT issue. I’ll give Caponi some grace for last year being year 1, but with how awful it was, his year 2 leash is SHORT.
  14. Ehh, I kinda gotta disagree with you here. I wouldn’t say it’s “far more important”. Just look at SMU. Do they win? Decently. Do their fans show up? Not really. Even when certain teams are bad, fans will still show up due to the atmosphere/brand/culture. UNT’s stadium placement definitely does not help its chances too. UNT is really bland when it comes to pushing their football program. I think trying to create a better brand for UNT could go a long way. When us as fans admit that UNT football isn’t the most appealing, what makes a recruit want to come here?
  15. Dr. Phil Stadium strikes an unsettling fear into people
  16. I think that "Stone Cold" Stadium in Denton has a nice ring to it...
  17. Silva made a sizable donation to FIU to help renovate the stadium and in return was honored with the stadium in his name for 5 years
  18. I spoke too soon
  19. College football as a whole has lost what appealed to fans the most: that feeling of connection. That feeling of family. The sport has become so commercialized it’s just another pro league at this point. Seeing players have that feeling of “school pride” just doesn’t really exist anymore.
  20. I have nothing important to add to this thread. Just mentioning that I went to Wyoming once and it was awesome. Carry on
  21. Things are very quiet rn for UNT but I don't see that as a bad thing. Hoping it just means the team is working out smoothly, as you should in the offseason. Every other day we see a Georgia football player being arrested so maybe we're lucky to be so incognito lol
  22. I wonder if UNT offered him the chance to play WR/CB and that’s why he picked us. Maybe other schools told him to pick a position. Either way, how awesome!
  23. My fault. I lit the Cougar King bat signal in the sky.
  24. Nike and the schools are probably just trying to save a quick buck rather than put in any effort for the jerseys. Easy to mass-produce these cookie-cutter jerseys which are probably way more popular now due to NIL. Nike went too over the top with the crazy designs, now they're way too bland. Hopefully, they find a good middle ground that isn't such an eye-sore but also isn't a boring piece of nothing
  25. Good education, big greek life presence, notable alumni, deep football history (not AS deep as top-end SEC schools). Maybe I'm overrating them idk. I'm not an SMU fan in the slightest but it's hard to deny they have the pieces. Just 0 fan support to help
