  1. There definitely needs to be a little cutback on the sheer amount of games. I love CFB, but the bowl season just seems to be a little oversaturated at this point. The Boca Raton Bowl, which is tonight, is at 7...Thursday Night Football is at 7:15. That overlap is going to screw with viewership which stinks for Syracuse and USF. Make it 7 wins to be bowl-eligible and that should be a good first step
  2. I think the biggest quote from what you said is "Most athletes are going to go for the team in the best conference that they get an offer from." A lot of the times, recruits just fall through the cracks. There are just so many guys that recruiting staffs have to look for, and then they have to evaluate each player and see if they're suitable. A lot of being recruited is obviously about player skill, but there's more luck involved than people realize. Rockwall, which is a 6A D1 football program, had a RB this year rush for 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns. Crazy stats, right? His best offer was from UTEP. He's 5'11 190, so he has a smaller frame, but you still have to wonder how he didn't garner a little more attention with those kinds of numbers. To me, that just further shows how recruiting is such a mixed bag. Really good players fall through the cracks all the time until someone like Coach O stumbles upon their tape and realizes what everyone else is missing out on
  3. They have to give boosts to the players who sign with the top programs. And then when they get to schools like UNT, they knock their rankings down a peg. Can't wait to see what they give us!
  4. UNT Football just posted that we signed another transfer RB: Tre Bradford, from LSU Be warned, as it appears that Bradford has left LSU multiple times, only to return/transfer back to LSU in the end. But for now, it looks like a great add! Bradford is a former 4-star recruit from the 2020 class.
  5. Looks like Morris is reading this thread
  6. Outside of the big P5 schools landing the huge transfers, I’m not sure too many transfers have made their final destinations known yet. There’s a lot of guys still out there. But I agree, let’s hope they choose UNT!
  7. We do have a 5-star kicker commit from Flower Mound named Miguel Arenas. I don’t believe he signed today, but I also don’t know how that works with kickers (not sure if he was offered a scholarship seeing as kickers/punters don’t get those until they prove themselves)
  8. Saw this idea from SMU (sorry, I know) but it seems like a great idea for UNT to do their own version of it. I know we have Denton County Brewing Company, and other great options as well! UNT needs to get creative with raising NIL funds and this seems like something that could work, or at least something similar!
  9. 2 catches this year for Shorter?
  10. Just like the A&M player who just transferred to Alabama He's named LT Overton...and plays on the defensive line
  11. UNT staff did what the Clippers did with Deandre Jordan years ago...locked the door until they sign
  12. I'm not an Earle defender. Just trying to rationalize his return. Maybe I'm coping idk
  13. Familiarity with the system is my best guess. I agree that he's not my top option, but at least he's got the playbook down. Better than nothing but not the best
  14. Multiple sources have reported that he changed course and is returning, dude
  15. Quote straight from the article: "Coaches and players agreed he was the fastest player on the team, and he showed it during practices and games, jumping off the line and darting his way up the field on punt returns." This could be a real fun guy to watch
  16. We still have Stone Earle so it's not like Cash will NEED to be forced into the fire from day 1. I think Morris is a bright enough offensive mind where he can make the offense work with Earle. If Cash beats him out, that just shows he was ready to compete as a freshman! There's also still plenty of time for a transfer QB to make his way here. We need to learn from Aaron Rodgers and R E L A X
  17. Glad we got some help on the defensive line. A few more DL pieces and a transfer portal QB will have this team looking STELLAR (on paper at least)
  18. I'm not doing this for extra brownie points, but thank you @GMG24 and @TheReal_jayD for keeping track of all this! So many puzzle pieces coming in it's hard to remember everyone
  19. Never a bad thing to have a running back room full of dogs. We'll just have to wait and see!
  20. That's a great get for sure. But if there's another RB they're talking about...that'd be even better! But welcome to Kiefer! #GMG
  21. I'm very impressed by the amount of DB recruits we've brought in this year. Shaping up to be one of the better secondaries we've fielded in some time
  22. A little more reassurance with Brice. Obviously not set in stone, but he seems to be really buying in on UNT
