  1. Unironically, FSU dissed SMU in their legal case for all of this. Pretty hilarious turn of events
  2. Thankfully we got transfer RB Zach Evans and recruit Kiefer Sibley. Bradford could very well be the most talented of the group, but he’ll need some tough love
  3. I think this is the guy the staff is in on the most. Entered the portal and UNT immediately offered him. Would be a great fit here
  4. Western Son is another great business to work with. Everyone knows that CFB and alcohol are an inseparable pair. Why not try and capitalize off it
  5. I think he won't be a scholarship player, so he didn't get a graphic for signing day. Kinda how it goes with kickers/punters when they first enter school. But he's a 5-star kicker that should compete for the job right away and I'm all for it! Kickers are people too!
  6. I think once FSU was snubbed, everyone knew that was a death sentence for the ACC. The playoff committee gave a middle finger to that conference, and it's going to tumble in the near future. Crazy times in college football
  7. If he earned a scholarship than more power to him. All 3 phases of the game need to be working like a well oiled machine to have a winning program, and LS is a big piece for special teams. Good for him for putting in the work and getting a scholarship imo
  8. It appears that he never even played a game for OU when he entered the portal again to return to LSU...which leaves even more questions than answers. Hope he can find his footing again, but as this thread is named, Zach Evans is a RB that looks to be a great player if Bradford doesn't pan out!
  9. KD entered the transfer portal in 2022 but then backed out and returned. Should we have let the door hit him on the way out?
  10. Casey Thompson just hit the portal. Recently at FAU but started at Texas, then went to Nebraska, then FAU. He's a pretty old player for CFB but could be someone for UNT to go after. Definitely a 1 year "bridge guy" for the program
  11. Oh 100%. UNT is a great spot to put up numbers, but he's gonna have some fairly decent P5 schools knocking on his door like Miami, South Carolina, or maybe even Mississippi State (he's a Mississippi kid too). NIL money + a school with a national brand is hard to compete with
  12. I like the optimism, but there is no way the bottom 2 dudes would even give us a chance
  13. Great graphic of all the commits. Impressive group, and hopefully more to come!
  14. There definitely needs to be a little cutback on the sheer amount of games. I love CFB, but the bowl season just seems to be a little oversaturated at this point. The Boca Raton Bowl, which is tonight, is at 7...Thursday Night Football is at 7:15. That overlap is going to screw with viewership which stinks for Syracuse and USF. Make it 7 wins to be bowl-eligible and that should be a good first step
  15. I think the biggest quote from what you said is "Most athletes are going to go for the team in the best conference that they get an offer from." A lot of the times, recruits just fall through the cracks. There are just so many guys that recruiting staffs have to look for, and then they have to evaluate each player and see if they're suitable. A lot of being recruited is obviously about player skill, but there's more luck involved than people realize. Rockwall, which is a 6A D1 football program, had a RB this year rush for 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns. Crazy stats, right? His best offer was from UTEP. He's 5'11 190, so he has a smaller frame, but you still have to wonder how he didn't garner a little more attention with those kinds of numbers. To me, that just further shows how recruiting is such a mixed bag. Really good players fall through the cracks all the time until someone like Coach O stumbles upon their tape and realizes what everyone else is missing out on
  16. They have to give boosts to the players who sign with the top programs. And then when they get to schools like UNT, they knock their rankings down a peg. Can't wait to see what they give us!
  17. UNT Football just posted that we signed another transfer RB: Tre Bradford, from LSU Be warned, as it appears that Bradford has left LSU multiple times, only to return/transfer back to LSU in the end. But for now, it looks like a great add! Bradford is a former 4-star recruit from the 2020 class.
  18. Looks like Morris is reading this thread
  19. Outside of the big P5 schools landing the huge transfers, I’m not sure too many transfers have made their final destinations known yet. There’s a lot of guys still out there. But I agree, let’s hope they choose UNT!
  20. We do have a 5-star kicker commit from Flower Mound named Miguel Arenas. I don’t believe he signed today, but I also don’t know how that works with kickers (not sure if he was offered a scholarship seeing as kickers/punters don’t get those until they prove themselves)
  21. Saw this idea from SMU (sorry, I know) but it seems like a great idea for UNT to do their own version of it. I know we have Denton County Brewing Company, and other great options as well! UNT needs to get creative with raising NIL funds and this seems like something that could work, or at least something similar!
  22. 2 catches this year for Shorter?
  23. Just like the A&M player who just transferred to Alabama He's named LT Overton...and plays on the defensive line
  24. UNT staff did what the Clippers did with Deandre Jordan years ago...locked the door until they sign
