Update from Footballcoop.com (Monday Morning)

I have no information but say that is it JF, who says he isn’t out there not recruiting in terms of keeping our guys from going to the portal and looking at talent in the portal.. I would also prefer a coach to have a vsst majority of their staff built as well before being announced It should not be solely on how you recruit, we have recruited well and have not developed much NFL talent… JF has developed NFL caliber talent QBs and 1st round pick QBs… he has openly admitted recruiting to VT was way different than he had expected as well -

How jones ever called plays? I would have no issue giving him the OC gig but we need someone experienced while also developing a future OC at the same time -
What will you think when the hire is made?
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
We are all upset, nervous and other feelings about this hire… with that being said, with how SL was walking on egg shells since his 1-6 start last year… the list rumored to be created… these are likely discussions that NS and WB/JM have had among themselves… no idea if JM was involved but I would like to think he was with his input being valued by NS/WB… yes some names have likely been added/removed but the discussions on what they are looking for has already happened. With that being said, now that the semester is over, and team going down to Frisco this should allow for JM and staff to work without interference. A few things are likely, they know who they are hiring and the staff is being out together now but kept under wraps for the public/players to focus on bowl, they are still looking, or 3… they are completely head in rhe sand -
I’m sure part of the issue is that the posting has to be up for X amount of time and X number of people need to be considered etc

My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Idk what infrastructure was presented was a cute idea, but this just shows what kind of facilities we are going up against and another reason that we need to invest large amounts of money into into before a cash burn pill of money for baseball Navy, Army, Air Force are schools we have battled against in recruiting battles and seeing AD offices like this draws players.. not because it looks nice but because they see the history and what those colleges have produced after football… UNT has a slide show on a TV that freezes 75% of the time in the lobby of the AD center lol… -
It’s only 430pm!

My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
We don’t need to be like OU or UT… but for us to be losing say 2-3M a year on baseball let’s invest in what we actually need now to be on par with our peers in the AAC… here is Navy from 2 days ago…look at the differences -
Who knows how much it cost, if anything if they didn’t hire them… but let’s hope in those meetings they got ideas/insight from those who they talked to about how to improve program

ESPN is reporting this as well

My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Athletics is in a much better position today than it was when SL/WB got here. Continue to improve what we have, once we have on par facilities with the AAC then you can expand and put money into other projects. there is a reason why the AAC was so much higher rated as a conference than CUSA.. we went from having great facilities but now we are middle of the road at best in some facilities. -
My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
It’s not moving the goalposts when the AD office has repeatedly talked about improving and expanding the AD offices. Hell Navy has a 28M dollar complex that the lobby smokes our entire complex. Put money and improve what we have, and then once those are successful, then you can expand into new sports -
My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
We can want UNT to ignore it, but if they aren’t now, and haven’t in the past I would assume it’s not likely to start up… -
All quiet on the western front
ExADofficeIntern replied to Hunter Green's topic in Mean Green Football
I just wonder if this will be a tandem hire… that NS likes person X for either the AD/HC gig and whichever it is that he prefers, NS and that person is picking who they want for the other spot -
My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I have issues with us adding sports that are massive negatives in terms of net income… we have other programs, department upgrades, and staffing improvements that need to be made over creating another sport that generates a multi-million dollar L… i would rather instead of the school/boosters making up that million(s) dollar deficit, that money would be spent on sctually getting our facilities up to AAC standards… we still don’t have a football only weight room, we still have staff in the ADs office working out of office closets lol but ya let’s keep add baseball spend 3M a year to make 200k in tickets 😂 -
My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
People can talk, but most people are not going to drive 25-30+ minutes from DFW up to Denton (1 way) then watch a crap team get its butts kicked repeatedly… fans will say they can’t wait but after 1-2 years of losing they will not still be giving the program money, then it’s an even bigger money pit… So you now want to cut other programs that lose less money for a start up program that will generate a bigger negative… -
My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
It’s simple facts.. spending let’s say 1M on a stadium, another 1M on start up costs in terms of staffing equipment, etc, another 1M for coaches/scholarships… then you have to factor in the other title sports you need to offset.. that’s 3M before you factor in the Womens sports so maybe you’re around 4M cut in the AD budget, when we are moving into the AAC, and needing to improve our football funding, add onto the AD building, and vastly improve the Superpit/basketball facilities to keep someone like GM around since it’s our only other real money maker sport we have. -
My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
1- Expansion of the AD Center, Football Offices, Basketball Offices… 2- Make it a priority to do what needs to be done to allow basketball to stay successful (GMac could be a candidate to go to WV, and pleasing him/new buy out would be nice). 3-Find ways to involve students more that are on campus to attend Basketball/Football… Dorms/Greeks/ student apartments across denton, and find a way to pair up events with TWU.. finding ways to bring more on campus students to basketball is very much needed. Those are 3 quick and apparent things that need to be updated quickly. -
My Question for Jared Mosley
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
We are not financially unable to have baseball… the reason we do not have baseball now is that the AD is putting the money they get into the current programs, adding baseball you are adding multiple other sports for Title 9, increasing coaches across the board.. if people can’t even come up for a football game, why would people drive up to Denton on a Thursday night for a baseball game -_- I will also point this out there… one of the biggest issues with UNT is also the % of the student body that commutes up to UNT. If only 40-50% of the university stays on campus/in Denton you then have to realize an even smaller % of that student body is even around to go to a game on a Thursday night (if that student isn’t working.) -
Well it’s Friday… time to announce whose AD
-
While baseball would be a great addition to the department, it’s money pit that cost schools millions… with that being said, I would love for UNT to have a team and go out and pick off DBU or someone else’s entire staff as a foundation starter.

Outside the box hire at A&M-Commerce
ExADofficeIntern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree, and I think that is and could be a huge sticking point. With that being said, JayD did say some solid additions at OC/DC maybe coming as well or rumored… I hope the names are solid enough that it’s forcing the university to open up its budget a bit more to put a top of the line staff on the field -

Or if he is the pick… they are negotiating over things such as assistant coach budget etc… let’s hope they give a boost to the budget with us moving into the American next year -
Not that it really matters… and no idea why I’m typing this as I type it.. but the 2nd ACL injury was on a spot in the field that numerous players had worries about the turf I had heard/read.

I am starting to have strong feelings towards Emmett

I’d be open to something like that potentially and I hope that the “delay” in naming a HC is they have the guy but they are working out details such as assistant coach budget, etc…
