  1. Harrison Keller. Honestly, not sure how I feel about this. I would think we were/are in a situation where we would be able to recruit a top leader in higher education. This guy has never lead a university. Kinda dissapointed. Harrison Keller, PhD COMMISSIONER OF HIGHER EDUCATION The Commissioner of Higher Education is appointed by the Board of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and serves as the CEO of the agency. Dr. Keller came to the Coordinating Board from The University of Texas at Austin, where he served President Gregory Fenves as Deputy to the President for Strategy and Policy. Previously, he served as Vice Provost for Higher Education Policy and Research and founded the OnRamps and Texas OnCourse initiatives. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Education Policy Advisor and Director of Research for Rep. Tom Craddick during his tenure as Speaker of the Texas House, and as a project director at UT Austin’s Charles A. Dana Center. Dr. Keller received his B.A. with honors from the University of Notre Dame, and went on to receive master’s and doctoral degrees in philosophy from Georgetown University. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an intelligence officer. A native of the Texas Panhandle, Keller resides in Austin with his wife Gena and their three children.
  2. This was the distribution for the AAC in the same year
  3. His top 10 favorite players: Frank Harris, QB - UTSA Jyaire Shorter, WR - North Texas Luke McCaffrey, WR - Rice LaJohntay Webster, WR - FAU Febechi Nwaiwu, RG - North Texas Eyabi Okie, DE - Charlotte Drew Tuazama, DT - UAB Trey Moore, LB - UTSA Romain Mungin, CB - FAU Jaylen Key, S - UAB
  4. Texas Tech is also expected to pay North Texas $750,000 to buy out the remainder of McCasland’s contract since he left before July 1, 2023. The buyout was $1.5 million, but the contract Between McCasland and North Texas shows that amount is reduced by 50 percent if Wren Baker is no longer the UNT athletics director or employed by UNT. West Virginia hired Baker in late November to be its athletics director. The buyout is due in 60 days. 5. ... i always Bleed Green!! #GMG
  6. I live in DC and there are several options on the way to Annapolis. For example, there is a Casino (for those that gamble) in Hanover, MD (Maryland Live). It is a 30 min drive to Annapolis. You can fly into BWI from Love Field on Southwest. Hotels right now, near BWI, are about $180 per night for the Friday - Sunday of the game. I am more than happy to help if anyone has any questions. Also, I am working to get the DC Area UNT alumni to get together for this game. I sent out an email today to about 100+ alums in the area. Would be great to have a tailgate also.
  7. Bracketology 2023: 10 most complicated resumes to analyze this season (bustingbrackets.com) North Texas Mean Green Excluding the Mountain West, Gonzaga, and Saint Mary’s, the mid-major teams that have been in the at-large conversation are Florida Atlantic and College of Charleston. But the Cougars have lost two games in CAA play and have put themselves in a situation where they likely need the autobid to get into the NCAA Tournament. FAU is in a good spot out of Conference USA and there’s a darkhorse in the league that could get another spot in North Texas. They’re 23-5 on the season and 13-3 in league play, with two of those losses coming to Florida Atlantic. They’re 3-3 against Quad 1/2 opponents, which isn’t great but the worst losses (Rice, UNC Wilmington) aren’t awful either. The metrics are solid and they have a top-40 NET ranking. The Mean Green also has a road game at Charlotte this week, which will count as a Quad 2 win if they can get it. It’s a resume that’s better than College of Charleston and if they win out until a potential loss to FAU in the title game, would have 29 total wins. There’s always a mid-major team on the bubble that somehow gets to the First Four of the NCAA Tournament and North Texas might be that team, even though their best win to date is against UAB.
