Your school doesn’t care if you’re pissed. Your school cares about winning because winning leads to money. 95% of the fans would agree and a portion of those would sell their soul for a top program annually. Sometimes you have to do things that you don’t want to do in order to get to places that you want to get. And for the record, I don’t oppose your view. Just trying to take an open-eyed look at the other side.

I’m sure the OP was directly referring to us but don’t you think FAU or Tulsa would have paid $500K for a 6-6 record? That’s a great ROI, no? And regarding us, did that $500K (or whatever) keep us at 6-6, would we have been worse or could we have done it without CM? I don’t know the answer to that and if you ask 3 people you’d probably get 3 different answers.

We need a camera crew following one of these guys at the end of the season and documenting how all of this goes down. Your best players are often the ones leaving. Your best players typically give you a better chance at winning a bowl game. A bowl game victory is better for recruiting and program image. A bowl victory picks up another $35K for coach and is another skin on the wall.

I don't even think they have to match. Your last ride playing for your dad. Very hard to put a price on that. We'd all love that opportunity and some of us would probably pay for it ourselves. CM is likely to enter the coaching ranks and probably has a pretty good nest egg already setup. Money doesn't always have to be a driver. That said, SWT could be backing up the Brinks truck, WTF do I know?

Feel free to stop by the locker room and let these guys know. you don’t have to like how the season went (most don’t). You don’t have to think the coaches did the job that was expected of them (most don’t). But you can’t S on the players for achieving and celebrating a milestone, no matter how unworthy you think it might be. Be better.
