i'm disapointed that he left, but that's the type of program we are and will continue to be. when they are deserving, they are going to move up, no question. we can't match facilities, monies or support, no matter how green our glasses are. the part that i dont like, specific to wren's comments is "important for Hodge to set up North Texas for success before he left." Coach the game or not, it didn't set us up for anything. he stayed because he wanted to win. he stayed because any mark of success went on his resume. he stayed because 15 players and a handful of coaches have battled and needed to finish together. none of that is setting us up for anything. all of the coaches are going to leave. 80% of the players are going to leave. this was not about UNT future, this was about UNT current and Ross future. Wren dropped that line to make it sound like Ross was doing poor little UNT a favor. get out of here

agree 100%. i actually thought it was refreshing to see her dressed like that.

my lemonade stand got knocked over once as kid but some wild ass kid learning to ride his bike. i was devastated, so that's out. i do like the NIL beer idea.

You never miss the $0.45 but if it happens on 80% of the transactions, that'll add up and no one even has to think about it. do it at every sporting event and keep the money with that particular sport. that would also help you gauge how interested your fans were and where to put add'l NIL focus. the hidden bonus is your opponents will occasionally donate too because they are too lazy to read the screen.

Seems like that's just moving money around from bucket to bucket. if 10M were to go to players, why wouldn't they just fund it through their NIL dept? i would assume BOR would have to approve both, either way. not arguing, just thinking out loud. the voices in my head are tired of talking to each other.

i'm going to guess these are before he left. When he got to Denton he had on a black MG shirt and she was wearing green. actually think his kid that is transferring had on something MG too. regardless, happy to have them here and excited to see what he can do!

can i say both? the poor kid's head is probably spinning right now as it came on pretty quick and his post HS plans got flipped around. his mom has made it known, pretty adamantly, that his future is TBD. and the tone of when she most recently said it tells me TBD likely does not include UNT.

you can probably wipe DJ Thomas from your list. Pretty sure he's had a change of plans with the coaching change.

Totally prepared to get blasted for this, but it is something that has always drove me nuts. Cle State would be considered a lesser program and play in a lesser conference, no? They performed at an above average level, not winning the conf or advancing beyond a few rounds of CBI. Wouldnt there be concern for bringing in a slew of players, that played in that system, in a lesser league, against lesser talent, with mid to moderate results? I’m not necessarily knocking the players, but the mentality of “I hope he brings XYZ players with him”. If they couldn’t dominate the Horizon, how are they going to fare in the AAC?

No need to dismantle the basketball court anyways. Allen HS hosts cheer, dance, flag and wrestling competitions in their gym all the time. They have the means to cover the floor. They host graduation for 1800 kids every year on their turf and they have the means to cover the turf. Them HS girls walk on it with their high heels and ain't no one falling, so you know the cover is strong enough. The floor at the pit could have been covered. The turf on the IPF could have been covered. But that requires forward thinking. That said, Allen HS probably has a larger operating budget than us and can afford those things, so my point is moot.

Why not go vertical and horizontal? There are drive throughs under buildings all the time. expand the AC towards the scoreboard at 2 levels high. part of that first level will be the drive through, but visually from the stands, it will look like a building. put a 40yd scoreboard spanning the top of the building and ditch the 2 postage stamp boards in the corners. the building will look massive, will close off the end to contain sound and could almost be legit.

Touché. I’m in east Allen. About a block from ‘not Allen’. As I sit right now at 6:21p, I’m 67 mins away from the Pit. Hour 10 to get there. 45 to get home. MVSU and 1500-2000 people in the stands. I’m gunna have to pass….but GMG!

'Frisco' doesn't help the conversation much. Little Elm Frisco or McKinney Plano Frisco. Those are 2 very different places and distances from Denton. Not saying you can't or aren't making it, just know that all Frisco is not 'Frisco'.
