The kid should have opted out before the team departed for the Bahamas. He got a free scholarship, an opportunity for an education to help him when his football days are over and he goes on the trip with the guise of playing for his teammates and school. Wrong move, no ethics and if he got left behind, so what. It’s never tough to do the right thing. Be better.

UNT - my BBA degree Houston-brother went here back in the days of Newhouse, Yeoman and others and we've been season ticket holders for a few years Texas A&M-my MBA and my $$ and oldest daughter graduated from here Sam Houston-my $$ and youngest daughter graduated from here If some of the Big 12-2 schools are on, I might watch them if they're Texas schools. Don't care about other SEC schools, other conferences or any NFL teams, quit watching NFL after the Oilers left for Tennessee. Of course my wife is a Cowboys fan so I have to take the good with the bad. LOL

Who cares? Dude didn't say much to anyone. I went to a couple of the coaches caravan's when they came to Houston and Wren and McCasland were the most talkative to me. Seth got his $$ and can move on. He did get the academics up for the team and improved some other things, but I'm waiting to see who they get this time because after watching the introductory video from years ago to seeing what has now transpired, man, not much else to say.

Guess that means the Battle of the Piney Woods will be back when SFA moves up. Carthel said SFA would no longer play Sam since they were moving to CUSA and SFA was still in FCS.

Even though Kinne is a Texas boy, I'm surprised Tulsa didn't choose him since that's where he played college ball and he went to Tx State to replace Jake Spavital. You're 100% right that Morris did the hard work at UIW and put them on the map. There were Tech grads who thought Morris would go there to coach but the administration went a different route.

He turned UIW into a good program. After losing to Sam in last year’s playoffs he resigned and didn’t have another opportunity lined up that I was aware of. I haven’t heard why the sudden resignation.

CTH did it when he was leaving Ohio State for UH.

Maybe he just wants to keep living in Huntsville and taking Sam Houston into CUSA next year. He's been there since 2014, surely he wants a bigger program (no knock on SHSU).

Not sure how SFA won the conf title when ACU was 4-1 in conf play. ACU must have been ineligible or there was a conf championship game. . ACU 4-1 7-4 SHSU 3-2 5-4 SFA 3-2 6-5 rest were below .500 in conf play. I'd take Keeler over Carthel any day.

No to Art and no to Kendall. Kendall can stay in the mountains of Arkansas with the former UH AD.

Someone help me understand the love for Carthel. SFA hasn't beaten SHSU since 2010, even when Sam was down in talent in 2022. They haven't won the Southland or the WAC and got hammered by Rich Rodriguez in their opener.

I'd take Garrett Riley or Emmett Jones over any of these other potential candidates. I just hope they get a good coach who gets them over the hump and begins winning. if he moves on to bigger and greener pastures, so be it. That means he was successful here. Anxiously awaiting an announcement.

You do realize there's only two kinds of coaches. Them that's been fired and them that's gonna be fired. Even D. Sanders quoted that to his team when leaving JSU.
