I'd love to be wrong and we'd somehow make this close or win (know that's kinda nutty but I'm a season ticket holder since Apogee) -- But this comment above is already ringing in my ears. Side note of hope -- KU has over the last ten yrs avg 2-10 seasons -- they sold out their stadium last week under the 3-0 Jayhawks and their D3 super coach Leipold

SO I will add in a NON-TX roots coach -- Bobby Petrino that's at Missouri State -- Has had some controversy in his history but water under the bridge - won every place he's been 134-64 overall - Championships in CUSA, Big East, ACC, MVFC in 2020 - 5-6 in bowls -- 2 time coach of the year winner. He's making 275k so I think we can buy him out easy enough. Coach NFL, G5, P5, FCS -- he knows what he's doing. 6 AP top 25 finishes. What say you ?

Good story -- interesting how things sometimes go - More Money More Problems as one song said -- one thing that struck me was these two programs have 85 local players -- we have what 5-6 maybe --- and portal 5-6 -- we are totally in a different playing field -- our $$ won't get us there - it has to be coaching and ties with solid HS feeder support and the portal of course but intel we can string some 8-9 game winning seasons and a few bowl wins our portal might not be much to look at I fear...

The Truth Hurts

Seth was a hot property in the OC world we know when he got here. Sometimes OC’s become great HC’s and sometimes not - some are great recruiters and some are not. We saw Mason’s producing go down when Graham left - so the value of Mason combined with Graham was epic. Agreed we’d have been where we are now sooner without this combo. Have there been some good guys run through the organization, yes but not enough to win 8-9 games and win a bowl game. Seth has another good run it’s just not probably here. I got a few votes and a few detractors on my coach picks needling TX roots, and I agree with some of the debate as it’s not like it was 15 yrs ago but I will say if you look at our richest recruiting classes by their performance they came from Dickey and Dodge (Todd was a terrible college coach) both with great TX coach ties. Dan had no luck and Seth has been 50/50 JMO. Traylor is grabbing good local talent and Mc in Tech is starting too. Now Sark ain’t local but he has the power of unlimited funds and a school that’s still top ten all time. Patterson who also wasn’t local but had unlimited funds behind him like Rhett now at SMU so to me our needs and connections need still some old school ties to build as our funds are tight. Lastly the Portal is a goldmine and is a tool for kids that used to ride the pine on a stacked teams now have a chance to escape and play - we do need a guy that can embrace it! Sorry went off topic.

Traylor is dynamic and can talk to people like a real person ---- we talk platitudes and phrases that sound good but seem to mean very little -- Selfless, Tough and Disciplined -- sounds great - is that what we were against UNLV or SMU? We need to Let Grant get his feet back under him -- I think we made a 13th hour deal and feel bound to it with Austin - I like the guy and want him to succeed but he was a 50% passer coming into this year and the staff said he'd upped his completions rate to over 70% in the spring yet -- he's a 50% still -- Kinda like inflation is transitory 😞

Yes the excuse of not Executing seems to be the std story -- SO how long does a staff get a pass for doing a bad job - In the field of play, if you do this for a couple games in a row your "riding the pine" -- are coaches exempt of their own rules ---Kinda like the yoyo's in DC? Seth said we failed on all 3 phases -- and we have to coach better - so I guess that will all be fixed this week and we'll win > ? Nah don't see that happening at all just hope we somehow show more of our talent and less of our azz,,,,,, I agree with some of the others that in many cases we have capable guys except for DB's (we lost two I know they were counting on) and the QB quandary - but can we compensate with the rest of the team and better schemes ? hummmm ?

We are ahead of 5 conf schools and just a couple clicks behind ODU and MTSU - boy our conf is a train wreck huh 🤔 UAB 50, WKU is 64 and UTSA is 71 😝
