Absolutely. Consistent winning, and winning big games has always been a problem at UNT. Moreso in football than in basketball though. Last night was a step in the right direction.

Top 10 Super Pit Crowds of All Time per Zac Babb
JT Hammons replied to Dannymacfan's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Good post. I also think it is worth mentioning, it is much more difficult to get a big crowd nowadays compared to back in the day. Reason? So many entertainment options available now but maybe even more importantly the advent of ESPN and ESPN + allowing fans to watch basically every single game on their TV at home or online. That really cuts into the numbers in my humble opinion. -

Not anymore. The Texas State site is saying Kinne may be in trouble and lose his job based on what transpired.

TICKETS LISTEN WATCH DENTON – For the first time since 2002 the UNT men’s basketball team will face SMU. The Mustangs and Mean Green will square off Thursday at Super Pit. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield. For Mean Green fans attending Thursday’s game it will be a “Green Out.” Fans are encouraged to wear green. The first 500 UNT students receive a free shirt. Thursday’s matchup is the first of two meetings this season between the Metroplex schools and pins two of the American Athletic Conference’s top teams against each other. North Texas (11-6. 4-1) enters the contest winners of six of its last seven and owners of a 4-1 league record. The Mustangs (13-5, 4-1) have won seven of their last eight and also have a 4-1 league record. The game features two of the nation’s top defenses as the Mean Green are holding opponents to an average of 58.3 points per game and SMU is holding opponents to an average of 62.4 points per game. Both rank in the top 10 in the country. It’ll be the first time UNT has hosted the Mustangs since 2001. The Mean Green enter this contest riding a 16-game home winning streak and are just one win away from tying the program record for consecutive wins, which was set in 2011. SMU is 3-2 on the road this season and 1-1 on the road against conference opponents. It lost at nationally ranked Memphis, 62-59, on Jan. 7. They led the Tigers by as many as 15 in the first half before Memphis went on its comeback run. Thursday will be the 52nd all-time meeting between the two schools. SMU was North Texas’ first-ever opponent in the program’s first-ever recorded game, which was on Jan. 19, 1917. The game was in Denton and SMU won, 25-23. Following Thursday’s game the Mean Green travel to Boca Raton, Florida, for a road game at No. 22 Florida Atlantic on Sunday. The Owls are coming off their Final Four run from last season and return 14 of their 15 players. The game is scheduled to tip-off at noon CT and will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield. For more information on UNT men's basketball tickets, contact the Mean Green Ticket Office at 940-565-2527 or at ticketoffice@unt.edu. Fans can visit the UNT Athletics Ticket Office located at Gate 2 of DATCU Stadium between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

DALLAS – There once was a time when Temple was a team to be reckoned with in the college basketball world. This isn't one of them. If anything, SMU will have to be cautious about not overlooking the Owls when they visit Moody Coliseum Tuesday night. Temple comes in with a .471 winning percentage against a schedule that isn't exactly daunting. There's also that 1-3 mark in conference play. The Owls were just in North Texas a couple of days ago. The long trip to face a salty UNT team didn't go well. The Mean Green jumped out to a 10-point lead at the half and kept running to 69-51 win in the Super Pit. Guards Jahlil White and Jordan Riley managed to barely slide into double digits, but the rest of the offense served as a precursor to the cold front that drifted down Saturday night. However, the Mustangs won't get the benefit of possible Temple jet lag. Rather than returning to the arctic mess up north, the Owls chose to stick around DFW for a few days, giving them a chance to fully adjust. read more: https://www.si.com/college/smu/mens-basketball/mustangs-not-overlook-temple-owls-for-aac-championship

For Nema Kolta, there are spots around Frisco Landing that hold a collection of memories. There’s the outdoor amphitheater area where she, her cohort and others threw colors at each other as part of a Holi celebration. There are the second-floor hub rooms that have become her favorite study spot on campus. There’s the front desk where she’s worked and gotten to know the faces of UNT at Frisco. “Just observing the building, you see so many different conversations happening and people getting to know and meet new people with these events and things like that,” Kolta said. “It’s very people oriented.” This month marks one year since the official opening of Frisco Landing, the first permanent building on the UNT at Frisco campus. This past week, the campus commemorated the milestone by creating a one-year anniversary time capsule that will be opened in 2073. Complete with a UNT at Frisco mug, a gubernatorial proclamation from the January 2023 ribbon cutting, a collection of photos, a UNT at Frisco ribbon and even a commemorative copy of The Frisco Enterprise, the capsule tells the story of the campus in the present. Looking ahead, the impacts of UNT’s presence in Frisco are yet to be determined. But a look at the campus’s culture and mindset today gives a window into the campus’s possibilities for the future. read more: https://starlocalmedia.com/friscoenterprise/news/as-unt-at-frisco-looks-to-the-future-its-building-a-foundation-of-connection-and/article_87fed8e0-b191-11ee-8bd9-4762ce5cda5c.html

The end of college football as we know it
JT Hammons replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
This is it. This is exactly what I was thinking about this entire situation and just could not put it into words. They are greedily grabbing everything they can now because they know it will eventually not be there anymore. -
I found this list of all the portal transfers for the AAC and thought it was interesting: https://herosports.com/fbs-ncaa-transfer-portal-college-football-tracker-news-group-of-five-cpcp/ We are not the only ones losing players in the conference is the main message.

To read your write up, you would have thought we lost. Just kidding but cheer up man, this team we have here is reallt quite good. Enjoy the moment.

SMU would pay Rogers just to spite us!

Is it just me or does it seem like this staff has a hard time reading poker faces? We spent thousands of dollars making videos and photshops on a kid like this and he clearly was using us just so K-State can brag how they flipped a UNT commit. I demand better effort from our recruiting staff. I realize they can't bat 1000% but I also can hope for 250 or 300 can't I?
