  1. I sort of blame Smatresk for this as he sort of got old and tired at the end. They really struggle with our core message though and always have.
  2. Have you all thought about setting up a go fun me page or whatnot?
  3. I was sharing this thought with my girlfriend, but I just get a feeling that Eric has started to figure UNT out and is putting the pieces in place to place us in the hunt for the AAC crown. Remembering that we no longer must face SMU gives me hope that we could very well be in the top quarter to top half of the league before all is said and done. I don't expect national championships, but I do think we should routinely expect to be in the top half of the league standings year in year out and usually get to a bowl game and sometimes win a bowl game.
  4. Seems to me that the the only power conferences are the SEC and after that the B10. Everything under that is really at a lower level. If we split off, I worry that it will further minimize the amount of support we already battle against.
  5. So true! I was looking at the roster yesterday and I don't know any of these guys for the most part. Sad. Part of my main fandom was following player careers.
  6. The report was greatly appreciated and pleasing to me.
  7. If that is the case - and I do not dispute you - why look for a stadium upgrade at this point in the game. The article seems to push against your theory.
  8. Dear Ollie, We recently wrapped up a busy spring semester, and the heat of summer is upon us in Texas! Our students are focused on summer sessions on campus, while others are taking a much-needed rest for summer break. Now that we have a moment to catch our breath, let's recap some of the highlights of this past semester! Thousands of people in DFW, including on campus in Denton and Frisco, witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse. Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Lyle Lovett came to campus to visit the College of Music and perform with our famous One O'Clock Lab Band. Texas' largest unmanned vehicle research facility was unveiled at Discovery Park. UNT One Stop opened, a place where students can go to navigate the administrative processes of their UNT journey — from admission to graduation. The UNT Debate team delivered an impressive performance at this year's International Forensics Association tournament in Dublin, Ireland — their first international competition. Spring 2024 Commencement weekend successfully conferred nearly 7,000 students for the completion of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. As you may have heard, a sole finalist for the next UNT president was announced at the June 7 UNT System Board of Regents session. Dr. Harrison Keller is set to become the 17th president in the university's history and has served most recently as commissioner and chief executive officer of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Dr. Keller has spent his career committed to improving higher education in Texas, and I am excited and confident he will propel UNT to even greater prominence and continue serving our students and shaping them to become the leaders of tomorrow. I hope you all are enjoying your summer and have a chance to rest and unwind before the hustle of a new school year begins. Share your summer plans with me by tagging me on X at @UNTPrez! I, myself, am looking forward to some time with my family and friends. Thank you for your commitment to this university. UNT Proud, Neal Smatresk President @UNTPrez
  9. Yes I sawr that too. Black seems like it could get quite hot.

  11. I feel like people get too riled up about NIL. If you want to help out in that particular regard there are ways to do it. If you don't then no big deal. I think it is good that they players are able to make some extra money. The coaches and AD's have been making tons for years on the players backs.
  12. I am feeling pretty upbeat about this selection.
  13. Looks like his son is a football coach so that is a positive. https://gopoly.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/harrison-keller/365
  14. I think 5 wins seems about right.

  16. Great info @UNTLifer
  17. Totally agree on this. The only issue I see if that if they separate the have from the have nots you will see a lot of lower level P5 programs start losing a lot more games as they cannot rely on lower level wins against G5 schools. These new big P5 conferences are so big they don't have much room for non conference games as I see it. Some actually have mandated you have to play 9 plus conference games every year.
  18. Wow football is truly a mess for us these days

  20. It doesn't seem right to blame Jared for this mess.
