  1. Good question. I have noticed a lot of UNT fans dislike ULM and for no apparent reason.
  2. While I think 8-4 is a strach I do see winning 7 games as entirely possible. So from that standpoint the OP is not very far off. Not enough to be ridiculed by the masses.
  3. He could make his case to the NCAA for an injury year no?
  4. This statement pants a very dark picture for us and the rest of G5: The G5 has been weakened by realignment and the modernization of compensation rules. Over the last several years, many of the division’s top-resourced schools elevated to the power leagues, and the infusion of NIL money, as well as the implementation of free transfers, has further widened a gap between the power leagues and G5 that was already quite wide. Around the corner is likely another gap-widening concept: athlete revenue sharing.
  5. Yes good to see. They have no leverage but at least they can discuss ways to work together for the common good.
  6. North Texas Mean Green: North Texas had a flair for the dramatic in Eric Morris’ first season at the helm. The Mean Green went 5-7, losing by more than eight points just twice and winning by more than eight points just twice, once over a FBS team. “Can’t happen” losses to FIU and Navy really marred what was an interesting season otherwise, with losses by 7 to Tulane, 3 to Memphis, and 8 to UTSA. Those are competitive showings against the top of the AAC. The Dudes of Denton have a new backfield of former TCU players as they look to replace a ton of lost production and hope that transfers help what was a downright awful defense last season. Outlook “All gas, no brakes” for the North Texas team makes them hard to predict. If the defense can even get slightly better, the offense should eat and this could be a bowl team. Right now, I have 5.36 wins, but I think Morris might be building something decent here and the defenders now fit the scheme. I think they could be a slight overperformer and a team I adjust up in my Power Ratings. 7. This will be a great test!
  8. Did not realize USA has a brand new football stadium. Looks nice. Almost same as ours tho. Like they copied our design? https://usajaguars.com/facilities/hancock-whitney-stadium/1
  9. I was discussing the importance of this game for UNT and to my surprise my better half agreed to let me go if I can figure out a way to do it on the cheap. Is anybody interested in driving if I agree to split the gas? Also possibly sharing hotel rooms, preferably something like OYO with twin beds? We stay at those and they aren’t great but AC works and bed is decent.
  10. “I thought a couple of the freshmen wideouts looked good today,” Morris said. “Baron Tipton made a great play over the middle, went up and caught a ball with people around him. Wyatt Young is a guy that continues just every single day to do something that we notice. He’s going to find a role for himself on this team.” On the defensive side, Morris highlighted sophomore Northern Arizona transfer David Spruiells, who is playing the star position — a hybrid combination of the linebacker and defensive back positions. “He continues to show up and make plays for us,” Morris said. “He made a big interception today to kind of set the tone on defense.” Alongside Spruiells, the entire defense has been working on two primary goals during fall camp: fundamentals and stopping the run. After a 2023 season in which the Mean Green allowed 255 rushing yards per game, Defensive Coordinator Matt Caponi said changes have been made across the board to address their run-stopping deficiencies. “It's the same mindset I told them in the first practice,” Caponi said. “I don't care if these quarterbacks throw for 4000 yards, they better not run the ball for one yard.” read more: https://www.ntdaily.com/sports/week-2-of-fall-camp-north-texas-football-has-100-faith-in-3-3-5/article_9e8e3b50-574a-11ef-aaf5-af8321d3fa06.html
  11. Mean Joe Green, Hayden Fry, Jamario and McCasland?
  12. North Texas football team disciplined for 'fight club' hazing incident The North Texas football team is facing discipline for hazing involving a “fight club incident" that took place in fall 2021, said Elizabeth With, senior vice president for student affairs, in an email to the North Texas Daily. The allegation, made in September 2022, claimed underclassmen players were involved, With said. According to the university’s hazing violations webpage, the conduct process was resolved on April 16, 2024. “The university conducted an investigation that was then verified by an outside review,” With said. “The investigation found, and the review confirmed, that hazing occurred but did not occur as part of any team training or activity and university employees were not aware until after the incident.” With also said those involved are “no longer at the university.” The university instituted sanctions on the football team in response to the incident. Athletes, staff and coaches will “receive training and education on hazing” to take place over the next three years, according to the university’s hazing website. 13. Think we found a QB just not sure how healthy he can be and who is behind him if he gets injured again.
  14. I was wondering if the AD might consider getting current season ticket holders to aid them in the effort to increase total season ticket holders. The AD could print off a list of recent season ticket holders who have not renewed in the past few years. Give this list with phone numbers to the current season ticket holders in good standing and have them call on these who have not renewed and encourage them to “re-up”. Maybe do it old school phone bank style and buy some pizzas and invite the callers to come back to campus and make it fun. Thoughts?
  15. Hopefully the tight end can be moved to defensive line
  16. She really helped me on my tix
  17. Seems like there is so much uncertainty about the UNT football 🏈 program and the sport of college football itself in the 2024 season. Am I alone here?
  18. Embarrassing for them to be broke. They cut into their own revenue by trying yo lure DFW students to attend there. Maybe they need to change that policy!
  19. Great photos. I really like your work. Do you have a blog I can bookmark?
  20. His film is very pleasing to me.

  22. Well stated. This is exactly what is killing the interest this season. We have a defensive tackle that goes 5-11 and did absolutely nothing to upgrade. Why?
