  2. All of the scenarios I am reading seem to believe what is left after the Big 12, B10 and other vultures pick it apart will be Oregon State, Washington State and California. They think Stanford will just go independent which the easily could with their 40 billion dollar endowment. So I pose the question to @DentonStang and @mustangfan, would that leftover conference be worth joining? Or are you so arrogant that you would just jump into a lousy conference and dismantle the one you built (again) to start another conference based on the west coast where no one gives a shit about football anyway?

  5. DATCU, a leading Texas full-service credit union, announced Tuesday that it has named a new president after that title was recently split from Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Directors. Melanie Vest has been promoted from Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer to the new role as President. Glen McKenzie will remain the credit union’s CEO. “Melanie has been a superior leader and an instrumental part of our success and growth throughout her career here at DATCU,” McKenzie said. “The fact that she has grown from a UNT student working as a part-time teller to now becoming the President is really remarkable. This speaks to her tenacity and dedication. Having spent her entire career at DATCU, I have no doubt that she will continue to accomplish great things for the credit union. It’s a privilege to continue working with Melanie and the entire DATCU family.” Melanie Vest joined DATCU in April 2002 as a part-time teller while a student at the University of North Texas. In almost 20 years, she has excelled in multiple positions of leadership and has overseen multiple conversions, realized significant reductions in operating expenses, and has been focused on maintaining exemplary service to credit union members, according to a DATCU news release. In 2012, as a young executive, she was recognized by Credit Union Times as a 2012 Woman to Watch. Read more: https://www.crosstimbersgazette.com/2021/11/09/datcu-names-new-president/
  6. It will very clearly be DATCU Stadium. If you look at U of H, their is a credit union as well and they call it TDECU Stadium. I found this article that outlines their partnership and the recent extension through 2034. https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/sports/2022/09/08/432557/the-university-of-houston-extends-partnership-with-tdecu-bank-to-2034/
  7. Nice article. You have given me more hope at a position I felt like was one of our biggest challenges this year. I also see Jordan Brown emerging.

  9. As an aside, I wonder why did we not get UTSA, Rice and SMU all as home and away? I mean all three of us are in Texas and it would allow for bus rides instead of the team charter.

  13. I agree with this. I expect the landscape of college athletics changing dramatically over the next 3-4 years.
  14. Very excited about this. Is this event open to the public?
  15. I was unaware that they were that small. I always though the business school was huge based on the size and number of my friends enrolled in it.
  16. Losing Larry Nixon really hurts. He was our best linebacker from last season.
  17. Defeating Cal would be fantastic. It would give us immediate cred with the AAC and Commissioner Aresco right out of the gate.
  18. I get that but what are we getting out of it? Seems like Wyoming gets a lot. They sure will not bring any fans to our stadium. I feel like we need to get a little more demanding in our expectations.
  19. I am sort of mixed on this one. It is good to get a Mountain West team in here, but I think they need us more than we need them. They will want to come here to recruit DFW and we don't get much in return in my mind other than a D1 win. Thoughts?
  20. This is good news. Would love to see us get to 6-7K.
