  1. Wow that is quite striking! NIL has to change for the better of the players and the fans.
  2. Plink said he was a game day decision for FAU. I would hope by this week he would be ready.
  3. I agree and I think they have the kind of team that will play everyone competitively.
  4. I paid $24 for two pints in there and said that is it. I have been hanging out at Lucky Lou's and they seem much more reasonable on their beers. Also, I like that they have a grill and kitchen there. The food trucks at Eastside are very hit and miss.
  5. After the game-leading score late in the game from the Mean Green, the Owls had 55 seconds left to potentially win the game. Unfortunately for the Owls, quarterback Cam Fancher threw the game-ending interception to confirm the Mean Green win. Even with the interception, Fancher had an impressive game. He threw for a career-high 351 yards, three touchdowns and rushed for 69 yards. Of the 519 total yards on offense, Fancher produced 420 of those yards. “I saw the guy that we recruited,” Herman said. “I saw a guy that knew he was one of, if not the best, player on the field and he went out and was that. That was really really fun to see, he needed a game like this…he played really good.” Even with FAU’s fourth loss, head coach Tom Herman remains optimistic about the team. He pointed out the positives from this game. “I’m not mad,” Herman said. “For huge periods, huge stretches, we played tonight like a championship American Athletic Conference team should play and I was really proud of that. We haven’t seen that in a year and a half, guys, against a really really good team.” On Oct. 19, the Owls head on the road to play the University of Texas-San Antonio (2-4, 0-2 AAC) at 3:30 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN +. 6. Thanks for posting. I am planning on listening on my commute home this afternoon.
  7. This appears to be the final piece of the pie so to speak. If this gets final approval, which the judge seems to think it will now, Athletic Departments and Universities will "pave the way for schools to pay for players." So, as I read this now, instead of giving money to NIL's who distribute money to players, or in some cases promise to and then don't! It looks like now the athletic departments will be handling this and be monitored by the NCAA. I am not in love with all this NIL stuff but it does seem like this is a good settlement. Does it separate the big schools from the rest, of course it does but at least there is some consistency in how they are setting it up for the future. It allows us to give money to the AD and let's them and the coaches decide on how it is distributed which they have been doing already.
  8. Don’t think Merchant Marine is equivalent to Army, Air Force and Navy quite honestly.

  10. Memphis and Tulane are weighing their options of joining the Pac-12 or remaining in the American. Depending on who AAC commissioner Tim Pernetti can acquire, staying in their current conference might be the best option for the Tigers and/or the Green Wave. Pernetti is known to desire UNLV and Air Forcefrom what's left of the Mountain West. If the Falcons and Rebels jump to the AAC instead of the Pac-12 then all the sudden the AAC might look more desirable for Memphis and Tulane to stay put. Both Memphis and Tulane are desired by the Pac-12 for their consistency and recent success in football. Both are essentially top 50 TV markets, but Memphis brings a record of success in basketball and Tulane is attractive because it's in New Orleans. (Don't think that presidents and ADs haven't thought about fun weekends in N'awlins while watching their teams play. read more: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/whats-at-stake-as-pac-12-mountain-west-and-american-athletic-conference-plan-their-futures/amp/
