  1. Color me very impressed. This is a quality Memphis team and we went toe to toe with them!
  2. But Roth does not allow for very much money to be saved so it is very limited in scope.
  3. We also lost our best WR and he would have made a big difference.
  4. MEMPHIS — The UNT men’s basketball team faces No. 21 Memphis on the road Sunday afternoon aiming to earn the program’s first road win over an AP Top 25 opponent since their 79-73 win at No. 15 Louisville on Feb. 27, 1971. Tip-off Sunday from the FedEx Forum is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPN. North Texas (10-3) is coming off a dramatic 78-75 conference opening win over UAB at home on Tuesday. The Mean Green made an 18-point comeback and senior Atin Wright sank a game winning buzzer beater to give UNT’s fourth straight victory. Sunday they face a nationally ranked Tigers (11-3) team that played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country and has beaten three nationally ranked opponents so far and earned the nation’s most quad one and quad two wins. North Texas beat Memphis, 76-66, last season in Denton in their only meeting of the year. Sunday will be the 25th all-time meeting between the two schools but the first time they’ve played in Memphis since 1983. North Texas and Memphis were both in the Missouri Valley Conference together from 1966-74. UNT left the MVC after the 1974 season and went independent. After Sunday’s road game the Mean Green return home to the Super Pit on Jan. 8 to host Rice at at 8 p.m. CT. 5. Won’t they adjust the conference schedule to equalize out the non conference?
  6. While I appreciate the sentiment a win against a team from a lessor conference would have been preferred. We were the only AAC team to lose a bowl or one of not many it seems. That is not something to be especially proud of.
  7. I hope we are able to keep him with us.
  8. I had a great time and was sitting next to SMU season ticket holders who were very generous and kind. I was impressed with Texas State’s fan support.
  9. Testemayer looks good thusfar!
  10. DENTON, Texas – A season-high 24 points from Jaaucklyn Moore led the UNT women’s basketball team to an 84-78 victory over Tulsa inside The Super Pit on Wednesday. With Kyla Deck unavailable for the game, Moore made her first start since UNT’s win over Northwestern State on Nov. 20. The senior guard delivered by tying her career high at North Texas, matching her 24-point performance against Grambling State last season when she surpassed 1,000 career points. “Jaaucklyn Moore came in and started the game and was huge today,” head coach Jason Burton said. “It starts with what she did offensively, but she had to guard Delanie Crawford in the second half with Desiree Wooten in foul trouble. It was a tremendous game from her with how she played on both sides of the ball.” Moore was an integral part of the Mean Green taking an early lead in the first quarter and never giving it up. North Texas scored the first 12 points of the game, holding Tulsa scoreless for the first 6:04 of the game. However, the Golden Hurricane offense came to life in the second quarter, putting together a 13-2 run behind a pair of 3-pointers from Elise Hill and another one from Crawford. After UNT took a 38-32 lead into halftime, the Mean Green outscored Tulsa 26-16 in the third quarter sparked by a pair of big runs in the period. As the teams traded buckets in a fast-paced game, UNT was able to extend its lead to 16 points early in the fourth quarter and hold on late to improve to 10-4 this season and 2-0 in conference play. North Texas received valuable minutes and performances from several pieces Wednesday, including 18 points from Tommisha Lampkin. Ereauna Hardaway added 13 points and six rebounds, while Aniyah Johnson neared a double double with nine points and seven boards. Despite Crawford leading Tulsa with 22 points, the Mean Green made it tough on the Preseason All-AAC First Team selection, holding her to 9-of-20 overall 2-of-8 from 3-point range. Hill also scored 22 points for the Golden Hurricane with six 3-pointers on the day. North Texas will look to remain unbeaten in the American Athletic Conference when it travels to Memphis on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip off.

  11. I think he is a very good offensive coordinator and will probably land on his feet if things don't work out here.
  12. Got to watch the Pirates win a big one against State who is their big rival. Nice win for the AAC!
  13. Didn't we try to land him out of HS and he chose another place or whatnot?
  14. I think Tinman is that guy but he has shown flashes but not consistently.
  15. It seems like against High Point we got ourselves in quick foul trouble which was very hard to pull out of on the road. There is a reason many teams won't come to Denton to play us anymore and the same thing applies to High Point these days.
  16. Yeah I think you may be right but it is kindof a depressing thing to me.
  17. Very good info you shared. I found it very interesting. I just wish some of the UNT forefathers had been more forward looking. A good example would be why did no one ever call on Mattress Mack? The guys is worth Billions and he played football at UNT!
  18. I think I have met him at one his his famous watching parties. Great guy.
  19. Yes I noticed the ticket price changes as well. Was going to have my girlfriend buy us some as stocking stuffers until they jacked up the pricing.
  20. Damn. That is life changing money. I cannot blame him for taking that.
  21. This is sad! I don’t know what to say. I am giving virtual hugs to all the Mean Green Nation in this moment.

  23. Conference wise maybe but they have defeated some quality teams. Looking at our schedule I just can’t see that.
  24. What makes you state this? My mom attended SWT and she is excited about it.
