  1. Agreed. His pickup definitely stimulates me more than some of the rest.
  2. Yeah I was sort of hoping for that as well but not required necessarily.
  3. Tulsa is having a good year. They seem to have planned things out well.
  4. Just a question but why did we not consider him as our hire? He seemed to really care.
  5. I like this as well but he does seem very young.
  6. I hope it will get better but my faith has certainly been tested lately.
  7. North Texas quarterback transfer Chandler Rogers is head to Cal, he tells 247Sports. Rogers is a graduate transfer with one remaining year of eligibility. Rogers was one of the most productive quarterbacks in the FBS this season. He passed for 3,382 yards and 29 touchdowns against five interceptions while completing 62.2% of his passes. Rogers finished in the top 10 nationally in passing touchdowns and the top 20 in passing yards. The 6-foot, 195-pound Texas native came to North Texas during the offseason from ULM, where he spent the 2022 campaign as the starter. Rogers finished that year with 2,403 yards and 15 touchdowns while completing 67.7% of his passes. Rogers told 247Sports last week that he'd heard from from Cal, Arizona State, Syracuse, Illinois, Indiana, TCU, South Carolina, Washington, Washington State, Houston, East Carolina, Tulane and Troy, among others, in his transfer process. read more: https://247sports.com/article/transfer-portal-cal-lands-north-texas-qb-transfer-chandler-rogers-222879321/
  8. I am sorry, but I feel like Coach Morris and the staff owe us an explanation on this one. Why would Rogers choose to leave such a prolific offense? What happened behind the scenes? I think some type of explanation is warranted as it leaves us in an extremely precarious position.
  9. Deeply saddening to learn of this tonight.
  10. From Arizona State to Kentucky, and everywhere in between, FBS head coaches are pounding the table for everyone from boosters to average fans to find ways to get involved in the NIL efforts. Funding NIL has quickly become both a top priority and absolute necessity in an effort to keep up with the tops programs in college football. Maybe there's an outside-the-box solution out there that could get everyone more involved in NIL efforts? That's where this idea from Bill Busch, a veteran former college coach turned permanent radio host on 93.7 The Ticket, could come in to "make it fair, and make it fun," Busch has a background where he's coached at Nebraska during three different stints as well as stops at Ohio State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Utah, Utah State, and New Mexico State so he brings an interesting perspective of a veteran college coach to the conversation. link: https://footballscoop.com/news/this-wild-nil-idea-involving-live-in-game-donations-might-just-work
  11. An Alabama state representative has filed a bill that would allow high school athletes to make money off of their image. The legislation, HB25, sponsored by Rep. Jeremy Gray, D-Opelika, would be a name, image and likeness (NIL) bill for high school athletes. The bill is limited to the athlete and does not allow the use of “marks, including a school logo, school name, school mascot, or trademarked logo or acronym of an athletic association,” alongside some other restrictions. Alabama has had a state name, image and likeness law since 2021, one that was revised in 2022 after it was deemed stricter than the NCAA’s later regulations. The NCAA allows college athletes are allowed to profit from their image, name and likeness under NCAA NIL, according to NCSA Recruiting, ranging from the use of merchandise to autographs to running camps and clinics. According to The Hill, at least 30 states and Washington, D.C. have legislation that allows high school students to make money off of their image. link: https://www.al.com/news/2023/12/alabama-lawmaker-files-bill-allowing-nil-money-for-high-school-athletes.html
  12. I agree but a lot of the fun of following college sports was watching players progress and develop in your program. I don't think we are the only ones belly aching about this either. You have lower and mid P5's losing a lot of their key players as well. This may be great for the players, and I am all for them being compensated but it is terrible for the sport they play. If anyone should be punished it should be the coaches and University administrators who have pocketed billions off the backs of the players. Let them share their TV revenue which goes into the billions with the players instead of the poor fans.
  13. Happy Birthday!
  14. Good observation.
  15. Same ole NT.
  16. What does this mean for us now? It seems like this is goodbye for us now and I wasn't yet ready to give up something that I treasure so much.
  17. A very sad day for North Texas.
  18. Looks like Dixon did play.
  19. Buggs with 6 boards is impressive.
  20. I don't think you are crazy at all. We got the offense thing figured out. We just need to shore up the defense and should be ok.
  21. Sounds like a reasonable, safe hire post Jimbo contract.
  22. Has Smallwood played for us or is this just more of a decision on his part to get more PT? Honestly no idea.
  23. Rogers got hit out of bounda that was dirty!
