Agree 100% on Moore . Give him 3 minutes per half to get him experience. 2 minutes per half to Morgan too.

Breaking: North Texas Hires Gary as DL Coach
BleedingGreen replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Being a head coach has a lot to do with great leadership. We have hired Coach Morris banking on him being a great leader AND football mind. You can not measure the coaching staff until they come under this leader and until they get a chance to prove themselves in this system. Leaders build leaders. Let's give Coach Morris a chance to do that. -
When Abou is out, the UNT offense iooks like that of the Mavs: Give the ball to Luka / Tylor and let him do his thing and "I don't want the ball because Luka / Tylor is in charge." The difference is Luka is big and can get his own shot whenever. Tylor is 5'11 and can't do the same consistently (no knock on Tylor at all as it is a size thing. So, what's the answer? 1.) Abou not in foul trouble and the offense runs similar to when it did with Zach in the middle as Abou draws similar attention. 2.) If Abou is in foul trouble, then we need Kai to dribble penetrate too and get the ball rotating. Open shots are better for Stone, Rubin and Eady. 3.) Tylor can continue to do his thing but not every possession so he gets a break once in a while and so the offense has some mix to its flow.

3 keys to victory 1. Abou established in he paint and not in foul trouble 2. Shoot 40% from 3 point range 3. Perimeter defense holds FAU to under 30% beyond the arc. (I'm a genious....no Captain Obvious)

Ousmane with 37 points and 11 boards last night!
BleedingGreen replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I hope the opponent focus on Abou contributes to better 3 point % with ball movement. Tylor is a really good shooter. We need others to shoot a bit better. -
Get Germany in foul trouble and it’s a blowout. If he gets Abou in foul trouble, it could be really close .

North Texas Football Staff Tracker
BleedingGreen replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
You don’t know what you don’t know and none of us know. So….I am excited about the possibilities. Younger coaches who can relate to players , who have passion, and likely have been humble in learning from other coaches to get them to this point. -
Rock Hill TE de-commits from UNT

We must move quick . We also lost a juco OL, Deonte Bowie, who had interest to South Florida. -
Free throws must improve. I would like to see Moore and Morgan get a few more meaningful minutes as you never know how injuries can continue and cause more need for them .
-
Totally agree. We are going to have to find the hidden gems and it will take great scouting to find them The NIL is making it tougher to get the 3 stars or above.

I really appreciate the kind of players we recruit as people . The coaches can work with these guys and get the best out of these players Kind of like the Spurs philosophy of signing players. We look better the last two years at this point in the season than probably any team over the last 30 years of me watching us play, except for maybe the Josh White team that beat the Big 12 team at the Pit.

He didn't have the name of our school correct so that was a sign. -
I like it, and I like the idea of Tylor mentoring him.

North Texas Lands Dayton Center Moulaye Sissoko
BleedingGreen replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in UNT Basketball Recruiting
I like having multiple big men but I must agree with Andrew that both should play minutes . Hopefully Martinez and Morgan both play at the 4 giving us rotation of 4 for those two spots. Scott interchange at the 3 and 4 too .- 6 replies

He is a leader and seems like a great young man. Any school would be fortunate to have him.

UNH Forward Jayden Martinez Commits
BleedingGreen replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Stay Drez stay ! Reese left and hit a half court GW, sure . But. No tournament! Stay ! -
I wish but not likely . AAC will be multi bid annually .
-
I don't doubt what Coach and the team can do but the prospects of going to the tournament are so small with only one bid . With UAB and MTSU looking real tough next year, I am guessing he also wants to go back to the tournament and would be hoping for an SEC school with a good chance.

What's going on with Chris Morgan? I didn't see his name mentioned in Brett Vito's article about the prospects of next year? I assume he took a red shirt. I only went to one road game as I am out of town. Was he on the bench?
