Not sure about the assistant pool but Seth is in good shape when you factor in other than compared to Gus, Dana and Luke are leaving. Ken at Navy is making more. I think where we are in trouble is the assistant pool.

Based off what I am reading on the NCAA site It looks like he may be eligible? Not sure. NCAA Division I – An athlete must not have participated in more than three contests or 30 percent of their season schedule (whichever is greater) and not after the halfway point of the season (based on the number of contests rather than a particular date).

Do you consider Head a good choice as well?

I found this and thought it explained the difference pretty well: After losing head coach Tom Herman to Texas and notching 22 wins in two seasons, Houston president Renu Khator famously declared at a 2016 school holiday party that "the winning is defined at University of Houston as 10-2. We'll fire coaches at 8-4." Indeed, Herman's successor, Major Applewhite, got fired after going 7-5 and 8-5 in 2017 and '18.

UTEP Coach deserves consideration too because he is fairly new I think.

I saw Jace throwing the ball on the sidelines during several games last season and thought he had similar arm strength to Mason.
