Well the simple response to that is they don't generate the revenue, the players do. I see your point and agree it will be a mess. The only thing that might help this is if coaches and administrators took a haircut. Seth is the highest paid employee at UNT by a lot. It's not fair that he and Wren make so much and the players struggle to pay their bills when the players are the ones who put their health out on the line for the game.

10-2. I think this is one if not the easiest schedule we have had. I think we will lose to SMU and Memphis and that's it! The only other game I am worried about is nUTSAck because they will want revenge but I think they will be demoralized early in the season with their tough non conference schedule.

If Seth wins the opener agasinst a big UTEP crowd in an even line game can he be forgiven for his past failures?

Also my key question for those who can make it, how will they determine which players get the most of the donations to the NIL? Will there be a committee formed to determine it? Because this is only the fourth day of practice, I take all "first team/secondnd team" stuff with a huge grain of salt, because this is the time of camp where coaches are still experimenting with players in different positions before they really lock things down to get the best players on the field. Therefore, I am more focused on individual players at this stage. All of that said, here are my notes. — Overall, the pace of practice is extremely fast — like really fast. They get a ton of reps in because of it. — QB Tanner Mordicai looks great. He has clearly worked a lot on his deep ball and making it more catchable rather than trying to throw the perfect pass every time. He has improved significantly from the spring. He threw a beautiful deep ball to WR Rashee Rice, who made a fingertip catch and ran it in for the touchdown. IMHO, Tanner is well ahead of the other QBs. — QB Kevin Jennings looks the real deal, but he is clearly behind Preston Stone. Both of them don't make as quick decisions as Mordecai and are forced to use their legs more. To be fair, some of that may be due to quick decision making, and some may be due to playing behind backup offensive linemen against a really deep defensive line. — At WR, Rice loos like a pro. He looks like a true top class WR, and is going to have a monster year. He looks bigger, stronger, faster, runs great routes and catches the ball extremely well. — Rice, Beau Corrales, Jake Bailey, Jordan Kerley, Dylan Goffney, Moochie Dixon, Roderick Daniels, Teddy Knox and Austin Upshaw all look like legit WR to me. It is a very deep WR core. A lot of folks have been talking up Dixon, Knox and Corrales as newcomers, but there are two others that stand out to me. A change to the schedules across Conference USA will bring North Texas to Bowling Green for the first time since 2016. The Mean Green parlayed a strong finish to the 2021 season into a good offseason, according to head coach Seth Littrell, and the program will be making the trip to Houchens-Smith Stadium to face Western Kentucky on Oct. 29. It will be the Hilltoppers’ homecoming game. “Really excited about this group. The things they’ve done this offseason to prepare and continue to build our culture, our leadership and the way they’ve worked has been awesome to watch,” Littrell said at the C-USA Football Kickoff at Globe Life Field in Arlington. “I think our culture’s as good as it’s been in a long time – maybe since I’ve been here.” WKU and North Texas haven’t played since Nov. 12, 2016, when the Hilltoppers came out on top 45-7 en route to a second straight C-USA title. The Hilltoppers have won the last four games in the series to tie it 4-4 entering this fall’s tilt – the final between the two programs before the Mean Green make the move to the American Athletic Conference next year. The reason this fall’s game was added to the schedule was because of conference realignment. C-USA was forced to reshuffle the league schedule following the departure of Marshall, Southern Miss and Old Dominion for the Sun Belt Conference. WKU’s game against UAB the week before was also added in the changes, and the league this year is eliminating divisions and pitting the top two teams in league play against each other in the championship game. I think you have a very valid point. It seems like the ex Baylor/Briles tree coaches are running things (Philly, Mike and Clements) etc. And honestly I am just fine with that! These guys know what they are doing.

There was a guy on here awhile back @UNTflyer that seemed to have a lot of inside knowledge on the stadium. Hope he will return someday as I find the story pretty interesting.

I'm same age range and agree totally. Being out of town I used to plan my weekends around traveling to games. Not anymore. I just don't see this going anywhere under the current regime.
