  1. We don’t look very good or Nazarene is really good.
  2. If you could guarantee me that we would could get a better coach in here that had a higher ceiling I would be game. I just worry that all of you separatists are assuming our next hire will be a good one. How do we know the next guy won’t be Dan McArmy? UNT is terrible at hiring if you haven’t noticed.
  3. i found this and thought it provided some good information on Fuente and what happened to him at Va Tech: https://virginiatech.sportswar.com/message_board/vtfootball/6367bf4d719f3a00130a0ac0
  4. Weather.com just updated to sunny sky’s and 70s weather for the 3pm start. Why cancel the bonfire and parade?
  5. Maybe Larry? I agree wholeheartedly on your other points. One thing that could take us to the UCF Cincy levels would be more quality linemen with size. I really think Coach Clem could do that for us given a new contract and time. i would also like to see us get taller on the edge defensively and in the secondary. We don’t have enough safeties. Look at UTSA they have tones of them. They are big and fast.
  6. Not my first choice cause he’s not familiar with Texas but neither was Matt Rhule and he worked out ok.
  7. I am 100% behind Seth and very pleased with this run the team seems to be on. That said, Wren has to look at the whole picture. He did not hire Seth and he really needs a big FB hire to help his own job prospects. Additionally, and most importantly, Seth must - absolutely must have to answer for the sins of the past. One example of this is the SMU game. SMU is not good, yet Seth allowed them to ruin our attendance for the rest of the year by making them look like Alabama early in the season. That one game hurt UNT in so many ways it is truly indescribable and Seth has to pay a price for it. Seth should not be able to sweep these lost opportunities under the rug and pretend like it didn’t happen. Another example is his QB choices. Jason Martin, JD Head, Grant Gunnell, Kade Pearson, Armani Gilmore the list goes on forever. Heck even Mason Fine had no other offers and Seth didn’t even recruit him it was Grant Harrell!
  8. I agree with your ideas. And I think Seth would be willing as well. He could retire here and I’d be ok with it so long as we are winning games.
  9. He played a fantastic game. He was the best QB I have ever seen him be today. Wow… if he played like that all the time he would have interest from the NFL with his size and speed.
  10. I would settle for Deon.
  11. Damn man who is #45? He is a good rusher?
  12. I think Austin has looked good today. Looks like Seth is fighting and showing courage today.
  13. Love Johnny but god people hate motivational speakers by in large.
  14. Wow you were not kidding. I had no idea this site kept records back to when it started. The sarch feature can uncover some crazy posts from decades ago lol.
  15. INSTEAD OF A bank vault or a Brink's truck, the betting slips from what could be the largest payout in sports gambling history are being guarded by nothing more than an old, tattered Houston Astros backpack. On a recent Tuesday afternoon in Houston, with the MLB playoffs about to begin, the faded blue nylon bag -- its contents worth potentially millions -- sits on the floor of the massive Gallery Furniture showroom, just within arm's reach of its owner: the Houston furniture magnate and Astros superfan Jim McIngvale, better known around these parts and in the world of high-stakes sports gambling as Mattress Mack. Lanky and seemingly equal parts ears, teeth, cowboy boots and charisma, McIngvale has been a household name in Houston for decades thanks to his wacky TV commercials and his Ross Perot delivery. "I just have what you might call a high tolerance for risk," McIngvale says. "Damon Runyon said 'All horse players die broke.' And I know I shouldn't bet with my heart, but it's hard not to and it's a lot more fun." In 2017, McIngvale gained national attention for opening his doors and sheltering hundreds of victims of Hurricane Harvey for weeks inside his furniture showroom, something he also did after Hurricane Katrina years prior. After the storm, as the Astros continued their historic run to the 2017 World Series, McIngvale was in the news yet again, this time for an only-in-Texas furniture promotion through which anyone who bought a mattress from Gallery Furniture would get it for free if the Astros won it all. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34870415/houston-astros-superfan-mattress-mack-lose-no-matter-wins-world-series
  16. I sort of see the Rice game as being Seth's last stand and very impactful to his future career whether he satys at North Texas or not. To the outside world, that thinks North Texas is a barren wasteland, it would be very impressive to see how many bowls he led us to. I could honestly see him get another HC gig like say that coach at Ohio or at Texas A&M Commerce etc.
  17. I appreciate your optimism but worry that beating WKU on the road will be tough. Does anyone know the last time we beat them on the road?
  18. I was one that agreed with Wren to give Seth the season but now I am seeing our direct competitors in the American who are making moves sooner which means they will get conversations with the best candidates sooner. I am now fully in the camp that we need to make a decision on Seth sooner than later!
