I chose UNT out of high school because they had a good accounting program where you got your Masters in 5 years. Lived in West for most of it, Cement city for one semester and after that the Pearl on University. Had a blast during my time there and really never wanted it to end. I think we had more than our share of hot coeds.

DALLAS – UNT softball placed a league-high seven players on All-Conference USA teams including three first-team selections, the league announced on Tuesday. Junior infielder Kailey Gamble collected her second consecutive first-team award and third all-league honor of her career. She was joined on the first team by senior pitcher Ashley Peters and sophomore infielder Cierra Simon, both of whom appeared on all-conference teams last season. Junior catcher Kalei Christensen, junior infielder Mikayla Smith and junior pitcher McKenzie Wagoner picked up second-team honors after each received C-USA player of the week awards this season. Redshirt-Freshman infielder Tatum Sparks was recognized as a member of the All-Freshman Team. The group is the second-most players named to postseason all-conference teams after UNT placed nine players in 2021. The Mean Green are set to open its C-USA Championship in Ruston, La. North Texas will face the winner between Middle Tennessee and Louisiana Tech on Wednesday at 5 p.m. on ESPN+.

I see not one beat writer that doesn’t try to pump up the program when given a chance. Every beat has positive, fun stories too. Vito rarely does anything positive that I can see although I refuse to pay his subscription fees and this do not read much from him anymore. I know I am not alone in that opinion.

Trying to stay positive but this is a tough one to take! SMU just gave UNT the middle finger. -

Look you are being nice but can't the guy pull off an LSU flag if he is representing UNT for goodness sakes? Is that asking too much? The only reason he should have an LSU flag is if got his Masters there or something. -
DENTON, Texas (April 26, 2023) – Head coach Jason Burton has announced another strong addition to his staff as he has named former Texas A&M-Commerce standout player and coach Princess Davis as the Director of Player Development and Recruiting. Davis comes to UNT after spending the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach on Burton’s staff at Commerce. She helped lead the Lions in their transition to Division I and was crucial piece in helping them advance to the semifinal of the Southland Conference Tournament. In her role for the Lions, she was responsible for coordinating junior college recruiting, working with guards, assisting in scouting opponents, serving as an academic mentor, and had a role in the social media outreach efforts. Prior to her one season at TAMUC, Davis served as an assistant coach at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas for two seasons. In her time with the Lady Cardinals, Davis was on the staff for a pair of NJCAA Tournament runs, including 2020-21 when TVCC finished as the national runner up in the NJCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. In just two seasons, Davis mentored five NJCAA all-region academic players, seven all-conference honorees, eight all-region players, a NJCAA Region XIV Freshman of the Year, and a pair NJCAA All-Americans. Davis was also a standout on the court TAMUC, playing with the Lions from 2014-19. No A&M-Commerce women’s basketball player has played, started, or won more games than Davis, who was one of Burton’s first recruits in Commerce. The Shreveport, Louisiana, native ended her Lion career second in assists, third in points, and first in minutes played. She averaged 11.3 points and 3.6 assists per game and was named an all-conference player three times as well as the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014-15. She was also honored as an All-American in 2017-18. Additionally, Davis was part of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s “So You Want to Be a Coach” training program in 2019, before playing professionally in Europe for ZKK Plamen Pozega in Pozega, Croatia. After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology & Sport Studies from A&M-Commerce in 2018, Davis also received her master’s degree in counseling at A&M-Commerce in 2020.

Hale: "The jump" is really a two-part question. There are certainly programs that could join the Big 12 or ACC or Pac-12 and, within a couple years, field competitive teams. But is there a program out there that would also have a chance to grow into a serious brand -- something that moves the needle financially? The additions for the Big 12 (BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF) were about adding the next-best things, not creating true value for a league that just lost two genuine brands. The Pac-12's flirtations with San Diego State or SMU offer some upside with two programs more than capable of winning, but will they become must-see TV for Oregon or Washington fans when their teams face off? There's always long-term growth potential with places like USF or North Texas -- but that's a matter of decades, not years. And there are established fan bases for schools like Memphis or Navy, but they're far from crown jewels that would fetch a hefty TV deal. The truth is, the entire idea of the Power 5 may be irrelevant soon, and the teams that truly move the needle in the big picture do so because of decades of success and fan investment. It's nearly impossible to create that now at places where it doesn't already exist. READ MORE: https://abc7news.com/sports/what-does-the-future-of-realignment-look-like-in-college-football/13188289/
