  1. I have met George at some alumni events and also co-served on a committee and I have to say, he is one of the finest representative of this University I have ever know. Also guy is super smart!
  2. And what are you doing to change it? Other than complain. Yeah that's what I thought.
  3. Could be headed to The Supreme Court? Battle brewing after federal appeals court sides with UNT over who pays in-state tuition: https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/battle-brewing-after-federal-appeals-court-sides-with-unt-over-who-pays-in-state-tuition/3297694/
  4. Replaced with what? I thought they looked good as they were.
  5. I don't know man a rollover crash near campus where students walk? That is pretty damn serious.
  6. 7.11.23 - Caesar's sportsbook has UNT +10 https://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/matchups/california-vs-north-texas/
  7. Is this Cal game the biggest of Morris' career? Caesar's has us as a 10-point dog at home. Seems like he would be feeling a lot of heat for this game and the need for a win.
  8. I saw a lot of errors in this. Not a lot of tome put into this one unfortunately.
  9. I was very touched to receive mine. Mean Joe is a very generous alumnus to do such nice things for the fans. He is really something special.
  10. That's just not realistic. You have to have some sort of consistency to ever build anything that is solid. There is a saying, “If the gardener does his job, everything will be fine.” UNT administration has not been a very good gardner in my opinion.
  11. I for one am not accepting this theory. We have only consistently funded athletics for about 7-8 years if that. Past leaders used athletics for what it would provide but did not provide the money it takes to be successful and attract support and donations. SO it will not miraculously have 50K alums start giving when there has been no success and it looks like a bad investment. If we could win and win consistently I think we would see some huge numbers of donations but I will not allow you to say we deserved more money from alums when there were very little results to get excited about. Look at Apogee, until this Cal opener how many big programs have we even had come play here? Very few. Would Baylor or TCU break attendance records if they were spending years in the Big West and Sun Belt? I seriously doubt it. They struggle with attendance now.
  12. On July 1, the 11-team American Athletic Conference subtracts three of its members and adds six. Overall the conference expands to 14, matching the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC as the largest conferences for the 2023 football season. Nearly half of the AAC will be comprised of former CUSA newcomers. Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Rice, UAB, and UTSA are among the six institutions making the transition, a move which has been in the works since October 2021. But how will these teams fare in year one as AAC members? When the AAC was founded from the remnants of the Big East in 2013, UCF captured the conference title in its inaugural season, fresh off a transition from the CUSA. Ten years later, could any of the six CUSA additions see similar success? Among the six rising AAC members, only two retains their head coaches from the 2022 season — Rice and UTSA. Thus, the majority of these programs are not only transitioning conferences, but breaking in a new era from a personnel standpoint as well. With reigning champion Tulane returning plenty of firepower, mixed in with lofty expectations for perennial standouts Memphis and SMU, a conference title might not be the realistic expectation for the majority of the six teams. But there is at least one bona fide contender among the newcomers. read more: https://www.underdogdynasty.com/platform/amp/2023/6/28/23752724/former-cusa-team-best-poised-aac-success-2023-charlotte-fau-north-texas-unt-rice-uab-utsa-football
  13. I liked his position. He didn't oversell it if that makes sense. He did make some very valid points. The Big 12 and PAC 12 should not get to be grouped with the P5 designation. There should be a P2 for the SEC and Big 10 period. The rest of us are in the same place. Also, I was pleased to hear him address the challenges head on including the NIL and Portal which were not an issue when they started up the AAC 10 years ago.
  14. I seems like we did do this back at Fouts. Not sure why not at Apogee. I always enjoyed it.
  15. Not the best for everyone. Makes no difference to me distance wise but I amwill miss the bars and whatnot they had at the Jerry practice fields.
  16. Yeah but then again, who gives a gosh darn about New Mexico, Utah State, Fresno State and Wyoming?💤🥱💤
  17. Ingleside senior athlete Jaydon Smith, whose recruiting profile surged late during the spring semester, announced his commitment to play football at North Texas on Monday afternoon on his Twitter account. Smith, who was one of the Corpus Christi area's best multi-sport athletes, shined as a returner, cornerback and receiver as a junior for the Mustangs which went 8-3 in 2022. The Mustang held offers from nine schools in early May including Washington, Boston College, Air Force, Nebraska and the Mean Green. read more: https://www.caller.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2023/06/20/inglesides-smith-announces-commitment-to-play-football-at-north-texas/70336473007/
  18. Yep, they will all realize that having the 9 game conf schedule is not good for your career lol
  19. This one is a real head scratcher. He’s good enough for Carthel at SFA but not for us? Just seems like he may have been one we should have kept.
  20. Need to be prepared for this as it looks like most of their top picks are from AAC.
