  1. Wow - that is hugely disappointing. Maybe just one bad game?
  2. I think Allen could end up starting as well. He seems to be the guy everyone missed out on as he is a real talent on both sides of the floor. And he has good size so he can defend a post.
  3. The thing your article so nicely illustrates is how quickly Rogers makes his decisions. That was the problem with Earle, he got nervous and could not decide. I truly hope you will keep writing as I really enjoy your style. Makes you feel like you are in the action.
  4. I think SMU going to ACC makes us more attractive to other schools trying to get into Texas for various reasons like recruuting and whatnot.
  5. Sorry that was a typo. I was speaking to Robertson.
  6. Guy was another big portal loss for this program on defense as he is making plays all over the field for SMUt against TCU today.
  7. Agree but I would like to see bigger at every position.
  8. We need to hope that they get this done. It will help us to have some guardrails.
  9. The UNT La Tech game last night was pretty ho-hum for 3 quarters but ended up having a thrilling ending, with UNT coming out on top by a score of 40-37. The Bulldogs trailed for much of the game, but they mounted a furious and respectable comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 straight points to tie the game at 37-37 with just over a minute to play. However, the Mean Green were able to drive down the field and kick a game-winning field goal as time expired by expert footman Noah Rauschenberg. North Texas quarterback Chandler Rogers had a stellar game, throwing for >300 yards and three touchdowns. Mean Green running back Ayo Adeyi also had a big day, rushing for 150 yards and a touchdown. Louisiana Tech was led by quarterback Jack Turner who passed for 145 yards. I thought the game was a great example of college football at its best. Both teams played hard and there were several lead changes throughout the game. In the end, North Texas was able to make the big plays when it mattered most. The officials had their struggles though and there were a few missed calls. In particular a late hit/roughing the QB call on Chandler Rogers sticks out it my minds eye. That one really bothered me for some reason. I was particularly impressed with the comeback effort by Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs were down by 17 points in the fourth quarter, but they never gave up. They were able to score 17 unanswered points to tie the game, but unfortunately they fell short in the end. Their fans came up to us after the game and stated “what could we have done better?” To which I replied dryly “not a thing you all were good hosts. Can you please point me in the direction of the freeway?” Overall, I thought the UNT La Tech game was a great game to watch. It was exciting from start to finish and there were several big plays made by both teams. If there is ever an opening in the American conference I would like to see La. Tech considered. But not before Army.

  11. Here’s my question, if the PAC survives and picks off the best of the Mountain West would we (AAC) be interested in their leftovers? I hope not! ————— The future of the Mountain West may rest in a legal complaint filed Friday in the eastern Washington town of Colfax at the Whitman County Courthouse, which sits along the South Fork Palouse River, across the street from a car wash and a couple blocks down Main Street from Pearson Farm & Fence. That’s where Washington State and Oregon Statefiled a joint civil action in state superior court against the Pac-12, essentially requesting full control of the conference’s name, brand and assets. “At its core,” the 16-page complaint states, “this is a dispute over who has the authority to act on behalf of the Pac-12 Conference. Only judicial intervention can resolve this dispute.” If the Pac-12’s two remaining members prevail, it’s considered the first step in re-imagining the beleaguered conference with San Diego State and select (but maybe not all) members of the Mountain West. Lose, and the Pac-12 likely dissolves — and Washington State and Oregon State would have few viable alternatives other than joining the existing Mountain West. read more: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecs/story/2023-09-08/san-diego-state-sdsu-aztecs-conference-realignment-washington-oregon-state-legal-action-pac-12-mountain-west

  13. Proud of you and Sigma Chi!
  14. Good write up JD. I hope you are right. I just worry about them being on the road for the first time.
  15. I think this site is great. Always active and interesting. Maybe a little too much so after losses though!
