  1. This is one of the best threads I've ever seen on a message board. Mind if I "steal" it for the Miami board?
  2. DICK will be fine as long as we give him his daily Viagra. As for me, I've always been partial to North Texas State Normal College. Back in the days when we danced the Jitterbug with flapper girls. 😍
  3. DICK is actually a very knowledgeable college sports fan, but he's old school. He still refers to Oklahoma State as Oklahoma A&M. 😉
  4. Your coach hasn't won a bowl game and our coach hasn't beaten an FBS opponent outside the MAC. Something gotta give! 😄
  5. Actually we (Miami University) don't do that since we're well aware of where we're located. The (OH) is simply for the historically and geographically challenged. As we say, Miami was a university when Florida belonged to Spain.
  6. Radabaugh was a Coppell Cowboy. Pretty good high school pitcher too. Part of a Cowboy pitching staff that included Corey Kluber.
  7. Well, that probably means Miami's offensive output will look like this... 65 yards rushing and 300 yards passing 😬
  8. Hearing that you guys have a DT with the size, skill, and athleticism to play in the NFL is not exactly good news for us or Miami's offensive line 😄
  9. Does UNT have any guys that might be drafted or signed as undrafted free agents next year? Besides Sorenson I think Sterling Weatherford and DE Dom Robinson will be signed as undrafted free agents, and possibly DE Ben Kimpler.
  10. Very true. I guess we will have to wait and see regarding Sorenson.
  11. He's fun to watch for sure. They say Sorenson will be a late rounder or a FA, think Julian Edelman-type guy, but I think he's probably just a hair too small for the NFL.
  12. Some would say Cincinnati. Others would say Ohio Univ. The Cincinnati rivalry has lost a lot of its shine lately since they have won the last 15 (note that it took a streak of 15 wins for them to tie the overall series). Thanks, and safe travels to you too (particularly if you're on I-35, lol).
  13. Miami had several guys from Texas, mostly the Houston area, on the roster from around 2009-2012. That was due mainly to the head coach at the time, Michael Haywood (a Houston native). Haywood was on Mack Brown's staff at Texas in the early 2000s along with DC Bull Reese, who served as Haywood's DC at Miami. We haven't had any players from Texas since (I think), but why we would? Our recruiting grounds are Ohio, Penn., Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois, though we go south (Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina) for speed.
  14. Because it obscures the numbers on the jerseys? 😄
  15. What kind of shape is that Bermuda grass field at Toyota Stadium going to be in on Thursday (Dec. 23rd) if it rains on Tuesday (Dec. 21st) during the UTSA - San Diego State game? I hope the Frisco Football Classic doesn't turn into a Mud Bowl Classic.
  16. Aside from running the ball on 2nd and 10, Miami has no offensive philosophy, lol. Running backs are very young and by committee. You'll see at least 4 featured backs. Our QB is Brett Gabbert. If the last name sounds familiar he is Blaine Gabbert's younger brother. Gabbert was hurt quite a bit early in the season, but had he been healthy he probably would have been 1st team All-MAC (He was named third team). WR Jack Sorenson is the big receiving threat. He was 1st team All-MAC and his numbers this season were pretty spectacular. The O-line is fairly young, but not inexperienced. Probably better pass protectors than they are run blockers. The defense is the strength of the team, though prone to give a big play now and then. LBs Ivan Pace (MAC defensive POY) and Matthew Salopek (3rd All-MAC) are tough as nails in all aspects of the game. We have four DEs who we rotate in and out a lot, and they are all equally good pass rushers and run stoppers. DEs Kam Butler, Lonnie Phelps, and Dom Robinson are All-MAC selections (Robinson was selected to play in the senior bowl). The secondary is lead by safety Sterling Weatherford (2nd team All-MAC). Our CBs give opposing receivers too much of a cushion in my opinion. What can I say about our head coach Chuck Martin? He has a lot of us pulling our hair out most of the time. Kind of a hard nosed guy who the players apparently love, but his game and clock management has most of us needing Rogaine (from pulling our hair out). 17. Greeting UNT fans. Miami fan here. Our athletic department sent out a link to the Axs website for Redhawk fans to purchase tickets. Our (Miami) options for seating were limited to Sections 103-105 and 107-109 via the Axs site. I tried multiple times to purchase tickets yesterday and it was a complete pain in the a$$. I would select my seats and then select "purchase" and kept receiving a message that time had expired for purchase. My tickets were in the cart for less than a minute and they timed me out? WTF? Finally, late last night I tried Axs again, only this time using my phone and the purchase went through. Anyhow, it seems like things are being put together for this game fast and kind-of-half-ass.
