Hes the safe option id get if you absolutely cant get Patterson, Riley, Grimes or Keeler

Seths downfall can be attributed to a few things: 1. Lack of wins in big games including Conference Championships and Bowl games 2. Lack of any serious care about defense until Year 6 3. Lack of QB development outside of Fine 4. Poor offensive line play until Year 6 5. Poor hires in the middle of his tenure 6. Being paid like one of the best coaches in the G5 without having the results to be one. He started off hot and set the bar high enough for him to get paid but he could never get back to where he set it thus he was fired

While ive seen that he wants to return to CFB, i think it will be in a OC capacity or something along those lines. Ive seen him suggested as an OC candidate for A&M and a potentially very highly paid WR coach at Texas. Not sure he’d be interested in being the HC at UNT and on top of that, not sure UNT wants someone without HC experience

I think he was a good guy who helped elevate UNT and put hs on the National stage a few times and I’m thankful for that. The sad part is that he couldn’t get past mediocrity which is why hes no longer the UNT HC

I just saw that the OU Offensive Line coach said its a joke that UNT fired Littrell and then all the OU fans agree and said they hope we don’t win for a long time and act like we treated him horribly or that we should just accept mediocrity as its better than we’ve ever been before. Screw them

Hard pass. Hes a good offensive mind who hasn’t proven enough to be a HC yet and i see him simply being another Littrell. UNT needs to hire someone with HC experience

Yeah i mean its true. Defense was never great but he made them significantly better and helped Littrell develop some as a HC. Sadly it wasn’t enough to fix all of the issues

Gary Patterson would be the dream but id suspect they more than likely go after Garrett Riley, Jeff Grimes, KC Keeler, Colby Carthel, Kendal Briles or Justin Fuente. Patterson has a nice and easy job with the Donghorns so, unless he misses being a HC, he wont leave. Im betting Garrett Riley is the first call after Patterson (if they actually reach out) and then pursue whoever is next on the list if needed. If its not any of those coaches ive named then ill be shocked

That doesn’t feel like a big jump upwards. Hes had a lot of success at CC and Liberty isn’t a P5 job or anything. Guess money talks

If Littrell is still at UNT then don’t renew them. Its just more of the same

I had UNT at 6-6 before the season and had hope as the season went on that we might finish 9-3 potentially but if course Littrell choked as usual. Now we’re sitting at 7-6 and are likely going to achieve the rare record of 7-7

UNT is an average sports school at best and wants to stay that way

If they would’ve just offered him the extra money he wanted for assistants then he’d be there and K State would be 6-6 at best

I got slammed for writing an opinion piece for a UNT outlet about how Briles could be a potential Head Coach for UNT. And I wasn’t even necessarily campaigning for him but just asking for a change and was going to do a whole series about a few coaches. So have fun with the response to this lol

Hes been building the program over these years and, best of all, he has a QB in his Junior season who just keeps getting better and has been talked about since his Freshman season as having great potential which is now on full display. Honestly i think Pratt(QB) is the biggest difference by far

Im just making fun of how we’re stuck in this and it will probably continue with the next AD

UNT will hire an AD who will give Littrell a 1 year extension and we’ll have another year of this crap atleast and potentially 2 if we’re so unlucky
