These are the best helmets in UNT history!
Glory to the Green replied to cousin oliver's topic in Mean Green Football
I still kick myself for not buying the polo during the game. Probably the biggest regret of my life. Probably… -
I’m not quite ready to move on from SL. But if WB is going aggressive, then it must be because he has an ace in the hole. If he hires the football version of GMac, of course I’d be okay moving on. But letting SL go with no contingency plan would be silly to me. No, I don’t want a Stockstill. If SL can win 6-8 games in the first year of the AAC, I think that’d be a solid year one in a better conference. What’s your expectation in year one of the AAC?
-
You may be right. Those were embarrassing losses, man.
-
I understand this sentiment, but I don’t share it. Obviously, this season needs to go better than most of us expected at the start of the year. Who knows exactly what that means? WB?, hopefully I don’t believe another 6-6 bowl is gonna cut it, though. I’m certain WB already has a list.

Ha! I don’t think I am, but to each their own. If you send me the link, I’ll purchase those bad boys. GMG!

It was a clip. I didn’t listen to the entire postgame. If I can find it, I’ll share it on here.
-
It was great seeing him! It made even more sense when he ran the ball. I think he’s out for the year, though. SL said as much in the post game.
-
I put the UNLV loss on the coaches.
-
I don’t think you’re alone. I think it’d be tough for WB to fire a 9 win coach. ETA: It’s not likely that 9 wins will happen, but it’s fun to be a fan.
-
I’m not following. We should have beat Memphis. The other two were flat out embarrassing.
-
That’s fair. I thought the Championships would have been in by now…CUSA or Bowl. SL was/is a first time head coach and from his own mouth, “I’ve made mistakes.” I think this is in coaching hires and recruits. It feels like his time here has just about run its course. Winning out would definitely change things, though. We’ll see.

Vegas thought they were better. I don’t watch enough FAU to know. They were competitive versus Purdue, whatever that means. We played better today. They dropped some passes that were likely scores, but that’s football. Rushing for over 300 is also football. I’m glad we won. We’ll find out soon just how good these teams really are. GMG!

They were 3 pt dogs today.
-
That’s funny. This team/coaching staff seem to be finding their way. The team made the plays down the stretch to finish the game. I don’t think they would have done that a few weeks ago (goal line stand, 7 min scoring drive to kill some clock, FG to make the game a three score game, allowed 7 pts in the 2nd half).
-
They don’t have to beat those teams until next year (and three are leaving). This seems like an attempt to crap on this years team. This would be a good question to ask when the season is over. With that said, I’ll play along. We beat Navy, Temple, USF. We compete/might win with ECU, Tulsa, Memphis. The rest are possible/likely losses. Looks like middle of the road if we were in the AAC this year. Back to this year and this team. It feels like a corner has been turned. Really hope KD is okay. GMG!

I’m leaning towards he’s been playing hurt up until now. I don’t have proof, just a hunch.
-
They have those awful red jerseys, too. Geez. I think I’ve turned into one of those grumps?!?! Where’s my BenGay?
-
We were there in March. Hope you get a chance to walk around. Good vibes. Enjoy!

Five game win streak….
Glory to the Green replied to Cooke County Kid's topic in Mean Green Football
I would think it’d be hard to get rid of him riding a win streak like that. Not sure how you can justify not hiring a legit QB coach moving forward, though. It seems to be the most glaring issue, right? The “I don’t teach them how to throw the ball” quote was mind boggling. -
Non Conference Home Games
Glory to the Green replied to bstnsportsfan3's topic in Mean Green Basketball
They brought Oklahoma a few years ago. It’s really tough now cause the “big boys” fear getting their ass kicked by us. It’s been said before, but there’s really no incentive to travel here for them. That said, it would be fun to see some bigger brands come to Denton. The AAC will do that by default. Excited for the jump! -
I like the flag, but the same way the basketball team uses it..as an accent. Put the flag at the back of the base of the helmet, or over their last name, or on the pants. Stuff like that. It’s hard for me to picture it as the main image on the helmet.
