    They didn’t give up 500 yards rushing, only 295. I get we held them below their season average, but Army only had the ball 7 times the entire game. Our offense tried to intentionally limit possessions to help the defense.

    The defense did give us chance to win. The offense tried to play ball control to help the defense (multiple 4 down conversions). Our 3rd quarter 3 and out drive lasting 30 seconds was the exception. Then, when we needed the ball, the strength of our team allowed a 96 yard 13 minute touchdown drive.

    You’re right. They gave us a chance to win. My largest frustration was with the 3rd quarter. Our offense needed the ball, but we couldn’t get a stop.

    I’m with you, but Morris believed we’d need the 7 points. He did not believe we would stop them. He assumed a 7-6 game would turn to 14-6. Army shortens the game. We tried to, too. We had six offensive drives the entire game! Our 3 and out really crapped the bed yesterday.

    Two red zone interceptions was the difference. Defense gave up a 96 yard 13 minute drive in the 3rd. Calling the defense a strength is a relative term. They did enough for us to win, but their inconsistency all season was the cause for calling the onside.

    Whoa! That was fun to watch! The ball seemed to move around a bit more than I’ve been used to seeing. Our defense swarms. Great first half!

    I was referring more to our 3 and outs (sometimes multiple drives) which leads to leaving our defense on the field for longer periods of time. I think a fresher defense, especially for us, will give us better results.

    I think you’re right. This is why I feel we’re going to try and put some longer drives together. Can’t have 21 point deficits in the first half and expect to win. If we keep it close, we’ll pull away in the 2nd half. Lock it up!

    This is what’s been happening. It’s very frustrating. Running through the ball carrier and/or wrapping up the ball carrier seem basic, but have not been happening. We also have times where the players seem to shy away from the ball carrier. Got fix it.

    I was there, but didn’t storm the field. I was a nervous freshman and didn’t know if I was allowed to. The other 500?, didn’t seem to mind. Some classmates participated, they told me they took it Lou’s, and he gave out free shots.

    I don’t see us storming the field, but a last second score to win would be fun and might just do it. I still remember the 2001 storming after the MTSU win. It’s memorable.

    Undefeated ranked team getting 3.5 against us is not bad. Tulane was +7.5. I’m taking UNT to win outright. GMG!

    I think we attempt to control the ball. Similar to the end of Tulane game. I think if the offense can remain patient, this will work. If we’re not patient, we’ll struggle to win the game.
