I think we will win big today
Glory to the Green replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
45-21. UNT. I think we win big, too. Big showing to close out the season. Proud of our team. New coaches, new systems, new conference, some tough losses, and this team never quit. GMG! -

ND made it a game middle of the 4th, but the ladies held them off to pull away late. Great way to start my Saturday! GMG!

Happy Thanksgiving to the largest collection of Mean Green Faithful that I know. I’m grateful to have this outlet to voice my Mean Green opinions. I’m pretty sure my wife is even more grateful than I am! Wishing you all the best. GMG!

Should Caponi get another year?
Glory to the Green replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I believe it was Grinch’s second season as DC. I know SL lost faith in the Eastern Washington coach mid season, but this situation is different. Caponi didn’t take over a top 25 defense. I see what you’re saying, but I just don’t see him getting released of his duties after the season. I could be wrong, but I don’t see it. -
I wonder about this sometimes, too. I assume its visitors that are not necessarily UNT fans.

Do we have a game this week

I thought he was going to tear up. Between him and the other interviewees today, it’s clear that they love their teammates and UNT. I’m looking forward to following his career. Seems like a great guy. -
Should Caponi get another year?
Glory to the Green replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Morris has been pretty consistent in his coachspeak/approach: Build the team through HS recruits and fill in holes with TP/JUCO. He has to hit on those TP/JUCO kids, though. Rogers, Conwright, Cleveland, and Miner have all been contributors. Smith, Weslowski, Jackson, and Sides have all gotten significant playing time as well. -

I’ve seen some promotions on Twitter. Coach O is making a push to have 800 recruits at the game. I think the Holiday week may be some of what you’re feeling. I don’t believe there’s a coaches show, either. I agree, though. It doesn’t feel like a typical game week. -

Do pick 6’s go against the defense, too? -
Should Caponi get another year?
Glory to the Green replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Right. And I don’t want it to seem like I’m dumping on the offense, either. They’ve been really really good, but we needed them to be nearly perfect for us to win. It was a tall ask versus those better teams. -

I think this is what Morris means when he says complementary football. It’s also a reason why PB’s defense improved in year two (SL ran the ball which led to fresher defenses and less possessions for the opposition). As explosive as the offense has been, they’ve come up short at times when the defense made the occasional stop. -
Towson (11/19/2023) - Charleston Classic
Glory to the Green replied to BigWillie's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I’m not saying Robert Allen is Boris Diaw, but has anyone ever seen them in the same room together? ETA: Allen made some great passes while in the post. Diaw was a very skilled passing big man. It was a compliment to Allen. -
Towson (11/19/2023) - Charleston Classic
Glory to the Green replied to BigWillie's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Agree. Towson is coming off a two game losing streak, too. Nice to see our guys commit to defense and capitalizing on those opportunities. -
Except for SMU and UTSA, right? 😂

It was discussed on one of the interviews/podcasts. The flag varies by player/family backgrounds. I believe we’ve done this all season. I think our Australian punter has an Australian flag on his. And IIRC, last years punter had the Mexico flag.

Memphis v Tulane. SMU and UTSA lose out.

I hope so, too. We can obviously score, now let’s clamp down!
