Give me a reason why we play Wyoming at home?
Glory to the Green replied to JT Hammons's topic in Mean Green Football
At one of our games a few years ago, a guy was wearing a Portland State hat just a few rows up from me. I asked him (tongue in cheek), “Hey, man. Do you have to wear that thing here?” Apparently he was on the team that beat us, moved to DFW, and now likes to attend our games. He was cool about it all. Still don’t like seeing Portland State anything, though. That game sucked. -
We haven’t even had spring ball yet. Let’s give it a full offseason and at least a complete game before rallying the “Fire Caponi” crowd.

Will we have anymore HOF players
Glory to the Green replied to southsideguy's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I’m not sure what the criteria is but these last few years have provided us with candidates: GMac, Zach Simmons, Bell, Hamlet, Perry, Jones, and Scott….. -
I think it’s start of the year all over again, but navigating the emergence of Edwards. He feels a bit bottled up right now. How good was Scott?!?! I think we’re trending up

Closed out a close game….and on the road! Congrats! I’ll be proudly sporting my Mean Green Basketball gear tomorrow! 🦅

After our first game versus Tulane (where he scored 37), my youngest son met him. My son introduced himself, then he said, “Hi. I’m Jason. Nice to meet you.” I’m a fan. Great player and seems like a really good guy.

He posts stuff like this all of the time. I’m just a fan, but this is looking good. Hoping it translates onto the field!

Tech Trying to Duck North Texas in 2027
Glory to the Green replied to Green Lantern's topic in Mean Green Football
Yeah, it’s an easy road trip for Tech fans. It will likely be a sell out. Now, if/when we beat them this Fall…I could see them licking their wounds and then trying to duck us in 2027. -

2024 Mean Green Football Predictions
Glory to the Green replied to rojomojo's topic in Mean Green Football
This is WAAAAYY too early. 2 deep predictions before spring ball would be fun. -
This loss doesn’t bother me as much. We’re not winning the regular season conference. These are just tune up games for the AAC Tournament. Before today, this team had played one half together in conference play. It felt out of sync, but I don’t think it will last. Hopefully Rubin and Noland continue getting into game shape and play more minutes. I’m begging Scott to stop committing silly fouls. He needs to take that next step to playing hard, but keeping it clean. I still believe!

Report: TE Coach Chris Gilbert headed back to UT
Glory to the Green replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
I’m confident Morris already has a list of capable replacement on hand. How many coaches have been poached for P4 jobs this offseason, 3? I think we’ve made good hires and will continue to do so. I’m excited to see who we bring in.- 23 replies

What would be your move with Rubin?
Glory to the Green replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Hodge mentioned the value of Moores minutes during the postgame on the radio. If needed, hope he’s able to continue to contribute. -

I know we have our sights on the Big Dance, but this has us in the NIT at the moment.

The team looked gassed at the end. If we can’t get at least one of our starters back, I doubt we can win 4 in 4 days. Shame injuries and lack of a bench player stepping up has hurt us so much.

Kratch that, we need a new LB Coach
Glory to the Green replied to jtm0097's topic in Mean Green Football
Of course I would wish them well. This felt a bit different. Not trashing on anyone and I’m not saying a move to a Big 12 position isn’t a big deal for Kratch. I wish him well, too. -

Glory to the Green replied to jtm0097's topic in Mean Green Football
It does feel a little strange, but going from AAC to a Big 12 is a step up. IIRC, he wasn’t a coach at Iowa St. Wish he stuck around for continuity. Interested to see who we bring in. -
Frank Harris missed a few games this past year. The team was fine. I doubt they’ll have the late game heroics that Harris gave them, but they’ll still be a good team. Traylor sure likes to gripe, man. I hope we beat them. Weep weep.

That stinks. Does he take JJ back to Ames? I’m curious who we have lined up to replace him. -
I definitely see your point, but I think if we could manage to recruit/retain more Rod Brown’s, then we’d be okay to plug-play as needed. Easier said than done, I know.
