St. Johns (11/16/23) - Charleston Classic
L Ron Studdard replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Basketball
He had 5 in the final four minutes including that huge and-1. Really the only mistake was the misread on the Rubin tapout. The play I keep going back to is the Sissoko miss that would've given us a ton of momentum.- 198 replies

Yeah, and on a missed shot clock reset no less. St. John's was looking like they were running pretty ragged and now their intensity is back. -

In the opener against a very good UNI, this team scored more than they did in any game last season. -
Yeah, I don't think he handled the ball a lot at UTSA, I'd expect Hank is right on that. Maybe he can be a better shooting (maybe not as great of a defender) JJ Murray for this year's squad.

When he shoots like this, we're a tough draw for anybody.

The ESPN data is not wrong, they just require more minutes played to qualify for stats nationally. However, even using this guy's NCAA stats rankings which are a bit more lenient in their minutes played to qualify, Buggs is #43 in them. I repeat--in what universe is a top-50 3PT% shooter on a ton of attempts per game not a great 3PT shooter? And what does any of this have to do with Tylor Perry? Everyone on this board knows Tylor Perry is fantastic, literally no one said Buggs is better than Tylor Perry.
-
Looking at ESPN, he was 34th nationally in 3PT% among qualifying players. In what universe is that not a great 3PT shooter?
-
Last season he shot 40% from three on 6.3 attempts per game for a team that gave him a lot less help than this one does.

This team is gonna win a lot of games, again.

At the start of that Temple drive, the broadcast was harping on Temple having one of the worst rushing attacks in the country. Gulp. -
Could've had him had they fired SL after the UNLV game, which they should have.

First lines have FAU as a -13.5 favorite. Comparatively, Mizzou is only -5.5 against (15) Princeton.
