  1. Yes, you are correct, this is a try out... I'm not sure if this was interpreted differently from my original post. He has not made the team... yet!
  2. I have a few good shots of the F18 Hornets as they approach and depart from over Fout's Field as soon as I have time they'll be on my site. UPDATE: The first is available, with a smaller version of the other three visible... see link below. I'll work on getting all linked to the larger photo.
  3. I spoke with Johnny yesterday at the game, and he had great things to say about the web site I have put together (see link below). I was humbled, and have since sent him a copy of a photo I had snapped of he and his girlfriend at the FAU game. This morning, I received an email from him. He mentioned in it that he leaves for Green Bay tomorrow (Mon., Nov. 12th), and arrives for practice with the team on Tuesday. Green Bay has had it's share of injuries at WR this year, current injuries at this position include: Name____________Position__Injury__Status Ruvell Martin___WR________Back____Probable Koren Robinson__WR________Knee____Probable SOURCE: http://www.nfl.com/teams/greenbaypackers/injuries?team=GB JOHNNY we wish you the best! Green Bay Packers -- give 'em a shot you won't be disappointed! Go Mean Green!

  5. So we could have started recruiting last year once we fired Dickey? This is interesting. I wonder if RV tried to start to recruit (or tried to) once the news of Dickey being fired hit the air waves. This certainly is interesting. GMG!!
  6. Sorry, I surprised you. I NEVER listen of "talk" radio, especially those on the AM side of the dial. In fact, I usually am listening to CDs or my iPod as opposed to stations on the FM side. So I guess you can say, I'm not a radio listener for the most part. Hence, my shocking post!
  7. station please? who is "dunham"? is it streaming?
  8. Agreed, there's nothing we can do in front of a keyboard that would make this topic/news go away or change. This whole week was a waste reading all these posts about the same topic. Let's move on now and talk some football, granted there's no game this weekend, but we have NAVY coming to Denton in 8 days. Let's give the "active" MEAN GREEN players some support and respect, rather then focusing on those no longer with the team, and struggling with their own issues. GMG!!!

    Wow

Wonder if someone will get a shot of the crowd that is similar to the one taken during the Baylor game a few years back when we had a huge turnout. Or, maybe someone can get an areial shot of the packed stadium... anyone up for that? GMG!!!

  11. Thanks for the confirmed info, it is apprecaited.
  12. So this will happen?? Great news!
  13. Was checking the list of available venues for a fly over to start the Navy game in 2 weeks. Does anyone know if there is any possibility that this game would be added to the list? SOURCE: http://www.navy.mil/navco/airshows/avsnov07.html Also, I had heard (probably on this board) that Roger Staubach may possibly do the coin toss. Is there any truth to this rumor as well? Looking forward to 11/10. GMG!
  14. I am curious about something I am noticing. Why are the corners playing so far off the WRs, it seems that on may occasions the corner would be up at the line or 3-4 yards off it, then just before the snap he's gone back to 10-12 yards off the line. This leaves the WRs open for the short 5-7 yard toss which we have seen against us by ULM and again by MTSU. Same can be said for hte slot receiver. If I'm the opposing OC I'm loving it and will take those all night long especially on 1st down making it 2nd/3rd and short the rest of the game. Is it lack of confidence in coverage? Is it something to do with a possible over confidence on the corners? It has been said on other posts that we lack speed. And is evident when this outside pass play opens up there is no speed to cut off the pass, or speed enough to get into position for a tackle. It's unnerving to see this continue. Which bring up another item noted by a few in the past, our tackling... it was bad the begining of the year, and has gotten better, but it's the open field tackles on punt/kick coverage that needs work as well. MTSU ripped off an average of 19.4 yards on kick returns to our 17.5, granted it's a difference in two yards, but when you're battling for field position every yard counts. I'm not calling for heads or singling out players, just curious as to whether or not this is just me seeing this as obvious. I will give the D credit they played a solid game considering the field position they were given to work with.

  18. SOURCE: http://cfn.scout.com/2/691560.html Offensive Player of the Midseason Omar Haugabook, QB Troy Defensive Player of the Midseason Frantz Joseph, LB Florida Atlantic Ten best Sun Belt players in the first half of the season 1. Corey Leonard, QB Arkansas State 7. Rusty Smith, QB Florida Atlantic 8. Tyrell Johnson, SS Arkansas State 9. Boris Lee, LB Troy 10. Tyrell Fenroy, RB UL Lafayette Biggest Surprise – Two big non-conference wins The league represented itself relatively well overall in non-conference play, and it made its biggest splash when Florida Atlantic shocked Minnesota 42-39, and Troy annihilated Oklahoma State 41-23 on national TV. Biggest Disappointment – UL Lafayette The defense had enough key parts back to be effective, while the offense was expected to be the Sun Belt's most explosive. While the O has had its moments, the defense has been non-existent, especially against the run, and a team expected to be a major challenger for the Sun Belt title has started out 1-6 overall. The Sun Belt Champion will be ... Troy. It'll all come down to the season ending showdown with a much-improved Florida Atlantic. Until then, the Trojans appear to be the class of the league, and ready to go to the New Orleans Bowl for the season straight year. Best Game of the First Half Virginia 23 ... Middle Tennessee 21, Oct. 6 Virginia survived with Chris Gould nailing a 34-yard field goal with eight seconds to go. Middle Tennessee got two first half touchdown passes from Dwight Dasher for a 14-7 lead, and got up 21-20 after converting an interception into a one-yard DeMarco McNair touchdown run midway through the fourth. The Cavalier offense got two touchdowns from Andrew Pearman and a 20-yard John Phillips touchdown catch, but had to go 63 yards in eight plays to pull get Gould in a position to win. Second Best Game – Arkansas State 35 ... Memphis 31, Sept. 29 Third Best Game – SMU 45 ... North Texas 31, Sept. 8 Worst Game of the First Half Penn State 59 ... Florida International 0, Sept. 1 Anthony Morelli threw three touchdowns passes, Austin Scott rumbled for two short scores, and the Nittany Lion defense dominated in the easy win. Penn State got up 24-0 in the first half highlighted by a 17-yard Mickey Shuler touchdown catch, and then exploded for 28 points in the third quarter. FIU managed just seven first downs and was outgained 236 yards to -3 on the ground, and 549 yards to 114 overall. Coach of the Midseason – Howard Schnellenberger, Florida Atlantic With a defense that takes away everything, and an offense that gets just enough all-around pop to get by, FAU has become a dangerous team that'll be in the hunt until the season's end. Schnellenberger has created a tremendous program, and a strong team that'll only get better. Player who'll step up in the second half – North Texas QB Giovanni Vizza The keys to the race car have been turned over to the freshman, and Todd Dodge and the coaching staff will hope they have a star to build around for the next few years. Rizza has a good arm, but his legs are just as important to the improvement of the high-octane offense. Best performance so far - North Texas QB Daniel Meager completed 46 of 64 passes for 601 yards and three touchdowns with three interceptions, and Casey Fitzgerald caught 18 passes for 327 yards and two touchdown in the loss to SMU. Top Freshman – Dwight Dasher, QB Middle Tennessee His passing has been efficient, but it's been his running that'll make the Blue Raiders dangerous for the second half of the year. He could grow into the Sun Belt's best offensive weapon over the next few years. Coach who needs to have a big second half – UL Monroe's Charlie Weatherbie A 1-5 start and the potential for another disappointing season might mean a change if things don't quickly turn around for the WarHawks. Weatherbie is just 16-36 so far. Player who needs to have a big second half – Corey Leonard, QB Arkansas State The Indians are in the thick of the Sun Belt title hunt, and control their own destiny. To pull off a trip to New Orleans, Leonard has to be terrific, and consistent. One week he's off, and ASU loses to UL Monroe. The next week he's on, and he throws five touchdown passes and blows out UL Lafayette. If he's sharp, ASU will be a nasty team to beat. Best remaining conference game – Florida Atlantic at Troy, Dec. 1 Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee will have their say in the race, but the season-ender against the Owls and Trojans will impact the title in one way or another. 19. Brett... you throwing copies onto a DVD or another VHS tape? Just curious. If copied to a DVD I'll take a copy. I can send a DVD if you need one, and can reimburse if necessary. Thanks.
  20. I believe season ticket holders get those as well, as I received mine (and have after the FAU game) I believe the AD can track the person who attend by the barcode on the tickets, and refer it back to the database that has a listing of persons on file to see who owned each ticket. Then if there is an email address on file the system spits out an email (sort of like a form letter) and fires it off. Sorry for the explanation... you all probably knew this. But I'm an IT guy so cut me some slack.
  21. Any updates on teh flags, website? Just curious, about possibly picking one up.
  22. I'll second that!
  23. Did they have their own police escort to the game?
  24. Oh yeah... (lightbulb goes on) what was I thinking... newspapers love a good "in-house" battle between coaches or coaches/players (i.e. Parcells/Owens). I should have reconsidered that statement before letting my fingers do the typing. I'll go back to my morning coffee.
