Jerseyville Classic --> LINK 3rd Base Sports Bar and Grill --> LINK This just ruined my day, I was so looking forward to watching the game. -
North Texas-Arkansas State preview UNT looks to bounce back quickly after Navy loss 6:05 p.m. today, Indian Stadium (KWRD-FM 100.7, KNTU-FM 88.1); 11:19 PM CST on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 By BRETT VITO / Denton Record-Chronicle North Texas didn't have long to reflect on one of the more baffling losses in recent Mean Green history. UNT was back on the practice field the day after its defense imploded in a 74-62 loss to Navy on Saturday. Its focus quickly turned to a Sun Belt Conference showdown with Arkansas State tonight in Jonesboro, Ark. "We can't do anything about what happened in the past," UNT linebacker Maurice Holman said. "We can't go back and change it. It's already in the books. We have to get ready for Arkansas State." The Mean Green spent its short week trying to find a way to get the defense on track. UNT has given up at least 45 points in each outing during a three-game losing streak heading into its game against ASU and ranks last among the NCAA's Bowl Subdivision teams with an average of 49.6 points allowed per game. UNT's struggles defensively have prevented the Mean Green from capitalizing on an increasingly productive offense that ranks eighth nationally with an average of 317.9 passing yards a game. Freshman quarterback Giovanni Vizza threw for 478 yards and eight touchdowns against Navy and is averaging 253.3 passing yards per game. Quarterback Corey Leonard leads ASU with 201.3 passing yards per game. Line: ASU by 141/2 North Texas wins if ... The Mean Green finds a way to correct its problems defensively after allowing Navy to score touchdowns on eight straight possessions. Arkansas State wins if ... The Indians, with one of the most experienced defensive backfields in the Sun Belt, are able to hold Vizza in check. Prediction Arkansas State 42, UNT 31

Midshipmen headed to bowl game for fifth straight season SOURCE: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?i...ce=NCFHeadlines ESPN.com news services Updated: November 12, 2007, 9:46 AM ET ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy stamped its season of big moments by announcing Sunday it has accepted an invitation to play in the third annual San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. Navy (6-4) clinched a fifth straight bowl appearance with Saturday's prolific 74-62 victory over North Texas. The teams' combined 136 points was a major-college record, and the Midshipmen -- who have the nation's best rushing offense -- set a school record by running for 572 yards with eight rushing touchdowns. The previous week, coach Paul Johnson's team snapped a 43-year losing streak to Notre Dame, 46-44 in triple overtime. Navy will play a Mountain West opponent in the Poinsettia Bowl on Dec. 20 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN. "A beautiful setting in a Navy city at one of the finest football venues in the country has everyone excited," Navy athletics director Chet Gladchuk said in a statement. "Five bowl games in a row is historic for the Academy and our congratulations to Coach Johnson, his staff, our players and the Brigade of Midshipmen for reaffirming that Navy is one of the finest football programs in the nation." The Midshipmen have tied a school record by scoring at least 30 points for the eighth straight game. That stretch included previous victories of 46-43, 48-45 and 46-44, with a 59-52 loss. Against North Texas, they scored their most points in a game since beating Colby 121-0 in 1919. "I'm excited the team has achieved one of its goals, to have a chance to go to a bowl game," Johnson said in a statement. "We still have two very important games remaining against Northern Illinois and Army, so we are going to put the bowl game on the back burner until the regular season is over." Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Miami was cancelled as we bought out of the contract, and have since scheduled LSU in its place as our season opener (or annual money game). SOURCE: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...s.59be722c.html

Who's to say Miami will keep Ricky next year and not try to unload him in the off-season. I would imagine the team isn't to please with his past performance and decisions off the field, so it might be best for the team as a whole to bid Ricky adieu, and hang on the Patrick instead.

You might want to consider that, considering this was posted in the following thread: -
With one section separating the photog and the navy fans, I would have to disagree, as the Green Brigade would have been to the photog's immediate left as opposed to his right. Also the angle of the field would indicate the same since the Green Brigade sits to the south side of the 50, and the photog was to the north of the 50. But that's all I could glean from teh video. BTW, I was in the alum section and prior to the game starting (even the flyover) I noticed the student section was sparse, but eventually filled in after we scored the first two TDs in under 8 minutes. However once the score was 21-3, I think they figured something big was giong on inside Fout's that they should probably watch. GMG!

Perhaps it's because we had other things on our minds... the time until our next class from the dorms (Clark) to the language or science buildings over by Fry St. that was a freaking 15 minute hike done at high walking speeds, none of this lazy pace walking where we can look around at the beautiful scenary.

According to this post: regarding the Houston area game watching party the game will be on ESPN+/GamePlan. I thought ESPN+ was channel 52 locally in the DFW area. But I can not find the game listed. -
I do have some, I'll see what I can do with that regard.

Where's Varsity's the "new" square by the soccer fields? If I can swing it I'll be there for the festivities. -
Just wanted to say that your hard work is not going unnoticed. The recent pregame festivities, everything from the announcer (cheer squad member) on the field getting fans chanting, tailgating, to the post-game fireworks make Saturday's realyl something to look forward to at North Texas. I like others have noticed and greatly apprecaite all you do and continue to do for the team, alum, students and other fans to make game day what it is. Saurday's pregame festivities were phenominal, and the entire atmosphere Saturday was amazing. I really do hope to see more of this type of thing in years to follow. Hopefully other games with Navy, and other universities (other then conference schools) can make the trip out to Denton for their first Mean Green experience. And just for you, and all your hard work... here's a photo (Heissman pose). GMG!

Thanks for the video, was interesting seeing it from a different angle (read: side of the field).

The photo or the speech? That invocation was REALLY good!
-
Opening invocation... Coin Toss with team captains and special guests... Our very own Rick Villarreal doing his Heisman impression... (put 'em in coach)! More to follow...

We must have snapped our photos off at the same time, cause that looks like mine (only better quality).
