SOURCE: http://cfn.scout.com/2/705819.html 8. Baylor Prestige Factor: None. A coach can make a big name for himself with the slightest bit of success. Ideal Candidate Would Have … in-roads in Texas. Baylor is a different type of Big 12 school because of its private status. The coach has to come up with a big-time offensive idea, like Guy Morriss tried to do with the Texas Tech passing attack, only with more success. They Should Think About … North Texas head coach Todd Dodge The Skinny: As far as the tough job openings go, this is far more difficult than Duke because the rest of the South is so nasty. Oklahoma and Texas will be in the national title discussion every year, Oklahoma State/T. Boone U. is improving, and Texas Tech and Texas A&M will always be bowl bound. Forget about the defense. Some alumni might like the idea of Mike Singletary, but the Bears need an effective offense that can outbomb teams on the right day. Trying to get in defensive struggles against Oklahoma and Texas won’t work. Houston’s Art Briles will likely get the gig.

Western Kentucky (7-4) at North Texas (1-9) 3:05 p.m. today, Fouts Field (KWRD-FM 100.7, KNTU-FM 88.1) 10:57 PM CST on Friday, November 23, 2007 UNT seeks solid finish at home North Texas will look to finish a disappointing home season with a flourish today when it takes on Western Kentucky. UNT will honor 17 seniors before the game, including the last of the players who participated in the fourth of the Mean Green's four straight New Orleans Bowls from 2001-04. UNT's only win this season came against Louisiana-Monroe at Fouts. "It's real important to go out on top at home," senior wide receiver Brandon Jackson said. "This is our last time to play at home in front of our fans." Sending the seniors out with a win could be a challenge. WKU has been impressive in the first of its two transition seasons that will take it from the NCAA's Championship Subdivision to the Bowl Subdivision as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. WKU beat Sun Belt member Middle Tennessee earlier this year and also kept the score close with league leader Troy before falling, 21-17. UNT quarterback Giovanni Vizza is averaging 241.6 passing yards a game, and wide receiver Casey Fitzgerald leads the team with 118.4 receiving yards per game. North Texas wins if ... UNT taps into the emotion surrounding the final home game of the season and continues to improve defensively . Western Kentucky wins if ... The Hilltoppers keep their offense rolling and outscore a UNT offense that has been consistently productive. Prediction UNT 35, WKU 32 Brett Vito

Forgot "Mean" Joe Green accepts position as new DC, and Mendoza accepts another position with the team.

I have 2 tickets available as well, as I can not attend due to a previous engagement. However, I may be able to make it to the pre-game festivities.
-
Agreed it is important, but not near as important as Troy's final game of the season on 12/1 against FAU, since the winner goes bowling. Of course that is assuming the Troy wins tonights game.

That thing looks like one giant erector set! Did I just date myself? Damn it! God help fans going to that area in Aug/Sep (and Oct -- but not for a while) should the Rangers and Cowboys schedule games on the same day. Looks liek a traffic nightmare. Better in Arlington than in Frisco.

Dude, you're trying to tell me what IS and IS NOT on my site, I think I'm the better source of information in that regard than you are. I was only trying to help YOU understand that the information was available, and to explain how to gain access to it for future reference. Condescending? Hardly! Helpful, yes!

At the time of my post in this thread, I had listed a lot of the information previously shown. Please read the dsclaimer I had put on the Tulsa information (I have included it below). This clearly shows that, I knew this was not mentioned be me, but by someone else within the same thread. As for my website having this information, pleae revisit the site... go to the left side of the page and scroll down to the 2007 schedule. Above this is a selection box, where you can choose any schedule from 2001 - 2010. If you would choose 2008, 2009, or 2010, you'll see the information is available. Just click on the expand/collapse ('+', plus sign) and you can see the schedules. I think one needs to re-read before posting. Hope this helps.

GreenBat -- I couldn't agree more, I think RV is trying to get more opponents of better caliber, who are also closer to home (so to speak) so that we can get more games in which fans can attend and follow the team as they travel for games. Keeping Tulsa on the schedule satisfies both opportunities.

TYPO in subject... should read MT not NT SOURCE: http://middletennessee.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=740009 MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Director of Athletics Chris Massaro and Mississippi State Athletic Director Larry Templeton announced today a home-and-home series in football between the two schools. Mississippi State will become the first SEC team to ever play in Floyd Stadium and it will mark the third straight year a team from one of the six power conferences has made the trek to Murfreesboro. "This marks a signature moment in our football history by having an SEC opponent play at Floyd Stadium," said Massaro. "We are very excited about the two-game series. "This is an attractive match-up because of the proximity of the two schools. Our fans can easily get to Starkville and Mississippi State fans will have no problem making the trip to Murfreesboro. The series will begin in 2008 with the Blue Raiders traveling to Starkville on October 25 before the Bulldogs return the favor by coming to Murfreesboro in 2009 on October 17. The two schools have played twice in football with meetings in 1999 and 2000. The 1999 contest in Starkville was the Blue Raiders' first-ever I-A football game as the Bulldogs won 40-7. In 2000, the 20th-ranked Bulldogs won an offensive shootout, 61-35, as both teams combined for more than 1,000 yards of total offense. After entertaining Virginia of the ACC earlier this season, the Blue Raiders will host Maryland in 2008, Memphis and Mississippi State in 2009 and Georgia Tech in 2011.

Smitty, If anything your posts in thi thread remind me of hte game... six degrees of sepration (from Kevin Bacon). That was CRAZY!!! But nice work, none-the-less.

I thought I read somewhere in a previous thread that Navy was the response game or make-up game for us having played Akron. I could be mistaken, but I could have sworn I read this recently somewhere. Of course I could also have dreamed it up.

I believe I posted this same info (for the 2008 schedule) a few days back in a previous thread, with dates even. 2008 schedule: 8/30 @ Louisiana State --> SOURCE: LINK 9/27 @ Kansas State --> SOURCE: LINK 10/25 vs Troy --> SOURCE: LINK 11/1 @ Middle Tennessee unknown @ Rice unknown @ Western Kentucky -- SOURCE: LINK unknown vs Tulsa (* included in a post by another member within the same thread) I hope this helps add to the information (regarding specific dates) provided in the DMN article. Also, other information regarding the 2009 & 2010 schedule can be found here, on my very own website. I have found this information on various sites while scouring the web recently, and I do try to keep this up to date and retain the source URL for reference. 2009 schedule: [not including the games you posted -- though I will be updating the site now ] 9/12 vs Air Force 10/24 @ Troy unknown @ Ball State unknown @ Alabama 2010 schedule: 9/4 @ Clemson 9/25 vs Kansas State unknown vs Rice Enjoy! GMG! [ I editted this post as I have updated my website to reflect the recent findings of future schedule (2008-2010) ]

How about instead of doing ""NORTH" "TEXAS" we chant... "TODD" "DODGE", I'm sure he could use it after this loss.

So is that "blowup" icon-thingy for the tanker explosion on I35, the fact VArsity Club wasn't showing the game, or because we blew a lead in a winable game? Decisions, decisions... [editted for typos...] -

Yes, we had a discussion with a manager at Varsity's in Frisco, and she had informed us that they called DirecTV multiple times thorugh out the day to verify that they can get the channel, and even called while we were there. Basically, after waiting she came back and said that they can not get either channel unless they paid for the service (which she said they had already). Seemed sketchy to us there, but no worries they lost some sales tonight as there were at least 4 of us there, and more on the way when we started phoning others to let them know of the mishap. 3rd Base in Frisco, also hadn't paid for this service either, so they were a no go. In both locations, when they tuned into these channels, they were greeted with a screen stating that they needed to call for channel activation (or something of that nature). -

Oh, BTW... When I asked the folks at 3rd Base in Frisco if they could put the game on their TVs, they said sure, and proceeded to flip it to FSSW. Obviously this was the wrong channel, but it turns out this channel was showing a Sam Houston State @ Texas State football game was coming on at 7pm, and the manager proceeded to tell me that this was the channel I asked for and showed me the TV listing in the paper. I laughed and said, "Um, I asked for the NORTH Texas football game that was on @ 6pm... channels 625/626". I couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking, as I was wearing a North Texas jersey and hat. Just thought I'd share this experience, for your entertainment. -

Ok, well they were misinformed. For those that were there, it was certainly nice to see you all. Maybe next time we try this it'll work out. -
Hopefully you all had better luck than we had in Frisco/Little Elm/Colony.

Turns out, they lied... Varsity's Club in Frisco does not get 625/626 on DirecTV. 3rd Base in Frisco also does not get these channels. So after missing the 1st Qtr and 1/2 of the 2nd, I'm home listening on-line. -
