The Mesquite, Texas, native told the Sun he will ask to leave in hopes of earning more playing time at another school, and that he would like to be closer to his family. Williams also said the addition of new running backs coach Kenny Carter has had a negative effect on his career. Rated the nation’s No. 12 back out of high school in 2006, Williams played in eight games as a freshman, the highlight being a 95-yard performance against Western Carolina.
