In my opinion, this is a great use of the transfer portal. Thank you, Seth. This is the kind of move many of us on this board have been asking for. We still have slots available in this class. I hope we see more additions of this caliber in the near future. These are the types of moves that will get the fan base excited and eager to buy season tickets. Again, Thank you Littrell!

From what I was told North Texas has been working on him for a while. Before Bennett came on board. Summarizing what I was told.... He liked Baylor a lot too, but North Texas seemed to have more to offer him. The "more to offer" could mean the opportunity to earn playing time as a true freshman. But, I am just guessing.

I have several students that played with with Vincent Paige in middle school and/or against him in high school (he does attend Nolan Catholic). Every one of my students had really good things to say about him. None of them had a negative comment about this recruit. That tells me he is the kind of young man and explosive athlete Littrell's staff needs to be targeting. In my opinion this is a great pick up. Remember, in most cases parents choose to move. The kids don't really have a say in it. Yes, he has moved some, but he probably didn't get a choice in the matter. Go Mean Green!!! And, welcome to the Mean Green Family Vincent Paige!

My 2021 player hope is that Shorter will have something close to Darden's 2020 campaign. I really thought he was due for a breakout year in 2020, before his season was cut short.

Has anyone heard about the $$$ in Bennett's contract? Will he be making the $350,000 Bowen was getting, or will UNT be upping the DC salary for this hire?

C-USA is currently the worst FBS conference, so he should be able to field a respectable defense next season. If Bennett can build us a defense that allows less than 24 points a game in conference play, we should be a contender for the western division. I don't think a 24 PPG defense is too much to ask. If C-USA was a better conference, 28 PPG would be acceptable to me.

Could be because he was buried behind Torrey and Adaway on the depth chart. But, I don't expect him to see more carries at SMU either.

Gush was Baylor's defensive recruiting coordinator under Bennett too.

First, Siggers is now a traitor and I don't wish him any luck on the field at SMU. He was down to our third string, so hopefully he doesn't amount to much for the Mustangs. BUT... I do hope the young man earns his degree and has a successful life after football. Second... If Littrell didn't have our program in a dumpster fire after five years in charge, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Lets just hope Bennett can find some quality defensive players and build this thing well enough to begin turning it around next season.

I hope you are right. I think Ruff will fail if he is the hire. Looking to the Texas Tech coaching tree for offensive coaches is great, but not for defensive coaches. I will be extremely disappointed if Ruff is hired. In two seasons as Texas Tech's DC Ruff gave up an average of 25.15 points per game. He is not the right guy for us.

Please tell me it isn't Ruffin Mcneill. Being a DC at Texas Tech shouldn't count on a resume. Leave Ruff at NC State. Now, Mike Stoops would be a good hire if he wants out of his Bama situation. Mark Snyder still needs a job too. I'd be good with him. Am I in the ballpark?

Everyone on this board knows you always have solid information from the inside. But, we could use some hints as to who was interviewing today.... Previous DC experience. Texas ties. Head coaching experience....

Not trying to compare RB's, but the quality of the O-line has a lot to do with how successful the RB's are. Wilson ran behind a better line coached by Brad Davis, who left to take the same position at Florida after Wilson final year in Denton. Overall, I think Cobb's RB's have not had as high a caliber line to run behind. The O-line wasn't bad last season, but under Langston the unit was not very good. I think Cobbs is a solid RB coach, and one of the better coaches on our staff. I do not want to lose him.

Right now, no news is bad news. ULM is making somewhat splashy hires with Bowden and Rodreguez. LA Tech just landed three SEC defensive back transfers. https://twitter.com/brettvito/status/1349460615023251465 And, SMU has added an OU TE to go with their OU QB. https://twitter.com/brettvito/status/1349454986497961992 Like I stated before... while recruiting is improving we are continuing to struggle against the better G5 programs. These kinds of moves will show up on the field next season. Littrell needed a home run DC hire. Now, as other programs continue to put the pieces in place for improvement, Littrell really needs a grand slam at the DC position. We need someone soon that can persuade a few high caliber immediate impact players to transfer or sign with UNT. If thing don't start falling into place soon, we will be facing another losing season before we ever even get to fall camp.
