From this point on every loss is on WB
Side.Show.Joe replied to p_phelps's topic in Mean Green Football
There is no real formula for figuring out how much it is costing UNT to keep Littrell. It is all a matter of perspective. If we lose out on realignment because we can't stabilize our football program and fund Littrell's firing, than that is bigger than a set amount of money. That will be a generational failure by our university and a stain on Wren Baker's career. That is much most costly than the $3 million or so buyout some keep pointing at. -

If the work is just now starting, than Wren has already lost. If he is worth his title, Wren has his plan ready to go now. If he does not, than he is not the AD we need, and more people than just coaches need to be fired in the athletic department. -
No one wants Bennett to be our next coach. It is simple an Interim job. He will understand, or a different assistant will take the job. It doesn't really matter who take the spot right now, as long as Littrell is no longer in charge.
-
I noticed the bench looked much smaller in the second half, but didn't realize some players just didn't return to the field. I'll go back and watch my recording. For those that think their is still something to salvage, this is just more evidence that it is time to remove Littrell.
-
Name Bennett interim coach and begin the national search for our next HC. We need to interview some big names too. We have to get some positive media attention from this search, and draw attention away from Littrell's failure. Even if we hire an FCS guy with major skins on the wall, we have to bring in some major names for interviews.

Wren has had two season to get his ducks in order. If he isn't prepared than that is on him. He needs to step up and do his job. We are out of time and he knows it. -

Keeping him would be worse. Littrell is an embarrassment and he cannot be allowed to continue. If we fire him now, we can sell our next coaching hire while Smat works his connections in the MWC. There is no other option. We either do what needs to be done and fire Littrell, or watch another decade of UNT football go down the toilet. It is in Wren's hands, and time is not his friend. -

You do realize the MWC is looking for expansion targets.... We can't afford to let this situation continue to fester. Wren needs to fire Littrell now. Not a month from now, or after the season officially ends. It is over. -

For those choosing to judge Wren after the season is over.... The season is over. Someone please show me an actual win left on our schedule. Maybe FIU, but probably not even that game. The season is over. It is time to fire Littrell and our program to move forward. Wren needs to do his job. -

Everything is already negative, both on and off the field. There is nothing left to salvage from Littrell's program. If this does drag out into November, than Wren will continue to lose more support from the fan base. This has to end now. -
Wren made this mess. It is his job to fix it. He better find the money or we need a different leader.

I love UNT football, but I cannot and will not be at the Liberty game if Littrell is allowed to step out on our sideline as the head coach. If Littrell is still our coach next Saturday, I'll be watching from home. This must end now. Who is still planning to attend? Who expects a coaching change before they will show up again? Who needs to be fired at this point?

And Benford's last season was a huge scandal too. Benford never should have coached that season. Basketball is great, but this is Texas. Football is everything. I judge Wren on his failure to deal with this situation. Littrell needs to go. He cannot be allowed to step onto the sideline for even one more game. Wren needs to do his job. Leaders are supposed to lead. If Wren won't do his job, than he needs to go too.- 56 replies

Your anger is misguided. The players are not beyond being criticized. But, the blame for this mess rest solidly on our leadership for letting it devolve into a total meltdown. Players come and go over a 4 or 5 year period. Leadership at the athletic department and university will come and go over a decade or so. But, true fans will remain for many decades (50+ years). And, telling them to stay home because feeling are getting hurt, won't fix our problems. The whole football program quit last night. Now it is time to fire people.

The time is right now. Last night actually. SETH HAS TO GO NOW! No more excuses. WREN NEEDS TO DO HIS JOB OR QUIT! Someone needs to step up and be a leader. -
It was aimed at the coaching, but now that ship has sailed. The anger is now focused on the leadership for letting it get to this point. People at the athletic department need to answer for this crap. Seth has to go. That isn't even open for debate. Now we need to see which people at the athletic department needs to leave also.

I say there are a lot of losses over the past few season that could have been avoided had Wren dealt with this situation. Wren has a lot to answer for. It is time to fire people. At this point, there can be no other outcome. -
It is 8 am on Saturday morning and I have yet to hear of Littrell being fired. Wren Baker, wake up and do your job!!!
-
That is appalling. In no world should that happen to our players, regardless of our situation. I hope they got it on camera and the police catch whoever is responsible. This horrible situation is just growing worse by the day.
-
And they will always have their names on those facilities. I hope they get on board too, because the writing is on the wall, and nothing will change the outcome. Littrell is over at UNT.
-
Yes, and we survived that too. No donor(s) or fan is bigger than the program. Everyone has to place the program ahead of their personal goals and desires. It won't work any other way.
-
I won't shut up. People need to do their jobs and start firing. I'll be here until things change. Anyone that gets tired of it is free to give me down votes. It's all good.
-
The program is worth more than their money. If we lose the program, their money won;t matter anyway. It is time to fire people, regardless of who gets their feeling hurt.
-
That is encouraging, but we need action tomorrow. We have to have a new direction to sell to the MWC. We have to be seen as dealing with this mess. The longer Littrell is allowed to stay, the worse it looks for UNT and our prospects in realignment.
