  1. 5-7 in year 6 is garbage too.
  2. I totally disagree. Marshall fired Doc Holliday shortly after he finished leading his team to a 7-4 record and earning the C-USA Coach of the Year honor. So, firing Seth is not untenable. We simply have to raise our expectations at UNT and demand more from our athletic department. https://www.al.com/sports/2021/01/doc-holliday-conference-usa-coach-of-the-year-out-at-marshall.html
  3. FACT.... UNT has beaten nothing but bums this season. UTEP is the only team we have beaten that will finish with a winning record, and that is because they beat a bunch of bums too (UTEP has yet to beat a team with a winning record this season). Littrell has to go at the end of this season. If he doesn't, this place will be like 2016 all over again. No one wants to see our fan base fractured next season or banners flying. Wren needs to get rid of Seth and hire the right coach to lead us into the American. It's silly to even suggest that wins over Northwestern State (FCS), Rice (3-8), Southern Miss (2-9), UTEP (7-4), & FIU (1-10), merits Littrell deserving a 7th year at UNT. To keep Littrell for a 7th year would be very Old Denton.
  4. This is a very strong performance by the team. I just wish we could play like this against good competition.
  5. There is nothing Littrell can do that would merit him keeping his job. Even if he wins out, he is not the coach to lead us into the American. Littrell hasn't been able to keep UNT competitive in a weak C-USA over the last few season. Why would anyone think he will make us competitive once we move to a stronger American Conference? Not happening. Littrell needs to go at soon as the season ends. We need to get our next coach in place so we can build for our future in the American.
  6. UTEP 24 UNT 10 UTEP is better than Rice & Southern Miss. Plus, I think we get out coached in the 4th quarter. 8 to 10K in attendance, but we count it as 15K. Not really cold enough, but I'll be getting some hot chocolate today. 😁
  7. Ha! You know I got to get my kettle corn at every game.
  8. I will laugh so hard if that happens. SMU has beaten TCU twice in the past three years. Remember, TCU ducked them in 2020 because of COVID. I guess if you can't beat them, hire their coach away. Ha!
  9. I agree. And since Seth hasn't beaten a team that finished their season with a winning record since USM in November of 2018 (3 years ago), you are probably more likely to win the lottery.
  10. The half that isn't showing up right now, bought their season tickets at the beginning of the year, so the athletic department already has their money and can count them as paid attendance. If Littrell were to return (which he won't), those fans wouldn't be spending their money on season tickets for next season, and things get worse for the athletic department. Smat and Wren were smart enough to secure UNT a place in the American, even while Littrell was making it hard. I'm sure they understand he isn't the coach to lead us into our new conference.
  11. They could wear the old Under Armor jerseys with piping for all I care, as long as they win.
  12. I agree that we have talent at a lot of positions. But I think we have a few other spots that need more talent. The QB position is certainly our weakest link, and Littrell should have to answer for it. He has brought in QBs in every class. When he was hired he actually made a point of addressing the QB position. The fact that he hasn't developed a QB since Mason Fine is an indictment against his leadership as our head coach. But, I also think we're still weak on our o-line. Yes, we have about 3 solid starters that will probably be all-conference before they graduate, but there are probably two spots that need to be upgraded. And the depth is still an issue. I think we need more depth in our defensive front too. Games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage. Those positions should always remain a priority.
  13. In my opinion, Cobbs is the best RB coach in college football. Regardless of injuries or circumstances our RB corp continues to produce. The next man up philosophy works under Cobbs. He always has his guys ready on game day. However our coaching situation changes, I hope Cobbs remains at UNT. I would hate to see him on another team's sideline. Don't know want he earns, but the man deserves a raise. Thank you Patrick. You are a great coach and alum. Go Mean Green!
  14. Happy the team got the win today, but I'm still nervous about next Saturday.
  15. It's winnable. But only if we stop making mental mistakes like roughing the passer and false starts. USM is making halftime adjustments. I'm looking forward to seeing how we adjust.
  16. I hope Traylor turns out to be their Littrell... wins with the players that he inherits, but can't bring in guys (coaches/players) to keep winning. No way UTSA will ever be able to buyout Traylor's $28 million contract if he tanks.
  17. This is just hard to watch. Still too many mental mistakes and penalties. I'm so ready for a new coach. Here are the first half highlights.....
  18. I hope we ruin their undefeated season. I wish them all bad things.... Those birds and their season make me wish our leadership didn't saddled with Littrell for so long. The coaching change can't get here fast enough.
  19. Southern Miss is absolutely horrible. Our front 7 should have field day. Regardless of the final score today... Littrell needs to go at the end of the season. UNT 38 Southern Miss 17
  20. Every team deals with injuries. Even in a worst case situation, the University of North Texas has an annual operating budget of nearly $1billion. The university can cough up $3 million. Smat hired Littrell. He needs to make sure we can get rid of him. C-USA isn't a big time conference. 20 bucks and a pack of smokes would probably cover the exit fees. Wren and Smat have talked a lot about stepping up to meet the challenges of competing in the American. If they really mean that, Littrell will be let go. Actions speak louder than words.
  21. Wow, that was hard to watch. Happy we got the win, but it sure wasn't pretty. Still too many dumb penalties. Our coaching still hasn't corrected the issue. If we played a better team on the road today, it would have probably been a loss. But it give me some hope against Southern Miss and FIU on the road. We might end up with a 4 win season. But, 4 wins is not good enough to keep Littrell for a 7th season. He needs to be fire at the end of this season. On a related note... What is the UNT record for most penalties and penalty yards in a season? And, have we broken it yet?
  22. So we're supposed to only count half of our football season???? What kind of crap is that? That is a loser's philosophy. This is the man's 6th year as head coach. When do the training wheels come off? The fans won't tolerate keeping Littrell for another season. We have too much to lose. Littrell is gone after this season ends, or most fans will be. There is no middle ground on this issue, and Wren knows it.
  23. After the way we threw away the win last night, I decided to not post anything on here until while I was still angry. These are my 5 thoughts from the game.... 1. Our players were good enough to win that game. We went toe to toe with Liberty for most of the night and played mostly smart football, with not too many mental mistakes. Even with injuries mounting in the secondary all night, we were playing competitive ball. 2. Liberty is better than Marshall... which tells you just how unacceptable the coaching and effort was last Friday night. 3. When we had creative/unpredictable play calling, UNT was moving the ball and scoring. When we got stale and just handed the ball off, the offense went nowhere. 4. The three man defensive front still doesn't work. Our defense did a much better job of shutting down Liberty when we ran a four man front. 5. Coaching lost us the game last night. Littrell isn't good enough to win in a collapsing C-USA. Littrell has no business leading our program into the American. Littrell needs to be fired sometime between right this minute and the end of the season. We have to start building for the American.
  24. I watched the event on Youtube, and nothing about the event made me think Littrell will be back next season. If Seth was in with Smat and Wren, they'd have given him a chair and let him field questions about how he planned to transition the program into the American. None of that happened. Smat and Baker know they have to get our new coach in at the end of this season, so the guy can begin getting his players and system in place. The new coach will then have the 2022 season in C-USA to try and improve the product before we start in the American in 2023. If by some chance Littrell does return for 2022, then we are in for another frustrating year of anger, losing, and low attendance.
  25. I live too far way... and Wren probably wouldn't want to see me anyway. But, I hope all of you have a great night at the event. But, I'll be at the game tomorrow wearing a nice new Mean Green AAC t-shirt!
