  1. A rebuild isn't as bad as staying on our current course. We will be in the American soon, and need to right the ship now. We need a new captain. Time to fire Seth.
  2. The competition really wasn't that much better. Miami OH only beat one team with a winning record this season. And worst of all.... Tonight's win over UNT broke their 30 game losing streak to OOC FBS opponents. Yes, Miami OH had not won an OOC game against an FBS team since 2011. Seth needs to go.
  3. There are better coaches out there. UNT pays near the top of the G5. We have great facilities. We are located in the 5th largest media market. And, we are moving to the American. Tons of coaches will want this job. The Miami OH coach is better than Seth and he only makes about $500k a year (not that I want him).
  4. I'm doubling down on this post. Seth is what he is. Time to fire him.
  5. UTSA had 15,801 for their Frisco Bowl. We had 11,721. I don't believe the percentage of opinions posted on this message board are an accurate reflection of where our fan base is. My theory is that the majority of our fan base is done with Seth, and has been for some time (even our regular season attendance at Apogee was lacking). I believe there are far more fans that want Seth gone than want him back. They just don't post it on this board. And, the majority of those fans just simply stayed home. Even among the fans in attendance, there was little energy. Nothing like our two HOD Bowl games.
  6. True. With +300K alumni in the region, we couldn't sell out a 20k stadium in our backyard. That is a direct reflection of how apathy is growing within our fan base, and it's a result of Littrell's failures as our head coach. UNT is one of the fastest growing universities in the nation. Our football support among of fans should be growing too, but because Littrell loses, support is shrinking.
  7. There are better options... Heck! the Miami OH coach is better, and that guy only makes $542,000 a season.
  8. Just one thought after what I saw tonight.... 1. WE NEED A NEW COACH NOW, NOT AFTER NEXT SEASON.
  9. This bowl was as big of a cupcake as could have been handed to Littrell. A 6-6 MAC team in our own backyard. At least 90% of the crowd was UNT. Littrell is not the coach for UNT. He is not our future. We need a new coach now, not after we endure another under performing season in 2022. Our players were not out-matched in this bowl. Our coach was out-matched.
  10. Two things... What teams would have been left out had this bowl not materialized? And, where would UNT have gone?
  11. This bowl is set up for UNT to roll Miami OH tomorrow. I can't wait. My prediction... UNT 42 Miami OH 17 And, I'll predict that the Murphy twins are named co-MVP's.
  12. Be careful. Old Denton doesn't like it when fans question the expectations around here.
  13. Be careful telling the truth around here. Old Denton isn't interested in facts. They are content with the status quo.
  14. 6-6 and .500 after 6 seasons is not my standard for "very well". We should blow out Miami OH. They are also a 6-6 teams with only one win over a winning team... and our Frisco Bowl is basically a home game for us. And a 7-8 win team in C-USA next season, still wouldn't be good enough to finish better than middle of the pack in the American. The winning streak just fooled some people around here into believing things have changed. The data proves Littrell hasn't been a successful coach in C-USA, which means there is almost no chance Seth can be a winner in the American. So there is no good reason to keep him.
  15. I support this team and program, but not this coach. He's had his chance, and hasn't done enough. Read my last post and you will better understand my opinions on why we need to make the change. By the way, the same "we need to win X number of games for Littrell to keep his job" arguments were made last season, but now those same fans are backing down. Just saying.
  16. What you have presented is not a good analogy to our situation. Littrell is not a cog in the machine, like your employees. The head coach is the motor that drives them. When he fails it all fails. When he succeeds it all works... like McCasland. Old Denton is too concerned about next season. The right coach will get more out of our team's talent. Wren did a great job of finding McCasland. Now it's time for Wren to finally hire his football coach. I look at the "big picture" because that's how you build a winning program, not just try to hold together a team for next season. The right coach will get the players to stay or find even better players. Remember when Woolridge left for Gonzaga... McCasland brought in Hamlet. Great coaches find great players and develop them to win. We have to build for joining the American. I don't want UNT football to be a bottom feeder in the AAC. The American is a much tougher conference than C-USA, even with Houston, Cincy, and UCF gone. I think overall Littrell will be a less than .500 coach if he remains at UNT. Sure he may produce a 6 or 7 win season next year in our weak C-USA, but that won't translate to success in the American. An American schedule is much tougher than a C-USA schedule, and our OOC schedules are tougher now too. He isn't the coach you think he's going to be. Do you actually believe Littrell can win the American conference title when we join? If your answer is "No", than it's time to hire a new head coach. Waiting another year equals wasting another year... maybe even more than just one year.
  17. It's true. Every coach I named has flaws... but even so, they have all done more then Littrell and would be better then continuing to fail under Littrell. Funny, you want me to do more research on candidates, but fail to realize what the research says about Littrell. And, your twisting my opinion. I'm in favor of hiring a better coach, not just any coach. That would be stupid. But I guess it 's easier to misrepresent my position than to use facts and argue in favor of Seth's accomplishments.
  18. There are no "my truth" or "your truth". There are just the facts. The facts are the truth. And the facts say Littrell is a .500 coach in C-USA. That shouldn't be acceptable to any UNT fan. How many more "one more season" arguments will we have to endure? We heard the same thing after last season's poor performance.
  19. No. most of our fan base stays tailgating because Seth isn't good enough to draw them into Apogee. Most of the locals and alumni that would support us just stay home.
  20. Texas is run by big money donors that don't know football. That's why they continue to hire the wrong guy. There are plenty of coaches that would be better than Littrell. Patterson would even have to move from Fort Worth. Doc Holiday was winning at Marshall with fewer resources. Skip Holts owned Littrell and won several bowls at LA Tech. Kindle Briles still hasn't been hire as a head coach. I'll post more later.
  21. A faction of the fan base will revolt. That's just the truth. Also, I don't care about down votes. You should know that by now. I've been on this board for a decade, and I'll still be here long after Littrell is gone. Wren too for that matter.
  22. I've been around this program for a long time. And in the past 20 years UNT football has improved in every area... except on the field and in our expectations. Dicky won conference titles and took us to 4 straight bowls and beat Cincinnati. Old Denton won't even hold Littrell to that standard. Since Dicky was fired, UNT ahs built Apogee and the IPF. Moved to C-USA and is now moving up to the American. Off the field, no other former Sun Belt conference-mate has come close to what UNT has done. We are winning the arms race.... but Littrell still isn't contending for conference titles. Seth Littrell is the weak link on our program. Those are just the facts. I can't help it if you don't like the truth. Texas made a bad hire, and they are dumb for sticking with him too.
