I have never seen any proof he has done anything wrong. If you have a link to some kind of investigation, I'd love to read it. Until I see something solid, I believe he is the best possible option to be our next head coach.
-
7 years of sustained success is enough for me. Plus he was on Peterson's staff for years. And Harsin was able to recruit the players and call the plays that allowed that program to thrive for 7 years. Let's face it, Boise hasn't been the same since he left. Remember Harsin was the OC behind the greatest bowl upset in history....
-
Very happy for Mr. Mosley, and I believe his service to date merits this choice. I trust his leadership as we move to hire our new coach, transition to the AAC, and continue our new master plan. I believe we are at a moment in UNT athletics history, that Mean Green fans will look back on as our turning point when the sleeping giant finally woke up. Go Mean Green!!!

The recruiting claims don't bother me much. We won't be recruiting against Bama. Just write it into his contract that he has to visit and develop relationships with the DFW schools and those of other major football programs around Texas. Harsin has proven he is one of the best to ever coach at our level.

If he is available to UNT, he seems like a perfect fit. His success at Boise State is unmatched at the G5 level (69-19.... & in 7 seasons at Boise he posted 5 seasons with 10 wins or more). The guy spent time on the staff at Texas, so he has recruiting ties around our state. And, he has been a head coach at other FBS programs in the south. At 46-year-old, he could build UNT into the next premier program in the AAC. I'll take Harsin over the other options, if he is a possibility.

Breaking News Seth Littrell has been fired.
Side.Show.Joe replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
You know, if players like the Murphy twins would have honored their commitments and continued playing for Littrell, he might have won more games and kept his job. Just saying.- 311 replies

Breaking News Seth Littrell has been fired.
Side.Show.Joe replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
And Littrell's players are also wondering how they will fit into the new coach's system. Truth is some of them won't. -
Breaking News Jared Mosley Named Interim AD

Great news, but I thought Mosley taking over as the interim AD was a given. -
Jyaire Shorter in portal? (Unconfirmed)
Side.Show.Joe replied to ntmeangreen11's topic in Mean Green Football
Shorter would be smart to wait a see who the new coach is before cutting ties with North Texas. UNT athletics is in growth mode and the next hire should certainly create a better situation for Shorter to thrive. -

Patrick Cobbs is the best coach on the UNT staff. Let's hope the next head coach will be smart enough to keep him.- 311 replies

Breaking News Seth Littrell has been fired.
Side.Show.Joe replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
A new coach was the only thing I wanted for Christmas this year. Looks like Christmas came early!!!!!!! I wish Littrell and his family good fortunes at his next stop, and hope he grows from his experience as our coach. He did some good things here in Denton, but in the end the overall record and the struggle against winning programs was too much. UNT had to make this change to be taken seriously as we transition to the AAC and hope to compete for titles in that conference against the likes of SMU and UTSA. I'll be increasing my Mean Green Fund contributions for next year. I hope others will too. Go Mean Green!!!!!!!!!!!!!- 311 replies

No post-game interview after the title game loss.... No comments for Vito's articles.... And no comment on our bowl announcement....
-
I have a wedding in Houston on the 17th, so I won't be able to make it. But I hate the Frisco Bowl, and wouldn't want to see a repeat of Littrell coaching our team there again. I truly hope our leadership places an interim coach in place tomorrow morning. The players deserve a real shot to win against Boise State.
-
This is the worst. We got Boise, who isn't what they used to be, but still good. The Frisco Bowl can go pound sand. Apogee has a much better game atmosphere, and that is a credit to our leadership as much as a slap in the face to the Frisco Bowl. I'll be watching this game in 90"s from my nice warm recliner.

Why can’t Jarod Mosley be our AD?
Side.Show.Joe replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Football
That is a very fair statement, and probably true at most programs. -

I think you took my statement out of context. First, my comment about Mosley being a great guy, was included as an additional positive, not the reason why I think he is a good fit. And the comment wasn't made in reference to the good ol' boy model. Mosley seems to be a very approachable person. Based on my interactions with him, I think he seems like the kind of guy that would consider any good idea regardless of whether it originated from the country club set or an average fan. I don't think we have a disagreement, just a misunderstanding. -
Why can’t Jarod Mosley be our AD?
Side.Show.Joe replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Football
UNT is a public university, so they have to post the job and take applications. Personally, I support Jared Mosley being our next AD. I think he understands the AAC transition plan Wren carved out for us, and the dynamics of our new master plan. We need to start turning dirt on the athletic center expansion and I think he is probably the best individual to continue all of these projects. Plus, Mosley is just a really great guy. -
I think you're missing the point. C-USA was extremely weak this season. Only 3 other C-USA teams finished their regular seasons with winning records, and we only beat one of them. At the start of this season, I explained that Seth should be judged on his performance against the winning teams on our schedule, and I still believe that should be true. Sure, some of the programs I expected to be good, were not, but aside from the WKU game, we struggled to compete against any team with a pulse. This season was just more of the same from Littrell. It just looked better on the surface because most of C-USA was so bad. I understand you want to look on the bright side, but just isn't one. And, there can't be a bright side until we have a new football coach.
-
To me, it seems like Wren and Seth were a bit distant from each other this season. Again, just my opinion. I have no facts or inside information to support this thought. Just the way it felt to me.
-
This is standard procedure following an embarrassing loss. Look up the videos posted on Youtube. Littrell rarely does a post-game interview after getting out coached.
-
Do you know how much crap I caught for pointing that out last season. People around here acted like I farted in church. I've wanted Seth gone for a few years now. I figured him out a while back. You can go back and look up my old posts.
-
Where do we go from here? We go to a 3rd rate bowl game. Hopefully, we get paired with one of the 5-7 exemption teams. Sometimes Littrell beats teams with losing records.

No it isn't all Aune's fault. But his pick near the end of the 1st half led to the TD that cost us the lead, and we never recovered. Also. Harris was able to make the plays when our defense put UTSA behind the chains. Aune wasn't close to being as efficient. Personally, I believe there is a lot of blame to go around.
