  1. I don't know if Morris will lose the team if we go on to lose this game, but I feel fairly confident that if he doesn't engineer a comeback win, he will lose our fan base. This sh!t is unacceptable.
  2. I have to agree. Littrell was never going to take us where we wanted to get, but his actions on the sideline never caused our fan base to question his mental fitness either.
  3. Morris coaching the 1st half tonight.
  4. I have no idea what to say about this game. Piss poor play calls.... The 3-3-5.... Stupid penalties.... If Morris can't orchestrate a second half comeback tonight, he should be fired before he can get to the locker room. No fan base should be expected to endure this level of incompetence.
  5. Tyson may be 31 years older, but he is still going to beat Paul like a rented mule. After seeing him at the weigh-in, I surmised that Tyson is in shape (for the first time in 30+ years) and still has his hand speed. Even if some of Tyson's punching power has diminished, he still has enough power to knockout a Youtuber.
  6. North Texas needs to run it up early and put UTSA away by halftime...... The Tyson/Paul fight starts at 9.
  7. Our defense didn't give up too many points, but they struggled to get off the field all day. So yeah, they showed up. But they didn't show up like Army's defense. In the battle of the defenses, Army defense outplayed our defense, and they did it with 2-star talent. I'd take their DC over ours. As for our offense... they got embarrassed today. My biggest problem with these spread offenses is that they can't line up and play smash mouth football when you have to have 1 yard. Morris has to install a jumbo package.
  8. #Hit6 was our campaign over a decade ago. It shouldn't be good enough for any of us today. We should have increased our expectations by now. UNT is a 5-4 team that started the season 5-1. Now UNT is below .500 in AAC play. We beat on bums. Until we actually step up and beat good teams, we can't be a good team. So, we will now go to a POS bowl and play a team from the Sun Belt, C-USA, or MAC. Wow, does that suck. Nobody wants to pay money to go see that. They wouldn't even pay money to drive to DATCU and watch this Mean Green team face a Top #25 Army program. So our 400,000 alums will continue to stay home while programs like Army make us visitors at DATCU. I hate it. I really do. But it won't change as long as our fans and donors continue to make excuses and accept the #Hit6 mentality.
  9. The Army fans sitting behind us were a bunch of a$$holes.
  10. We need a jumbo package. Not sure why Morris can see it.
  11. The regular fans in our section were surrounded by Army fans, and they acted like the owned our stadium. DATCU had to be somewhere between 40-60% Army fans for this game. Unfortunately, our team didn't put them in their place. Morris made some very questionable calls, and Army's defense (comprised of 2-star talent we wouldn't even let walk-on at UNT), made a joke of our "high-powered" offense. The Army fans near us were annoying and mouthy. They even went so far as to call Mean Green fans "a bunch of vaginas", when many fled following our first endzone pick. By the end of the game, the entire event had become an embarrassment for North Texas. So what can we really take away from this game? The North Texas football program never answers the challenge when faced with a real opportunity to be something better, and sadly our leadership believes that is acceptable. Sure, we will back into a sh!tty bowl game (against a team from a conference we left). But we won't be anything more than we are right now. We will continue to be a visitor in our stadium every time a real program shows up.
  12. Attached is an ESPN article ranking all the FBS defenses. Being that Caponi earns more than ever other DC in the Group of 5, we should be able to hire away one of the better DC on this list. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/42056528/college-football-2024-defense-stop-rate-week-10
  13. Once Caponi is gone, will Mosley still allow Morris to spend more on a DC than all the other G programs? If so, then we should be able to poach away one of the better G conference defensive coordinators. Could we lure away the DC from a Boise, Tulane, UNLV, or JMU? Just wondering what the board thinks.
  14. I'm light of the score, I'm changing my birthday wish..... I'd like Tulane's defense. Their defense was bigger, faster, and stronger.
  15. I have no clue what our attendance will be, or how many passes Morris will attempt. I have no idea how many rushing yards we will have.... But, I believe North Texas is getting a homecoming win on my birthday. It's the only thing I've asked for this year.
  16. A massive disappointment. Even with a better opponent, we end up with worse rating. I'll keep saying it..... I wish we would make more of an attempt to promote our games in DFW. We can do better than 30K.
  17. Caponi should have been let go after last season. Although I do agree, the defense is better since switching away from heavy use of the failed 3-3-5 system. The simple fact is that Caponi knew he'd need to build a stout/tough defense that could force offenses off the field and give the ball back to our high powered offense. He just kept trying to spoon feed us the 3-3-5, and still hasn't recruited the caliber of players it takes to compete with the best G programs. UNT has arguably the best G offense, paired with a below average G level defense. Caponi simply hasn't earned his salary as the highest paid defensive coordinator outside of the power conferences. I see no good reason to give him another contract. And if UNT goes and wins a bowl this season, I highly doubt it will be because his defense carries us to the victory. He needs to go.
  18. The Frisco Bowl is garbage, and no one wants to play our bowl game at SMU. Our attendance at the two Frisco Bowls were terrible. The bowl feels small time and our attendance reflects that. We need to play somewhere else.
  19. I can't see the AAC fulfilling our bowl obligations as it is. The conference current has 9 programs with losing records. But given the choice, I'd much rather North Texas play in the Independence Bowl than endure another trip to Frisco or the First Responders at SMU.
  20. 44 points should have been enough to beat Memphis. Our defense just isn't as talented or tough as Memphis' defense.
  21. 82K is pathetic. Those are ESPNU numbers. This is why I said we should have run a commercial in DFW all week leading up to the game. We can't build our brand if no one tunes in to see us play.
  22. Morris needs to burn a timeout before our second defensive series.... so Caponi can go ahead and make the halftime adjustments early. Strategy.
  23. I get that it would be expensive, but we have never been in a position to promote our football team as the most explosive in the entire FBS, and we may never be in this position again. We don't have to wait a decade for students to graduate and fill the home side. Damn the cost. We need publicity in DFW and among our alums and community, more than we need to save $500K. Make it a two week run and promote the Memphis game too. Maybe we see a major spike in attendance when we return to DATCU. We'll never know if we don't try.
  24. Production costs will be minimal because we can create the commercial in house. Air time is expensive, but we can target certain times (5 & 10 o'clock news), instead of all day long. That should reduced the cost some. The cost may still be high, but the cost of continuing our current plan will be falling further behind. UTSA, Texas State, and now SHSU are all gaining more relevancy as we make excuses for not marketing our athletics.
  25. We are not Rice. We have a huge alumni base that has forgotten about their alma mater. Our issue with attendance and TV viewership should be a quick fix if we are smart. Why do I say this? Because at this moment, UNT football actually has a product to sell that the DFW community and our disenfranchised alumni base will get behind. So here is the plan... Get our athletic department media team to create a commercial promoting the game at FAU and have it run on the local stations all next week. Our game got picked up for ESPN2 in primetime on Saturday. The commercial needs to include imagery of some of the local communities... Signs and water towers type stuff (Denton, Dallas, Fort Worth, and some of the smaller towns too). Highlight our offense stats, and include our most explosive plays this season. Make sure everyone in DFW knows we have the most explosive offense in all of college football. We also need to get the commercial out on X, and have our celebrity alumni retweet it to their fans. It will cost some money, but it can only increase our viewership, which would make it worth the expense. If it works, do the same thing for our Memphis game, should it also get picked up for broadcast Or we can just sit around and keep doing what has yet to work.
