  1. Today I watched an RB from Cal drag our defense 15 yards into the endzone for a TD. That is never tolerable. Not even in game one.
  2. We got whipped at the line of scrimmage in the second half and it all fell apart. Morris better work overtime and get this fixed.
  3. but we didn't score a single point in the second half against Cal. Just saying.

  4. I could be way off, but I think Morris will have a more dynamic offense than what we saw from Littrell the last few seasons. I don't expect any improvement from the defense. I have concerns. I don't think we lured enough depth on the D-line or enough talent at the LB positions. Even so, I think we are in for a really solid debut season in the AAC. CAL - W FIU - W La Tech - W ACU - W Navy - W Temple - W Tulane - L Memphis - L UTSA - L SMU - L Tulsa - W UAB - W 8-4
  5. This player's favorite cousin talked him up to me for two years. She told me how much this young man has wants to be a member of the Mean Green program. Gotta love when a player with real ability picks UNT as his first choice. For that he has my respect. I believe he will be a contributor this season even though he's a true freshman. I'm telling you now... don't sleep on this guy. My player is....... LANDON SIDES
  6. Dude, you need to take a photoshop class. That looks ratched.
  7. Good stuff JD. You and Sanoe do a great job of keeping us informed. Thanks.
  8. I'm going to predict that tomorrow's press conference reveals that the terms of DATCU's naming rights agreement includes a sweetheart financing deal for the athletic center expansion. I can dream right?
  9. Really looks like UNT will enjoy 7 home games in 2027, 2028, 2029, & 2030.
  10. 7Up Stadium!!!! But, it will probably DATCU Stadium, which is also great. 👍
  11. from UTSA. But, it does contain great information about how and why the AAC selected each the 6 C-USA programs. * UNT was among the original 4 selected for expansion by the AAC. The idea was to expand back to 12, but in the end FAU & Charlotte were also added. * UNT's commitment to spending on athletics cemented their spot with UAB, UTSA, & Rice. * Aresco insisted that expanding the AAC's presence in Texas was a top priority for the AAC's expansion. Here is the video....
  12. The Athletic Center expansion has begun!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Thank for posting that video. His depiction of our defense's current state is exactly why I have concerns about that side of the ball. I sure hope Caponi knows what he's doing.
  14. I remember back in the Dodge days when our flag crew would run after touchdowns and the eagle logo on the flag was flying backwards. I think I had to watch that for a least three seasons. That was terrible brand management. Thank goodness we aren't doing such things anymore. Winning is always our goal, but it isn't enough to elevate our brand. To generate the kind of interest that sustains a program in the eyes of college football fans, we must innovate and create a unique atmosphere around UNT. Boise has won a lot of games, but it is their "Smurf Turf" that they are best known for. If I were in charge of UNT's marketing...... * I would do a better job of bringing the Battle Flag into the stadium experience, so that it becomes a fixture of our broadcasts on ESPN's channels. * I would scrap the current Scrapy costume and design one that Oregon would be jealous of (I have some ideas). * I would innovate our use of in-game reporting (the sideline personality that hosts the various interactive games could be better utilized). * I would place more quality signage along the sidelines at the corners of the endzones instead of so much blank brick. There are other unique things I would do that would benefit the perception of our on the field product and game day experience too, but this is enough for this post.
  15. SMU will end up in the PAC. But, it probably won't look much like the PAC at that point. Colorado is within weeks if not days for bolting to the Big12. Once they officially announce, things are going to get interesting.
  16. It will be much easier for the offense to continue to have success, or even build on what Littrell has done, than it will be for Caponi to turn around our defense that has struggled for years. I like Caponi, and I like his defense. I just worry that we haven't added enough talent through the portal to give his defense a real chance this season. Plus, I worry about our defensive depth. Especially with an upgrade in conference strength. I just think the odds are that we will have growing pains on defense this season. But, I hope I'm wrong.
  17. I asked when they were looking for podcast questions, but it wasn't addressed. I took that to mean the numbers are not where we'd like them to be.
  18. Thanks for doing this interview! Great insight into the factors that led Cash to commit to UNT. I could certainly see him helping to selling other recruits on playing for UNT.
  19. I don't know if you're seen this interview Sanoe did with Brophy, but I was quite impressed with this guy. I think Morris has a real gem here, and I think this coach will do wonders with a QB like Cash. Personally, between the WR's we've got committed and Cash, I'm very excited about the future of our offense.
  20. jayD, Are you and Sanoe going to have Cash on for an interview? I'd really like to hear his take on UNT's program and what sold him on the Mean green. Thanks.
  21. When Lugo committed to UTSA I was mad. At the time, I said we had to land McCollum, who I think is actually better than Lugo. McCollum has it all. This guy reminds me of Jackson Arnold. This is a great day to be a Meean Green fan. Welcome aboard Cash! Now let's go get some linemen to protect him.
  22. 1. Any updates on the athletic center expansion? 2. Will the athletic department be releasing season ticket numbers? Thanks.
  23. It could be worse, Middle Tennessee has 3 OOC away games scheduled for 2024 and zero home games. UTEP also has 3 OOC away games scheduled for 2024. That sucks. If I had to guess, I think we pick up a home & home series with New Mexico. In Denton in 2024 & at New Mexico in 2025. They lost their home & home with NMSU, since the Aggies are joining C-USA and had to purge their schedules.
