  1. We need Navy to fumble or start picking up penalties. Our 50 defense isn't going to stop them.
  2. 1st down Navy. We're not getting this ball back. Hope we can strip it.
  3. TD! We have to onside kick this. If we don't, we won't get the ball back.
  4. Three sacks were part of the problem, but 300+ yards of rushing by Navy & the 50, with its' 3-man front, certainly had a hand in this loss too.
  5. Well, that's the ballgame. The excuse makers can begin telling us how it's not all bad.
  6. Let go offense!!! Win this thing.
  7. It was underthrown. Had the pass be on target, it would have been a touchdown. We got lucky.
  8. Thank goodness for bad passes too. Both of those should have been touchdowns.
  9. Thank goodness for penalties. Now let's hope this 50 doesn't give up a deep ball.
  10. This is torture. This defense is absolutely worthless. Morris has to answer for this crap. If Navy doesn't get penalties, they will spend the next 5 minutes getting another TD.
  11. Yeah. He could have cleaned his clock, but chose not to. I wouldn't have called it targeting either.
  12. Our coaches don't make halftime adjustments either.
  13. That is the most profound and accurate answer I have ever read. Well stated.
  14. Penalties hurt Navy in the 1st half. And like I've already stated, Navy is making adjustments and beginning to hurt us with their passing game. This game is beginning to get away from us.
  15. You do realize Navy rushed for around 240 yards in the first half? The first half.... Let that sink in for a minute.
  16. I'm bumping this, since this ancient 50 just gave up a second deep ball. Morris needs a real defensive solution. The 3-3-5 isn't the answer, and this gimmick 50 is dated and is beginning to get exposed.
  17. I was a nose guard in a 50 defense back in school. I know it well. While better than a 3-3-5, it isn't ideal for us.
  18. The 50 was good against the option 40 years ago. But, offenses are much faster and multiple now. The 50 just can't hold up when offenses (even Navy) stretch the field. I can almost guarantee you than UNT will not feature it beyond this game. If Navy starts running play actions against this 50, we will get into trouble.
  19. Great TD run by Rogers. Morris is running a variation of the 50 defense, which is better than the 3-3-5. Basically, it's what teams ran 40 years ago when every offense was some version of the option. My concern is that it won't hold for 4 quarters and it will give up some deep balls.
  20. I've watched us play every game too. Not all of the 4-man fronts we run are equal. Morris tends to lump them together when comparing them against our 3-man fronts. But, when we run a 4-down lineman front we are a more successful defense. We also run a 4-man front with two down linemen and two standing ends (that are too light and get drove back on run plays). That front gets beat just like the 3-man front. You can go back and watch the tape. It's all right there.
  21. I'm used to it. Like others, I gripped for a while about how Littrell needed to be fired. Some things are just obvious.
  22. Of course his sins would be forgiven. He already atoned for his offensive wrongdoing. But, the only way UNT beats Navy tomorrow is if Morris runs a 4-down linemen front for the majority of the game, which he has yet to commit to doing.
  23. Every G5 programs loses their best players to the portal. That's not an excuse either. Last year's defense was bad, but it wasn't the worst in all of the FBS bad. I refuse to believe it's just too late and we have to accept that our defense is trash. The complaining will continue until substantive changes are made. Morris could reassign Caponi and bring in a different coach with a fresh take on how to improve with our current personnel. There is talent on the offensive side that isn't seeing the field. Athletes are athletes. Some of those bodies can be moved to the defensive side and maybe push for playing time. And, the 3-3-5 doesn't have to be our base scheme. 4-down linemen on defense is still more effective in most situation. Beyond the fact that they wasted too much valuable time, I don't care that they spent the spring installing the 3-3-5. It doesn't work with the players we have. The Bye week and the ACU game should have provided them enough time to reset and get something better in place. They chose not to. Now, we are probably about to give up historic rushing numbers to Navy. That will be on Morris too.
