  1. Aight well that's done..... Back to "Dear Wren" .... It's the natural course of events in athletics, when the team on the field or the court doesn't perform, after a certain time and multiple chances, you look to the coaching staff, and then the person in charge of the coaching staff, in this case SL...... Clearly, in a lot of people's minds its getting passed that, beyond SL to the next phase in the cycle, the AD.... let' say WB extends SL at the end of the season, the next phase in that cycle (and it would be swift) would be Smastresk..... it's not going to get that far (knocks pounds on wooden desk) but it's the natural progression of frustration in athletics.... the pro cycle happens faster, that's when you see the Lakers coaching getting fired after ten games with an 6-4 record, those GM's don't want to be brought into that argument..... in football HC's replace Coord's to extend their lives and it may even be warranted but there's a cycle in this stuff and that cycle for some has surpassed SL and the frustration and angst is turned towards WB
  2. Pfewwwwww...... man I'm afraid you're right.... it's a whole new level of "we are really this bad right now"
  3. I was very annoyed with the comment of the broadcaster last week, when relaying what Aune said: "(Talking about his baseball career).....and when we caught up with him he said that 'now he wants to give the NFL a shot.'" Alright, having high goals is important, but having your mind in the right place and being where your feet are, is even more important to achieving the short-term goals necessary to reaching the big goals. This is fundamental stuff..... 29 years old.... pro athlete..... GOAL SETTING 101..... leadership? This showed me this dudes head is in the clouds, talking about the NFL (THE NFL!) leading up to a game in a season where you haven't produced enough to really even warrant being on the field as much as he has..... He wants "to give the NFL a shot" bro..... come on man.... what is going on in practice, the locker room, in those meetings, what's the message?!?!?!.... because we got guys talking about going to the NFL, when we can't even.... like..... my brain just stopped working trying to process some of this (stuff). We got issues.
  4. I'm interested to see how Ruder has progressed through practice. Gunnell has seen some action, Ruder intrigues me more, he's the most senior (way) after Aune, I'm thinking he's got a big chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove and it's time to give him a shot. Cast your vote for the next man up, who you'd like to see in the game sooner rather than later?
  5. Absolutely.... Somebody's gotta talk to him like the grown ass man he is.... We know Bennett doesn't back down.... I hope it was along the lines of "enough of this bull s---, you need to step the f--- up and start hitting these guys, get it together"
  6. LOL - I was thinking about making a thread but thought I would just slide it in where appropriate... pranked a few friends with it though, one apparently made a scene at work celebrating.... I'm relatively checked out until the announcement is made, then the rumor mill on coaches will take off and it'll be exciting to envision the future of the program and taking our potential to new heights! 🙏
  7. Seeing is believing.....This is what it looks like incase someone in the office isn't sure how to go about doing this (Credit: Arizona State University who has taken steps to keep their house in order).
  8. We clearly had different English professors at UNT.
  9. On one hand there's an advocating for hiring Patterson, including a positive sentiment for hiring Patterson and a reinforcement statement for hiring Patterson. Yet the conclusion, which, no less is seemingly a statement-of-fact, renders the advocating, sentiment, and reinforcement redundant. Interesting take.
  10. Definitely has the potential to attract top quality young and experienced coaches who aren't "ready" for a HC spot or want more time to develop under an established coach like Patterson..... A coordinator or position coach who has outgrown their current position but not getting a HC job that sees working under someone as accomplished as Patterson as a step up and forward in their career, this type of coach fills out a staff very well. There's the potential draw for him as a "Legacy" Project.... come in and turn it around, hand it off, but stay involved in a mentorship/quality control capacity.... lots of good ways to look at him and his potential impact on the program for many years ahead!
  11. I like Bo! Clear communicator.... Coached (not an "analyst" or "quality control") for Saban where details matter most.... Keeps it real.... Unquestionable passion for the game....
  12. Excuse me, let me rephrase since in my "youth and inexperience" (RR), I wasn't so clear the first time: 1) Did the BMD's buy our program? 2) Buy Smatresk? 3) Buy WB? 4) At what price? 5) Are they being brought in on hiring/firing a coach decision making and do they have the final say? Cut all the cloak and dagger stuff, either you're in the know and can answer these straight up or for some reason you want to keep up this mystique of BMD's? For what? 6) Are they so powerful they'll knock you off if you tell the truth? You keep bringing the BMD's up - I think we deserve to know who's running our program?
  13. Did the BMD's buy our program? Buy Smatresk? Buy WB? Was our program really up for sale? For that cheap? If they're giving money on the condition that they have a say in hiring/firing a coach then you can count me out for life. If that's who we've become and if that's who the President an AD are, that they'll cave to "BMD's", that they're capable of being bought like that, then we've lost our way and I, personally, want no part of it. For all the T. Boone PIckens (RIP) & Red McCombs (RIP to both) of the world, UNT has never been about that but if our program has sold out to "BMD's" then this LMD is out. ✌️ Being kept in the loop is one thing, it's expected, and it's a courtesy - being brought in on decision making and having the final say, lord have mercy!!! TIA
  14. I think it's tickets "distributed" - to include those given out for free or "printed" or "issued" - hope that makes sense. There's also this: You may not realize this, but officially, the NCAA requires an average attendance of 15,000 fans per game once every two years to maintain FBS status. If you miss that benchmark, you’re technically at risk of getting booted. https://extrapoints.substack.com/p/the-ncaas-attendance-requirement
  15. I don't know about 8 but we will win games for the reason you mentioned - if we're in those two games in the second half, I'll tune back in, but there's too much other good football being played..... I'll be checking the scores and getting the updates from the UNT game through the ESPN App.... Once the change is officially announced, I'll be more interested then.... I'd have been more inclined had the reports of the game day experience not been so bleak, it's like how others have been saying, "heard this song before and know how it ends" - it's an embarrassment at this point and if we've reverted back to poor customer service/game day on top of poor play, forget it.... such a shame!!
  16. Reading through the UT Coaching Staff ahead of the 'Bama game this weekend and any one of these four would be quality candidates for the HC opening next season...... I really wasn't even thinking about our new HC when looking at their bios but then it suddenly dawned on me that there's a huge list of potential candidates more than qualified that would fit the bill! https://texassports.com/sports/football/roster#sidearm-roster-coaches
  17. My spread was a little off 🤣 guess I saw the line from this past week and wasn't paying attention.
  18. @Brett Vito have you done the FOIA for the game contract? Any facts/PDFs you can add regarding how much this pay to play game cost?
  19. It shouldn't be that difficult of a game, line is at UNT -9.5 and ESPN gives UNT a 99.4% chance of winning. https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401426549 Whomever asked SL 7 years ago in his press conference if he'd have us beating TSU in year 7 - props to ya! I'm sure that was on everyone's mind then.
