  1. How eloquent. Maybe you didn’t read my suggestion for going after a home grown Defensive Coach and Mean Green Letterman Zach Orr. Or getting rid of Eric Morris in a productive fashion, letting him “resign” to be a P4 OC. But hey that is whining to you. 🤷🏽‍♂️
  2. I so want to be in person with Eric Morris and tell him exactly why he was stupid to question”where are the fans”. The fans are beaten down and don’t expect anything more than flirting with bowl eligibility at the end of the season. If we showed up for the Army game just expecting no less than 14 point from top 5 FBS offense we were let down is spectacular fashion. If we showed up to our new and most regularly played rival UTSA’s borrowed stadium ( a stadium nobody else wants) just expecting a back and forth shootout with a close finish, we got let down in spectacular fashion. Neither of the last 2 losses (of the 4 loss were streak) were even entertaining. DATCU stadium will continue to be 50% empty until they bring in TCU, SMU or any of the P4 teams in Texas or bordering states. For most of the last 20 years our program don’t give fans a reason to come unless they like are entertained by failure.
  3. Please enlighten the people who missed SUMG’s “brilliant thread” who might of missed it. Give us a synopsis of his point. Was is more than “throw money blindly at the program like SMU does”? Edit for the Downvoter: I was deadly serious albeit snarky when I asked about SUMG’s thread. I have spent thousands on this program over the past 20 years and I don’t ask the question about supporting it lightly. Why besides being an alumni would you throw money at this program? So futile it is not entertaining anymore. All the historic excuses are gone; bad facilities, low pay, and bad conference. We have some new excuses but nothing that programs like UTSA, Coastal Carolina, ODU, FAU and UAB haven’t dealt with far better than our program.
  4. Get mad at the messenger. Can’t refute anything I said and challenge my standards for being to high. Or offer and ideas of your own. Great job have laughs in 70% empty DATCU Stadium. And pick a fight with an ECU fan while you at it in person Mean Green Keyboard Warrior. Remember it’s everyone else’s fault this program is a joke.
  5. I condone and understand the mistaken omission. It was the most misleading victory in Mean Green history. I was there for that game in club seat because the weather was horrible. A pass happy UTSA came to Denton with a cold windy miserable wet day that made it impossible to throw the ball. Maybe they win the game if the weather was not so bad. But the fact they let that game be an excuse to keep Littrell another season was infuriating! 🤬. A decision like that had nothing to do with winning football because they followed that up with another double digit loss in the closet thing to a home Bowl Game in Frisco losing by double digits to a juggernaut 6-6 Miami OH. I said this at the time as well. And it was a confirmed bad decision when Seth couldn’t find a better QB than Austin Aune or get his completion percentage above 60% for more than 2 games in a row. This department is comfortable with mediocrity and programs new to the FBS level like UTSA our asses routinely. Long as we can beat teams having historically bad seasons for their program and FCS teams we are good. I am sure many of the few loyal fans were annoyed that there were enough fans that partied outside the stadium for homecoming to make the game a sellout. But after 20 years of the bullshit, I can’t be disappointed in them anymore.
  6. Both run Air Raid. Can’t assist in building a defensive coaching staff.
  7. I am officially hopeless when it comes to this program. As long as Eric Morris is here I am NOT going to another in 2025 or beyond until I see 6 wins, us beat a ranked opponent o Morris is just another Air Raid Offensive Coordinator nothing special. https://www.nfl.com/news/ravens-promote-inside-lbs-coach-zach-orr-to-defensive-coordinator Call Zach Orr’s agent right now and start recruiting him to be the 2025 or 2026 Head Coach. We have to do something different and stop making Air Raid a head coaching requirement. Give Eric Morris a heads up. His conditions for retaining his job after 2025 season are 1. Conference Championship Game Appearance 2. 9 regular season wins and Bowl win. (With those 9 wins, a good close loss to a ranked P4 in a bowl might save you). Let him find an OC job in the P4.
  8. We have to start with a Head Coach who wants to win more than give his mediocre coaching buddy an opportunity. A first time FBS level head coach should have never gotten the opportunity to bring back the worse DC in FBS without putting his own money at risk. You love guy and believe in him so much; half your salary is gone if he fails to show major improvement.
  9. I see predict cheap Club Seats for next game. Zone read run down by 3 TD. Offensive stat padding. Get rid of EM NOW.
  10. Program will just plead poverty and hire an Air Raid HC without EM’s resume. I am done going to games. I will catch a TCU in person to get my game attendance fix. Almost had a stroke yelling at that pathetic display against Army and our fans there by and large weren’t mad enough. Students don’t show up and they won’t show up as alumni either. And why the hell should they? Dominated by an upstart program that doesn’t have a stadium. Favored by 2.5 points this game and never got within that spread.
  11. I am not up to praise anything about the second half of this Mean Green season. When you bring back the absolute worse DC in the league and can’t capitalize off that defenses best performance all year you deserve to be fired. The offense gets big plays or gets stop. No sustained drives with a bad defense is just a recipe to lose exciting game by 7-10 points. I am tired of this program being stuck in the formula of STUPID.
  12. The current Leadership at UNT would have never considered this guy when he was cheap enough to hire here and clear he could coach (near end of tenure at Elon or his start at James Madison). I will tell you why. 1. Not no ties to Texas or Big 12 after 1990. 2. Not a well known “Air Raid/Spread Guru” All this makes me wonder does our athletic department do after action report on football coaches that end being very successful at programs that aren’t historically successful. I think it would be extremely helpful doing that for coaches we passed on or never got on our radar but maybe should have during a HC transition. If I were hired as AD, other than a budget review, reviewing our hiring processes for Football head coaches and the “ones who got away” would be my first order of business. If Eric Morris completes his time here without winning a bowl game or conference championship and extensive review of everything we do that setups our football program to win should be reviewed.
  13. THREE, 3 and I mean 3 points. FCS Leghigh scored a TD to tie their game with Army with 43 seconds left in the 1st Quarter. Army BULLIED our offense anytime they needed to. The only other team to get held to 3 point by Army this year was a 1-7 Air Force team with an Offense that Army is so familiar with they don't have to game plan to start. If Morris doesn't run the table these are the options he should be presented. 1. Stay on and take a paycut equal to the Defense Coaching Staff we choose to bring on to fix the mess you made. (A final salary no lower than 500k per year) 2. "Resign" and find an OC job and we will pay you the difference between your new salary and that salary you get at your next gig. 3. Stay on with full salary doing whatever you want but your contract is restructured to were all guaranteed money stops at end of 2025 with a 300k severance package if let go at that time. Because if you have expectations for this program to ever be more than "hit 6" this kind of thing will make you will stop supporting the program. And by "supporting", I don't consider supporting as watching on TV occasionally, buying North Texas merchandise as a proud Alumni or not showing up to a game (other than homecoming) until they get to 5-0 in a season. Supporting means going to games regardless of record if you can or giving small/large donations to Athletic Fun equal to what you might be willing to buy a ticket for if you can't attend. If they don't win out and I don't see major defensive improvement next year. My behavior won't qualify as supporting the program as I have defined it. My support isn't huge but I do what I can. Not being in Atheltic Department meetings for the outside it just doesn't look like they are doing what they can to get beyond Hit 6.
  14. It is a bad defense that can't be judged like a regular decent defense. To say the defense played anything short of at least decent defense is just unfair to them. But they had an extra week to prepare. 🤷🏽‍♂️. This is just too much like Seth Littrell. An offensive coach who cannot win games against equal competition at over 0.500. And no shot to win against teams on par with us without stellar QB play or weather conditions favoring a dominant group of running backs. What was the point of paying Seth not to coach last year if you were just going to hire an Air Raid clone who overvalues defenses specifically designed ONLY to slow down the Air Raid?
  15. Guy dropped passes and ran bad routes also. When they caught the ball they were thinking too much instead of going north and south. Not to mention Army got pressure with 3 man fronts. Collectively the offense choked. Army didn't respect our offense and they were going to force us to score before going deeper into their offensive playbook taking risk. They were willing to give us death by a thousand cuts. EVERYTIME you get Army Offense 10 yards off schedule your defense should be able to force a FG attempt, Punt, or a 4th 6 yards plus they FAIL to convert.
  16. Army’s game plan and turning down a late end of half high percentage field goal with no time on the clock was disrespectful of a top rated offense. They completely crapped the bed and Army knew as long as they had more than a 3 point lead, Mean Green offense would make mistakes and stop themselves. As stupid as it sounds the Mean Green’s overall strategy was to out discipline Army and get lucky with some big plays.
  17. If they hand not retained the architect of the worse defense in FBS for the defense to show little or no improvement, I might NOT agree. The ONLY reason the team is more palatable to watch this year is the usually great QB play. What happens when we don’t get QB play on a level that NFL teams would consider inviting to camp as a potential backup? 3 points, that is what we get. So unless Eric Morris can clone Chandler Morris this team is probably taking a step back next year from bowl eligibility or flirting with it.
  18. Their game strategy was to out discipline Army and take advantage of their mistakes. STUPIDITY! They put to much pressure on the worse Defense in FBS and didn’t take enough long ball shots with the offense. If the Head Coach doesn’t dip into his own salary to pay the next DC and they don’t get to a Bowl game and play well he would be fired. Well he would be fired at any other large Flagship of a System University with aspirations of competing for conference championships.
  19. Exciting QB and Offense against a slower than average defense = 3 points = pattern of letting fans down even with style of loss = bad marketing = casual local fans not coming back except for MAYBE these kinds of games EXPECTING to be let down.
  20. There are "better" situations for this defense. But there are NO GOOD situations in a one score game and more than 1:00 minute on the clock before halftime or end of game. This defense has a few "hot streaks" of opposing offenses not doing everything they want when NEEDED. It is so bad that I am not sure I want less than a 8 point lead with 2:15 left with defense on the field OR down by less than a FG with 1:25 left with offense on the field.
  21. Yes! If there has been any significant improvement, I am not good enough as a football analyst to determine what it is. This should be used as an opportunity to try out a DC sitting on their couch now that would considering interviewing at the end of the season. If there isn't anyone available right now they are interested in I understand making him finish his contract but taking his authority away. DC in name only focusing on scouting what defensive concepts our opponents run for things we can steal. But as AD right now I would be desperate enough to have Patrick Cobbs take over as DC. Since he knows the run game he might be able to scout and then scheme front 7 concepts that would be better against the run. We might be able to win shoot outs we frustrate the run game of opponents. Because sometimes QBs miss WR to extend drives or passes get dropped. A running back tackling himself in the hole is far more rare.
  22. A better OC in general than Seth. I would describe him a Seth 2.0. But if we are being honest IMO, I call him Dodge 3.0. Dodge 1.0 (Original OS massive under powered failure), we experimented with Mac , Littrell (Dodge 2.0), Morris (Dodge 3.0). Only one with head coach had Division I level head coaching experience. Why does UNT do this and expect to be massively outperform any of our previous coaches while learning on the job except maybe Dickey? That is what has me looking for the requirements to join the MGFC (Mean Green Flabbergasted Club).
  23. Worst defense I have seen in Denton since the Portland State tragedy. And that Coach Mac NT defense just gave up. These guys are trying but they can't do what Caponi is scheming with any effectiveness. If they just tackled effectively they might keep team under 45 consistently.
  24. Smatresk and Wren deserve majority of the credit for modernizing the program. And leaving out Coach Mac is a big oversight IMO. It ended badly for Mac but he is the one that elevated expectations around here to fit the new stadium. Seth did his best to meet those raised expectations. So I disagree he elevated the program. He didn’t hurt it either. But also other coaches in our conference (and other G5s) operating with less over a shorter amount of time to build their programs routinely beat his teams. The program has been bad but it not like he was recruiting to subpar training facilities, with an subpar budget and a Fouts Field beyond repair. He didn’t elevate us to mediocre we were already there.
