I really don't think it matters as long as Eric Morris is the coach here. He wasn't ready to be a head coach at this level and he is learning slow. You aren't going to get a good DC to come coach under a lame duck coach. Put yourself in the perspective of a good DC with options. If you are successful you will on be hiding EM's deficiencies as a play caller and game manager. If the defensive players are as bad as they look and you fail, you're a devalued unemployed coach looking for a 2026 job. Being coordinator at UNT isn't a bad job. But being a coordinator under a disappointing head coach new to FBS level who seems like he is in over his head is.

I stopped when I could give tickets away to people who live in Denton and like football. After the new smell wore off Apogee (DATCU) it was impossible to give 3 tickets out of set of 4 away. Then I would have to drag one of my sons kicking and screaming to fill one of my 2 season ticket seats. Now I buy week of the game. In 2025 I probably won't even do that. Just very sad. Leadership doesn't care to win just participate. When and if Clemson breaks free of AAC we will end up in something more FCS than FBS. And I am not sure how they will pay the bills with that reduced revenue. 😥

Okay how about all the grumpy fans that donate and go to games just stop complaining take their money and time and support something else? By my calculations about 5-10k undergrads are giving the players the 🖕🏾 disguised as empty seats at games. To the eye roller reaction: what do you suggest? Have you ended up wasting season tickets money because you couldn't drag any of your friends or family to a game on a GOOD WEATHER Saturday? Genuinely curious.

Hire him now, I don't care what the title is. Hell make him DC and assistant Head Coach. He couldn't be worse than Caponi. EM doesn't like it? GREAT take a reduced buyout, resign, and jump on somebody else's staff when the hiring frenzy begins. Make Skip Head Coach retain any other staff already under contract for 2025. Let Skip bring in about 5-6 people with him.

Not really, I think you are under the delusion this program is serious about winning. The leaders just want to participate.

Not picking aside but we need to only count games vs FBS competition when citing a 0.500 record. Beating 7-5 FCS Stephen F. Austin in September shouldn't factor into becoming "Bowl Eligible". This program is 5-6 vs FBS competition. That is a losing program. But losing programs get to go to bowls. I am sure every FBS team we beat this year beat the FCS team on their schedule. Hell if we count those games towards bowl eligibility, I think it would be way more intriguing to have the 4 losers in the second round of the FCS playoffs take the place of the bottom 4 "bowl eligible" FBS teams.

Well post 2000 FBS landscape with media outlets starving for live content that isn't as expensive as NFL, NBA, or NHL says we do. I never thought we would see FBS/FCS football on Tuesdays or Wednesdays either. But the seller and buyers were equally desperate to make it happen. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Unless one those guys are on their way to be a pick in the first 3 rounds of the NFL draft they can't fix our OL getting blown up in short yardage. None of the backs I saw this year carrying the ball for us were lacking athletically. The starters coming back should be better but not +35% better. And if we don't have an under center packake it doesn't matter. The OL will need to improve also.

If the other team is actually motivated with 90% of their best players not opting out, you think we win? And if that isn't that case and they beat a mediocre team at 65% that doesn't really want to be there what does that bowl win actually mean?

I am done rooting against a 13 year old program with 2 Conference Titles that consistently whips our ass whenever our conference championship hasn't already been clinched FOR THEM. Embarrassing "our rivals" already have a solid series lead on us at 8-5. They played a very respectful close game against Army on the road as a dome team. Probably should have won if the QB doesn't get greedy. Stop mentioning them as something to root against until we actually beat them on our way to contending for a Championship. Until then we will just sound like underachieving haters.

I am not. I watched games in 4 games in YouTube multiview. South Carolina vs Clemson and UTSA vs Army were great. I thank everyone who did watch and commented who entertained me way more than watching these bad teams play.

No, I think Temple's offense is just living up to its 200ish rantings. 🤣 Not watching but I suspect North Texas defense isn't just laying down or being "tricked".

So why mention "improvement" when It is absolutely meaningless? A. Can't use this to evaluate a DC. B. We only have an interim DC.

The thread is more entertaining than the game I suspect. I reference boxing; two losers in the first of undercard bouts in a pillow fight lacking fundamentals rarely gets cheers. Meanwhile in meaningful AAC football UTSA enters the RedZone down 10-7 to Army. 🤷🏽‍♂️
