I understand having some confidence that he gets us past FIU. With Morris mismanaging that game they still almost came back. But betting your house would be incredibly stupid. You forget Rogers didn’t start that game and they still almost came back to beat FIU. Furthermore the switch to Rogers is something I strongly doubt he does especially in the middle of the game.

Freaking ridiculous to assume that the record wouldn’t be exactly the same. Never got a QB to play as well as Rogers after his first one graduated. Bean was talented enough to start here and he couldn’t coach him up. Phil Bennett was brought into fix the defense but only put duck tape on it. And I am not sure Phil sticks around to finish the defense rebuild with Seth as a lame duck coach. You want to extend Seth again HOPING he sneaks the team into another irrelevant bowl at 6-6? No thank you. Seth is not getting more out of this roster moreover he probably doesn’t switch to Rogers. This is a 1000% stupid hypothetical assertion that Seth would be any better.

I think that is plain nonsense. I am Denton native this just isn't a thing all. Fort Worth nor any other community in the world is just waiting for the opportunity to embrace an underachieving sports franchise in a stadium that is falling down like Fouts was. The most valuable sports franchise in the world is 40 miles south. In the late 80s they were losing money. They were losing money because vasilated between being mediocre and just plain bad. And it looked like they were continue to be that way under the leadership at the time. Games were blacked out on local TV. It is beyond ridiculous to look at any other factors effecting attendance when the team has not won a meger G5 conference title in 20 years. We have 4 winning season during that 20 year period also. And most of those losing season were worse than 5-7.

Debatable with all the realignment. A lot of teams have come with us. Only the absolute worst at the time stayed in the Sun Belt when we left and the same thing happened when we upgraded to AAC. And we are 1-1 this year against CUSA right and could have easily lost both games. Beyond that I would be willing to bet that we aren’t favored on a neutral field against Liberty, Jax State, and NM State the top 3 of CUSA this season. Similarly if we are favored against any of the top 4 in the Sun Belt it is by 3 points or less. These conference upgrades are more about media coverage money than competition. Because no way should Big 10 be the highest paid conference if were based on the quality of the football teams beyond the top 3.

And I don’t fault you at all for feeling that way but it is just evidence to me have inept this program has been run for over 25 years. I don’t even count the period of time after coach Fry till the 90s because I don’t think they were really trying. I believe they only felt obligated to have a football program not to be lumped in with UT Arlington, UT Dallas, and other public universities in the area that don’t have FBS football. If those two schools didn’t exist as competition for local students I am not sure the program survives the 80s.

TCU long before they got into a P5 conference, regularly had way more than 30k per game. They won consistently it is just that simple. When was the last time App State was 3-6? In their short history at the FBS level they average over 8 wins a season Give me a break it isn’t that complicated. I don’t care where you are a team with no National Championships FBS or FCS ever, no conference championships or bowl wins in over a decade isn’t going to draw well.

Maybe but the influx of talent he would have brought to North Texas would covered up all the flaws the best P5 conference from top to bottom are exposing now.

I wake up from my dream sight and kiss my wife with puppy dog eyes, she asks me what is wrong and get some pity 😉 That is the absolute best scenerio I can come up with. 😆

Man this right here exactly my thoughts. That is why I found it so disappointing the leadership wouldn't even flirt with hiring Deion Sanders away from Jackson State. Maybe secretly you aren't really interest in paying him what it would take to get him here but throw out numbers publicly. And maybe numbers half the size you advertise for a Sanders led staff gets you the higher profile coach here after the publicity gets him to take this opportunity seriously. And I still say Sanders here hired shortly after the first loss to UTSA last season get a class here around his son and Travis that is bowl eligible, maybe undefeated at this point, and flirting with a ranking in the bottom of the top 25. Not to mention it instantly blows away the perception that UNT only half ass cares about football. We enter the AAC with a ton of hype. Many here crapped on the notion of even flirting with Coach Sanders. 🤷🏽♂️

And 50 years of mismanagement that makes us the but of jokes for most not already invested in UNT Football. I see random shots at North Texas Football frequently. 🤷🏽♂️

UNT vs. SMU (11/10/23) Score Predictions
Meangreen Fight replied to Big Z's topic in Mean Green Football
Don't short change our side. We will score at least 30 I think. The question is what factor they will out score us by. I am hoping it is only x 1.5 for a Unt 30 to SMU 45 and not x2 or x3. Yes 90 points highly unlikely. But in your 14 or 20 point/ for us scenario 42 - 60 points for them is very plausible. -
So it *can* be done during the season . . .

I get that but no matter the industry if you getting the worst results out of 130 people in your particular role most likely you are fired. Especially if you don't have tenure with that particular location. He has been worsre than bad so far. At higher profile DC jobs he would need a police escort off the field for the rest of the home games. That is a sad testament to the culture around sports. I only mention it to highlight how bad he has been.
