NT FB 2022 = A Year in Transition
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to Dannymacfan's topic in Mean Green Football
Totally agree. He called the stadium sellouts before the season and he made it happen. And regarding the second part, I mentioned in another thread that I would love an experienced coach with program building success at a lower level. I’m tired of the “young, up and coming coach” that hasn’t been challenged with building a program yet -

Being a bit more real would help. Should take a page out of this playbook: https://www.heartlandcollegesports.com/2022/07/13/kansas-head-coach-lance-leipold-were-not-in-the-business-of-moral-victories/ Littrell has been making a career out of moral victories this season. -
NT FB 2022 = A Year in Transition

Yeah, sort of. I understand your point in that we have potential that has been reached yet which I totally agree with. But for coaches to outright say we have a good team baffles me for the reasons previously listed. -

You and several coaches go on Twitter saying we have a good team, but I haven't really seen it. We are good in spots (RB, WR, DE, etc.) but good teams don't get blown out by almost 40 points to other 2-3 teams (SMU) or suffer multiple blow outs in one season. What qualifies this team as being good? Genuine question. -

Matt Campbell Seth Comparison
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Football
The dude definitely doesn’t get blown out, especially against ranked teams where he’s good for an upset win at least once a season. Already a massive upgrade -
Some P5 is already on the phone with him as we speak

Matt Campbell Seth Comparison
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Football
Matt Campbell could at least win a bowl game. Seth has won nothing -
KU’s success with Leipold (multiple D3 championships) leads me to believe we need a known program builder that can translate that success to a higher level. I’ve soured on “up and coming, young energetic coaches” with no prior program building experience (Littrell). I want a coach that knows what he’s doing, not constantly changing things every season to see what works.

Jason Bean playing well for Kansas

True. They’ll downvote to oblivion yet make no argument to the contrary -

This board is full of either players, coaches, parents, or Old Denton happy clappers -
La Tech just beat UTEP too. They won’t be a layup like many on this board thought they would be

4 TD passes and counting. Safe to say he wasn’t the problem at NT. The evidence against this coaching staff just keeps piling up- 83 replies

To answer the question, for me, success is winning conference championships and Top 25 finishes.

Resident KU fan here, that’s only half the story. They were also bad because football only got a fraction of the funding that basketball was getting because the previous AD figured why give a damn about football when basketball floats our athletics. New AD comes in and realizes that football can be something there. Hiring of Les Miles and Leipold were shifts in a direction but they also started pumping a whole lot more money into football which meant better facilities, more resources for recruiting, etc. To your point though, yes, budget and new coach results in the KU we see today.

Yup, fine and dandy winning conference games but those blowouts loom very large and don't bode well for us competing in the new conference. La Tech looks like garbage so that should be a W. UTSA, Western, UAB, and Rice (Yes, Rice) will tell us everything we need to know about the direction of this team.

I agree to an extent. It depends on the situation and if the program is not progressing or remaining stagnant during that extended tenure. I doubt Alabama thinks it’s time for a change of scenery just because Satan has been there since 2007.
