Jeff also got a special shout out from Mike Florio on Football night in America for coming into a new environment and playing well.

His work is immortalized and being brought back basically every year now. I would kill for something I have made to have that kind of lasting impact for NT

So after seeing what happened to us in the Memphis and SMU games and seeing where those 2 teams currently are in the standings in the AAC, you think Littrell is American quality?
-
Now I'm even more fired up about this season, IF this is all true. This was never about Littrell, I don't dislike him. I just want us to win, whether that is with or without him. We know what we get from him, so a change could do us really well. Dream scenario is Seth goes on to win the conference title, gets hired away to a P5, and we start the American with a new coach with new ideas. Tired of being satisfied with average, and we all need to be if we want to be one of those Top G5 programs. I would love for us to fill that UH gap when they jump to the Big 12. That was always a good model for us.

Breaking News! Jeff to the Dolphins

Very true. Shanahan never gave him starter snaps but he always produced when he had his number called. Glad he's going back to a coach that knows him so well and knows what he can do -

'9ers fans seem pretty disappointed about him leaving -
Brett Vito's Influence On The Program
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to 2020 Sucks's topic in Mean Green Football
Even then, Brett is kind of a cheerleader himself. I've seen a few times where people get on Littrell for his constant "coach-speak," which Brett just brushes off saying he gets loads of information for his articles from that coach-speak (I doubt it). I, myself, have gotten on Brett for many of his green-tinted articles which paint happier pictures than the real truth. -
Breaking News! Jeff to the Dolphins
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to Cr1028's topic in Mean Green Football
Dolphins are all in this year with the moves they are making and that bodes very well for Jeff seeing as how it's mainly Mostert getting the carries for them. They don't look very deep at RB so it appears to be a really good situation with a hopeful contender. Good luck to him! -
Fire 🔥🔥🔥 Side note, the general public seems to love our other throwbacks but does not like these ones. lol

Brett Vito's Influence On The Program
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to 2020 Sucks's topic in Mean Green Football
This is my thing. I like Brett but his view regarding this school is stuck in the 1990's. Every little good thing that happens to us should be appreciated because "How could we expect more than that at little ole' UNT?" Anytime we mention wanting more or having higher expectations for things, he always says something to the effect of, "Well, that's not what has been the norm in UNT's history so be happy with what you have or temper your expectations." I respect that Brett is stuck between a rock and a hard place regarding his coverage for NT athletics and he generally does a good job covering all sports but the above is my biggest pet peeve with him. Brett, it is fine to want and expect more from this school while still appreciating how far we have come from our past. -

What triggers a Seth Extension in your mind?

Austin "Kade" Renfrow, switched to WR at Ole Miss, now buried down the depth chart at Arkansas (not even 4th string from what I can see). The list goes on and it's not a good one. -
Is this our best team since Harrell left?
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Football
WKU was no walk over and was tied with us in the standings before we beat them like a red-headed step child. FAU has the same record as WKU and we also beat the absolute brakes off of them. I am like you and not usually quick to jump on the pink cloud but this team has handily beat some really good times at the right time in conference play. We now have 3 middle of the pack teams left on the schedule to beat so this is by no means a weak schedule. -
I will never forget some of the people on Twitter saying the new Sun Belt would be miles better than the new American with their additions. Meanwhile in reality, 4 of 5 future American teams either lead or are in the top half of C-USA (other than the dumpster fire that is Charlotte) while Marshall and ODU are dead last in the Sun Belt East and only Southern Piss look to be punching at their weight sitting tied for second in the West. Also, don't get me started on the "basketball dominant" Sun Belt with the addition of Marshall, ODU, etc:

Any hardware for a coach with zero hardware is an improvement -
I was kind of peeved to see the '9ers give Jeff that one drive where he absolutely gashed the Rams down the field for massive chunk plays, just to give the pass to McCaffrey for the TD catch at the end which is right up Jeff's wheelhouse. Oh well, dude is still producing when given a chance.

Vegas was the turning point…in Vegas
UNT Texas Hooligan replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
WKU hung 73 on these poor bastards. Granted, they are way more of a passing team than we are but that's a team we just took to the woodshed. They've gotten themselves a little win streak against Charlotte and La Tech but barring UTSA, we've hung 40 almost 50 on our previous 3 conference opponents and beat them by an average of 20 points. I think we beat the spread again. -
Many sports Twitter pages are clowning opponents they just beat with stuff like this. Glad we are joining the movement. It’s enjoyable to flex on those teams

He was staring a firing in the face leading back to last season until recently managing to get the heat off with some solid wins. If I’m him, I’m taking any P5 job that offers me next, no matter the conditions. This would be best for both sides. He moves up with a pay raise and we get a fresh approach with a new Head Coach and shed the “coaching graveyard” perception.

Only Extend Seth Littrell Only if...

With the transfer portal, most of the stuff you mentioned regarding recruiting is moot now
