Today`s Fort Worth Star-Telegram says that he is joining the coaching staff at TCU. I wonder why he is not returning to LSU.

Mac Engle wrote a nice article in today's print edition of the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram about how far our football program had come in the last few years. It also mentioned basketball but only briefly. It is also on their web page for those who want to read it there. We are finally getting some good publicity from sources other than the Denton Record-Chronicle.

When you build a house for your family to live in you borrow some money from a bank (or S & L or loan shark), you pay your contractors, and you have a place to live. You move in and start making payments to repay the loan plus some interest. Owing the money is not a problem as long as you can pay it back. The same would be true of an athletic department. Owing the money to build facilities is not a negative in any way - as long as you can pay back the money. It is the way the world works. I hope that someone will take the time to explain this process to the writer who did this article. He has a long way to go in order to know how the world works. On a different note, my granddaddy once told me that "them that is drawing interest is doing better than them that is paying interest". How very true......

Good article with a mention of North Texas

We attended that game. The fumble recovery for a touchdown was just amazing. We all wanted him to get down in the end zone but once he hurdled the Utah State player at about the ten yard line it was a different story.

I think Southern Miss would swap with us.

I am going to guess that the New Mexico Bowl pushed really hard to get North Texas. We are the only Conference USA school that would send any fans to fill up their hotel rooms and eat at their restaurants.

I would love to see UTA start up their football program again. We had some great games with them many yearrs ago and could have great games in the future.

I was present for the seven overtime game with FIU. Those two teams were so bad that the final score was 25 to 22 after seven overtimes.

We will see Seth's name thrown out there for lots of these openings. I hope he is telling all our recruit how happy he is at UNT and that he has no plans to leave.

Our daughter knows this young man and says he is a great person in addion to being an outstanding player. Former UNT receiver Casey Fitzgerald currently coaches at LHS. That might help things a little.

Many years ago...... during the Corky Nelson era ......our road uniforms were green helments, white jerseys with green numbers, and grey pants. Those looked pretty sharp. Iwish we would try that combjnation in the futute.

Dodgefan there are two reasons that I hope SMU loses every game they ever play. First is that most of them are arrogant jerks. Secondly, we recruit against tthem every year and I woul rather recruit against them when they have lost ten games than when they have won ten games.

ACU game is Labor Day weekend. That will probably lower attendance a little.
