Good riddance to that era of UNT football: The perpetual bowl losses, Aune spiking balls when it matters, Phil Bennett’s yellow shirt and big mouth, the defense’s lack of talent/discipline, the basic high school passing route trees. All of it. Goodbye. Won’t miss it. And if there are any players from this era hitting the portal, I won’t miss them either.

He still throws a good ball. I believe his time on the bench may have fully healed his lung/rib issues, leading him to want to give starting one more shot. He’d be a nice transitional QB. His problem is that he makes Aune look like Mike Vick.
